Packy, that was the most incredible finish to anything bowling I have seen in 50 years in the sport. You should be proud of your accomplishment and the way you helped carry the team with Arturo. Great job!!
Dude, that was insane! Been a bowling fan for over 35 years, and I have to say, that was the most exciting match I've ever seen. Norm, and everyone else has done so much for the sport, and it all ended perfectly! Congrats to everyone involved!
Great job on filming Nick. That was very intense watching the final game. Congratulations to Lumberjacks on the win. Sad to see Norm leaving the sport, but I'm sure he'll be watching all the younger people in the future.
Absolutely nuts. My wife and I were on the edges of our seats. You gave a great accounting of your self. That 7 10, you got HOSED. Congratulations to you and your team. It was fun to watch.
This is "league night" bowling, everyone loud, having a good time. Highs, lows, the crowd's "audio track" adds to the suspense and result. Really think this format would help get more eyeballs for TV (and viral internet) and then start bumping up the money side of things. Great show.
All it took was the announcers saying the Lumberjacks had no open frames for 4+ games and then the "flood gates" opened. Don't they know about comments like that during free throw streaks? Congrats on the 3rd team championship. Great video "up top". Cool to see a perspective not on TV. Thanks Nick for the awesome shots.
Yeah that show was everything, riveting, insane, emotional. Back and forth, looked like you were going to get shut out, then all of a sudden ... And those last 3 frames, just draw dropping. Seen some comments on social media about criticizing the missed single pin spares but part of the draw of this game at the pro level is that you all come off as regular guys grinding it out on tour week to week. Those of us who follow know you are all at the top of the game and better than the rest of us but the whole drama that unfolded with the crowd energy was just great entertainment which ultimately is good the future of the game. Seeing that lead go back and forth with each shot with the title on the line. I'm sure you guys are used to the pressure but amping it up with TV and that crowd it definitely affected the play and it made for compelling television. Packy, you were pretty awesome on Sunday, what did you miss the pocket once? That pocket 7-10, heartbreaking for you in the moment, I'm sure but I was screaming into my TV. I hadn't had a moment like that since Mariano Rivera coughed up the lead against the D-Backs in the 2001 series. But for you it was a great shot, certainly not an error but the bowling gods determined it was time for that 7-10. For my money, I would have named you as the MVP for the team. You were pretty rock solid, made key shots when the team needed it and got them pumped up. Arturo definitely got things pumped up also you were right there and I think made better shots. The ending with Norm throwing that last shot, flush in the pocket with 10 in the pit, tears streaming down his face is one of the great, if not greatest PBA moment.
my family flew to portland for the week just for the pba league and it was absolutely incredible! the pros are so accessible and friendly it’s amazing. tv does not do justice to how loud it is in that building. it’s ten times louder in person than on tv. such an awesome experience. congrats lumberjacks! incredible comeback!
Easily the best match of bowling I've ever seen. Insane comeback, so much skill, and just an all round spirit lifter. Couldn't have asked for a better pba match. Well done.
Freaky, dramatic, intense, emotional, unbelievable... Aside from that, Packy, it was pretty routine! Lol... So awesome, big guy! So happy for the sport, Mighty Norm, and you big guy... tough shot in the 5th game and your last shot! WOW!
That was great TV, nice job Nick and congrats to the Lumberjacks! So much fun to watch. The Wife & I were on our feet in the living room for the finish! Thanks and we Luv U Norm enjoy whatever is next!
Unbelievable match!! Was great seeing you and everyone out there battling and it definitely did not disappoint. Shout out to Norm for an amazing career. Legend 💪
Nick did a great job with the camera, even the vlog where a certain pro shop owner kept getting the back of his head in the picture😉. Congrats to you and the rest of the Lumberjacks!
2:03- Any moments with Brad are always worth watching imho, lol! Great content Packy and enjoyed the PBA experience. Would loved to have spent more time with House members, especially Brad, but it's highly understandable when guys are busy and they don't have much down time in between bowling events.
That was the most insane and anti-climatic ending to a PBA League in the 64 years of the PBA Tour! Congratulations to you and the lumberjacks for a three-peat victory and to Norm, you will be an absolute living legend in all our hearts. ♥️👍 #thankyounorm
Insane is not a big enough word! That was absolutely crazy… You had a great show and I had a blast watching what will be one of the greatest bowling events I’ve ever seen.
My jaw dropped when I saw the ending on TV. I thought they had you all by a mile. But that goes to show you never give up and never back down. You all had a really great team.
I literally just got done watching this and I’m not gonna lie these are one of the matches that have inspired me into taking bowling and joining my schools bowling league and hope to become pro and I’m only 15 turning 16 in less than two months
That ending was insane. Looked like neither team wanted to win. I thought you guys were letting the Strikers win for Norm. And they were letting the Lumberjacks get the 3-peat. Crazy.
Man Arturo had great ball reaction this whole match. Guy was dead nuts till his 2-10 at the end there. Packy got jobbed on his 7-10, threw a pretty good shot. I like that high camera angle at Bayside, y’all should do that next year too. Also btw Packy , I like when you explain the action like you did here during the game, you should do that more in match play in tournaments, you did it before in a vlog and it was really good.
I love being able to watch the event from a different perspective. I also can't believe how insane it is at that alley. Don't know how you guys do it !
I feel like everyone else. What a rollercoaster! I was heartbroken for Kris after that nine pin miss, but wow, what an unbelievable sequence of events! I would have been happy for Norm to get that win, but in the end never bet against “the House”! 💪
I'm sure Kris feels horrible about the missed spare, but he can laugh it off because his team won. The one I feel really bad for is Matt Ogle. He has bowled so well the whole tournament, and he basically had one instance of mistake which cost his team the match. But it's happened to all of us. We've all failed to come through at one point or another.
Crazy finish, just crazy. I feel like bowling Team or Baker games are almost always more pressure packed, because you’re not just letting yourself down, you’re letting the whole team down if you sh*t the bed.
The Fox Sports vid popped up in my feed last night. Great comeback by the Lumberjacks and wow, that has to be one of wildest finishes ever in any PBA match. 5 opens in the last 7 frames between the teams. It had to be an honor to roll against Norm Duke in his final match. How great that he got to close it out with a strike, Brooklyn to boot.
Was at Southpoint two weeks ago and met a whole lot of you that I have never bowled with or against, must say, you guys and girls are doing the sport Great!! And were so friendly......
Packy, I've probably watched every episode of the House Bowling and the finish for the Elias Cup Championship has got to be the most exciting, best finish, nerve racking, nail biting, craziest final in the history of Bowling. All I can say is WOW. Too bad it couldn't end in a tie because nobody deserved to lose that last game. Tell Keven I enjoy his videos too. Especially the Savage one with Diana Zavjalova my favorite Professional Woman Bowler.
went out bowling last night actually, and watched you the whole time. looking to get my first ball still but i bowled my house ball average nonetheless lol. it’s not good but i know the more i go and once i get my own ball it’ll only go up
Congratulations to everyone that was able to participate, amazing performances. Are any of you going to be at Grand Rapids next week? I ve been at Nutmeg for the past week getting ready for JrG.
Packy , I thought you did a great job of listening to coach and keeping your heartrate down. I saw one shot that you were smiling on about the 3rd step with all that noise and pressure. Very impressive. Great video Nick
When your amped up at Bayside, it really changes everything. In 2015, it had a similar situation where the first ever show at bayside where it was NYC vs Brooklyn. No spares were made until the sixth frame. PB3, Weber, Rash, Sterner, Archer, and Scott Norton all opened and Sterner was the only split. Absolutely crazy. You going to bowl at Callahan’s for NEBA this weekend?
Hearing the crowd like that reminds me of the times when someone would complain about a camera click, or a water bottle crinkle. Congratulations on the W!!!!
Watched it live it was great and those splits oh man. When you left 7-10 no I said but then down 2-0 come back yes! Plus good ole Norm Duke will be missed.
Everyone everywhere needs to start recording from the top like this, I can see so much more, what the ball is doing, how its being let go, yeah its shaky but I like it.
