Keyboards aren't going anywhere anytime soon. There's still a big market for the IBM Model M from the 80s simply because it's the best keyboard ever made, and a big market for other types of mechanical keyboards as well.

This will indeed be the "new" in the future. This is just a beginning of it. Same as how VR was SUPER expensive when it came out, and now there's alternatives for cheaper versions. Pretty sure this'll be the same thing. In the next couple of years, there should be other companies making these - competition will start and then it won't cost 550 dollars anymore.

Look up Linus tech tips video on keyboard macros. They did a similar thing using a second keyboard. Much more economical.

It certainly could help to keep some of the discrepancies between Adobe products' shortcuts easier to remember.

But here's the thing; You can configure it, but if you are somebody who uses multiple Adobe tools, having entirely different keysets for them on a single keyboard is ideal, and heads over shoulders better than keycaps you need to replace. I can see a lot of specific-purpose uses for this keyboard, just not a lot of general-use purposes aside from kever needing keycaps again because you can config your keys, as well have general use information on top.

First of all, it seems that most of people in comments don't know the biggest difference between this Popularis version of keyboard and the Maximus original full size version - Maximus are actually having tiny OLED display mounted under each keycap, while this cheaper Popularis version actually has A SINGLE LARGE LCD spanning under ALL keycaps, and intricate mechanical construction to spring and register press of transparent key dome. As a result not Maximus not Popularis can't be equipped with mechanical swithes without totally changing construction.

I think the touch bar is an indicator of where they are going. A haptic feedback OLED screen might be the right move. You can also integrate pen and touch options, which will only show up on the display. And, you can optimize the functions for the way you work in keyboard mode, as well as move back and forth seamlessly between keyboard functions plus touch. Apple doesn't create anything per say but if they get back to their roots of optimizing available tech in a clever way, they'll redeem themselves.

Ok the Macs are overpriced but have you even tried using recently a Windows PC to get work done? They have always driver issues and heavy loaded from Windows it self and well yes the OS is a serious thing you know it's half of the computer's power. And not today about most companies not being consistent at all with drivers updates. (Microsoft surface line excluded.) Anyways Mac is not perfect. MacBook pro has the worst keyboard ever and lacks of sd card slot. But in general once you go Mac you never go back. OS is a huge huge deal. And the build quality as well is overall good. Not perfect as I said keyboard is fucked up. But as I said before maybe your just some ignorant little boy who thinks that just because he plays games he knows about technology. Mac is like Linux boy. It's made for work . Not games and playing your little thing over there in some naughty websites.

Geth270 I do graphics. Design and all. Game development and some photography. And Mac just works (the OS at least . And the speeds of the computer while using it. ) I even have a more powerful core i7 quad-core laptop with touchscreen and all. But. Mac is working. Even with i5 dualcore.. even without the touchscreen. Even without the Nvidia 4Gb that the other one has.

it's actually a single display with the keys on-top of it, the fact it's USB driven gives away that it doesn't require any of your systems GPU power.
