Public Test Builds or PTBs are game builds specifically for testing upcoming releases of Dead by Daylight content. As a result, much of the content on these builds is experimental or unfinished, leading to some insane moments over the years both positive and negative. Today we’re going to look at those varied moments.
At the time of this video's release Chapter 31 has been released, with new killer The Unknown and survivor, Sable Ward! We also recently got the 7.0.0 PTB which finally brought along a rework to The Twins.

As a twins main, I would say the only change they needed was to be able to switch faster. And maybe make the add-ons a bit better.

Real. Like who was this made for? No twins players are happy with the Victor changes. no survivor players are happy with how ridiculous twins are to face. And no general killer players are that happy with the twins rework because it's just legion combined with Chucky except broken

I agree, they absolutely gutted one of the most unique killers in the game. I get that they were viewed unfavorably by the community but that’s just bound to happen with some killers, they won’t appeal to everyone and they never should. This rework reminds me kind of like freddys rework where with Freddy yeah he was undeniably bad but his rework made him completely soulless and bland and boring. The twins rework is like freddys rework but if it made them completely busted. I really hope only the qol changes for them make it past the ptb because if the rest make it well this game has just lost one of my favorite characters.

They need pinging so they can move each other around without having to stop what they're doing. One of the biggest reasons why people slugged was because of Charlotte being on the opposite side of the map after Victor downed someone successfully. Your fixes don't address that. At all.

@@turbo_killer347the animation doesn’t count towards the stun time, yall are acting like the stun starts the moment you get grabbed when thats literally not how it works, the animation isnt the problem, the amount of killers that can immediately catch up to you like nurse or blight are the issue.

1. Yeah, I play on console and I remember how original RPD almost always crashed when I got it. Visually, it was a phenomenal homage to RE and it's a shame that it's size and performance overshadowed it's beauty. 2. As for the Boons, it's a shame that only CoH was ever meta and that the other three were never touched up to compete with it. However, they did mark the beginning of a new age of perk types so that's somewhat of a positive. The Teamwork and Invocation perks are flawed but they still show that the devs are trying to think outside the box. Thank you for the video. ❤

I can confirm that UE5 is behind a lot of the weird bugs. Work for another game studio just down the street from Behaviors office and I don't think I've ever seen a game have a smooth transition to UE5 for any game, chances are there will be quirky little bugs that pop up for the next few months, hopefully all minor or comical like T-posing deadhard.

TLDR: Yes, though it can take time to get things implemented in a way that shows the improved VFX, Lighting/Shadows and generative things like foliage. It also enables them to potentially create new content and game modes with less effort/time needed depending on which features they use. ----- UE5 does come with some improved rendering tech, especially when it comes to lighting, shadows and foliage. Some versions of UE5 also have vastly improved VFX performance, especially with things like fog, weather, fire and other things that can be quite resource intensive. Also it tends to have better animation and rigging functionality, which could result in improved animations, but that would still actually require someone to go in and enable/tweak stuff. Now these are all ideal improvements, but what tends to happen with UE5 is everything just kind of explodes in relation to new bugs...sometimes even bugs that actually hinder the direct reasons for the upgrade, but as long as a company has the time and resources...like Behavior does, they can usually push through them quickly enough. Just expect more bugs than average the next few months...if t-posing deadhard is the worst of it then the player base and behavior are lucky lol.

Also the size of RPD was insane back in the day. It is a huge and confusing map still now but nothing like it was back in the day and the gen and totem spawns were crazy. It basically required small game if you were hunting for totems or detective's hunch. It was so bad that BHVR had to make a video explaining how to fins you way through the map.

If you think RPD is confusing, then I have no idea how you got this far in life and not endep up in a mental asylum or jail. Do you need your mommy to walk you to work and spoon feed you? RPD is the easiest indoor map. Easier than Lerry's or The Game. It's not the game's fault you're a brain damaged NPC that can't navigate a simple area a toddler could remember.

I’ve recently become a Twins enthusiast and that’s considering their pre rework kit as well. I hate, however, the thought of them being given the Huntress treatment and made unfairly overpowered. I know their kit can be jank and mediocre but…come on. That said, if they turn out fairly balanced in the update? Awesome!

I do however object to the reversal of Victors lunge. It makes way more sense for that to stay with the first hit and not the second. The whole point is that he’s grabbing and biting and gnawing you as a distraction while Charlotte either deals with something else or bee lines for you.

It's funny how the 3.0.0 pallet stun VFX was considered too disorienting and was ultimately not added, but survivors still have to deal with much more disorienting effects such as deep wound making the screen much darker and colorless, clown bottles making everything blurry, etc. Besides the fact that flashlight blinds still make the screen go bright white which several killers say causes them eye strain.

You obviously haven't played the game in a bit, Clown's bottle effect has been severely toned down, its honestly barely noticeable now. I don't mind as he got some nice buffs, but its technically a "nerf". I think deep wound effect should be toned down too, because its just a bit too much. I wouldn't mind an alternative effect for blinding, a simple black screen would suffice. I'm not super bothered by the current one, but would definitely like an alternative to it.

To be honest, I've been playing since the beginning of the game and when they changed the movement, I was quite disappointed because I really liked the old movement and it was smooth. For me the old movement will always be better compared to the new one due to the fact that I really liked how smooth it was and how good it looked and of course, because of the nostalgia.

I was more surprised by the Haddonfield "rework" is just a joke. All pallets are simply ridiculous and that’s where their functionality ends, especially pallets that are located next to lockers. I play killers, but these changes with Haddonfield seem terrible to me too.

I’m a survivor and killer main who sub mains twins and the twins rework is AMAZING, as survivor victor is actually a killer to fear instead of a huntress hatchet on legs. And from the twins perspective you are now two separate killers not a killer and an ability. Victor should be slower, and or have a longer pause between hits but other than that it’s great

I’d agree if the PTB was actually playable. The entire duration of the ptb i had been having so many issues with server lag and rubberbanding that got so bad that one time I even went down because it physically wouldn’t let me move without sending me back to the place before I started moving so the killer was able to just hit me twice.

Then another issue I have is them completely removing certain interactive features that were unique to specific characters or perks. Dead Hard's cool animation turned into Borrowed Time, struggling with Victor on your back then throwing him to the ground, and so many others, I understand why they were changed but man it sucks.

Still think Wraith should be susceptible to Lightburn. It made sense on Nurse (pointless as you're gonna get hit trying) and Hag (Her power takes time to set up and being countered by a simple click of a flashlight was stupid), but Wraith has insane mobility (especially with Windstorm) and can dodge being burned pretty easily. In my experience, it just makes him an efficient proxy camping tunneler and all around snoozefest

Going with some of these comments, I think the only real changes needed for the twins are: -Faster animation switch times to make them feel less clunky -Shorten the recall timer to prevent survivors from kidnapping victor for too long and leaving you without a power -small add-on changes -5% hinder on survivors with victor attached

I think that the finisher Mori thing should come back as a convenience thing. Rather than automatically winning if you slug everyone, you just get the ability to Mori the last survivor for free. For clarity, this idea doesn't involve slugging. Just play normally and you still get it. Saves both of you that final walk to a hook and puts a cherry on top of each 4K.

I think boons could've worked as op perks if only they actually worked like hexes where there is a high risk in losing it for the entire round but a huge reward output where it could also win you the game, my idea was if the killer snuffed it the boon would punish the survivor respectively to the buff they were bringing into the match such as maybe being broken for a minute ,showing your location and breaking the totem if the boon was snuffed.

the best thing i remember about 4.4.0 ptb was seeing people take victor hostage because there was no recall or anything at the time (or maybe people just didnt know how to use it) so someone could just get pounced on by victor and then just hide away the whole match and deny twins any power at all Side note: Im surprised 7.0.0 ptb pyramid head wasnt talked about because the outroar from him applying torment with a power hit was crazy

as far i know, chainsaw overheat were made to nerf bubba because face camping, altough for some reason they thought hillbilly was also face camping, a killer that literally is not made for camping. so they decided to nerf the hell out of him too.

I hope they are able to revisit the Finisher Mori or Mori's in general. I liked the idea a lot! But the execution well...speaks for itself. I just want them to implement Moris in a more natural way that is not oppressive, maybe making the yellow Mori basekit would be a good start? (by that point the Killer might as well have won)

The Twins' PTB was even worse because while Victor *couldn't* shut survivors in lockers, he was supposed to be able to. It was bugged, and the devs acknowledged that it was supposed to be there and it wasn't, and then it still wasn't there when they released. Real disappointing stuff, and it's about the time I starred drifting away from the game.

I know it isn’t a big problem but buff Self-Care even a bit. It was nerfed to the ground for almost no reason. In my opinion I think it should have you heal at 50% speed and any healing speed increases are halved. So with botany you’d only heal 25% faster instead of 50% faster.

even after all these years, I still firmly think that the old, pre-4.5.0 healthy running animation for survivors was just better. granted, I do think the current injured running is better, but man that old healthy run was just... it felt and looked better. I thought so when it was first changed, and I still believe that to be the case. It just became too stiff in my opinion.

The twins is not actually bad or needing a rework they just need to *feel* less crap Quicker switching, light haste to get to survivors victor has downed, less time that victor can be kicked, less time you can hold victor hostage, less clunky camera movement on switch, etc etc

Maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but 7.5.0 PTB was my most hated one. As much as I used to love going against Hillbilly, I didn't have any fun versing him anymore with his chainsaw getting massively buffed. I quickly got tired of versing him every single match and ending the game within 5 minutes.

What are you talking about? They went from mediocre killer whose only strength is slugging to insanely good killer whose 1 of many strengths is slugging. They made the core problem they were trying to fix even more of an issue. It would be like giving nurse reduced cooldown after a successful blink hit.

If their goal was to stop the slugging playstyle for twins they would have been better off making victor take downed survivors back to charlotte. I mean the gremlin resurrected from the dead surely he can drag that one jeff back to charlotte

With all these twins changes let's not forget that they made Haddonfield one of the worst maps in the game ? Like I am glad they removed some really strong loops but like they completely gutted most things on this map and replaced them with pallets that are more a detriment than actually a help in chases. Like they arr awful. And the map also looks terrible now.

@@redsoldier3884 While I think the concept of different trap types would be cool, I think Trapper being the way he is now fits the game because he's not only the game's mascot but also the first killer that newcomers will find.

The worst part about the Twins changes is that it's not a rework. Nothing substantially changed about their playstyle. It's a balance patch, not a rework.
