The crash that took Stitchie from the dancehall to the church (1997) 

During the 1980s and most of the 1990s, former dancehall star Lieutenant Stitchie was arguably the hottest deejay in Jamaica with his numerous hit songs. However, in August 1997, all that changed. On his way to Montego Bay to perform on the 'Dancehall Night' segment of Reggae Sumfest, his car crashed in Trelawny and he suffered a major wound over his left eye. He still performed in bandages but after the show, he turned his back on the dancehall and started a new life in the church.
