Based on what you said around 9:04 on having to redo the roto. A nice tip would be to tell the devs to try and maybe offer a chance to save the previous rotoscope done for a given clip ( cache locally ) and allow the end user to select if they want to use the cached data for the clip or do a new rotoscope
I tried this.. don't get your hopes up if there is motion blur, hair or any detailed edges, you will get a flickering mess. I was unable to get any usable footage out of this, even for personal use let alone something professional. Nice demo of the the concept, perhaps at some future date it will be a usable product.
My first thought was inpainting so I'm glad to see they seem to be working on that, too! AI inpainting will save a lot of VFX artists time, especially amateurs / meme people / small projects.
Wow, I can't wait for the moment when computers will do all editing, special effects and animation for our clients, so we can for once sit and relax, curl into a fetal position and die a slow death of hunger, all of us stupid human beans. Wow!
I can't believe I've just come across your channel now. I've skimmed through most of your videos and will be dedicating some of my time to watch them from now! Thank you It was extremely helpful in plain language. Most of all I appreciate that you gave everyone the different options without discouraging individuals. I will be sure to check out your other videos. Keep up the great work!
I'm testing this out and... so far it's crashed on me every time I try to do a green screen effect. It also takes painstaking keyframing if your subject moves a hand fast for example. I wanted to love this but it's not better than a cheap green screen. I'll give it another shot but it's not as easy as your video makes it out to be. Never is.
Maaaan lissen...I watched a video about Da Vinci REsolve where they used the magic mask. I assumed that the color page only Magic Mask tool was doing this. I was bummed out when I found out that the effects could only be used on the color page. THIS is the redemption of my excitement and hope. I am so grateful that you shared this, and impressed with the AI behind this. Thanks, man.
I bought a tablet (of a certain nature) and this was on reason I returned it. I have never in my life seen so many interruptions and ads in my life. to the point where it became unusable.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but 90% of the green screening I have done on RunwayML doesn't work like this. When the mask breaks and I fix it, it doesn't then sort it out for the entire clip as shown here. I have been having to go through, frame by frame, including and excluding areas. When I asked about it on Twitter, I was ignored. I think it's pretty fair to say, that to get these kind of results, it has to be almost green screen in the first place.
Thanks for sharing this! Totally loving the possibilities! I’m about to start making a lot of music videos so this is gonna be life changing! Can you export footage in 4K if that’s what the source footage is?
Man this is the kind of content I live to see, I mean the blend of your awesome nerd personality and real content that actually works is a combination that makes me Like, Share and Subscribe asap. Keep it up bro and thanks for being authentic 💯 soon to 500k subs
Progressive Web Apps' Cloud computing is truly the future. Imagine it, you can edit and render an entire video on the Surface go since you won't be hindered by the computing power of your device.
OK, since U grabbed my attention with this program, RunwayML, I Subscribed to U today and also gave it a big LIKE. Looken forward to your other vids. Cheers & be well !!
Man, love your passion. How many cups of coffee did you have before shooting the video? I need that kind of energy in my vids! thanks! oh ya, and the AI stuff is mindblowing! thanks for the share
the dancer on the roof scene makes me think a logical feature would be that now that it has masked the dancer wouldnt it be able to just REMOVE the dancer all together and be left with the shot of the roof since at one point or another all items on the screen are visible? similar to like a content aware on PS or PR. the uses for that would be endless
this video is talking mostly about workflows for VFX - I was using this to edit. RunwayML actually is a less than mediocre editor, however - I am pretty certain editorial for content creators is not the focus of this tech company.
Curious, perhaps you answered this questions already. However, if this is a web based program and all your footage has to be uploaded, does the company keep your original footage? Do they have an intellectual right to use your footage seeing that you are using their program? Is this company Chinese or from another country? Thanks for your time.
