This was our first time to experience the famous Sinulog festival as the #Vlogsquad travels to the island of Cebu, Philippines. We tried the food around the area, then went to a parade, and ended the night partying on the streets with paint in our faces and beer in our hair. This would get crazy and out of control! “Pit Señor” is the short form of “Sangpit sa Señor,” a phrase in Cebuano that means, “to call, ask, and plead to the king.” This call for help brings believers together in the crowded streets of Cebu every third Sunday of January.

So i just learnt from Daniel's Vlog that they weren't able to experience the street dancing parade (Mardi Gras) because they scheduled their return flight on that same day. Paintensity lang na puntahan nila. Sayang naman. Parang it defeated the purpose of them going to Cebu for Sinulog but they really weren't able to experience the actual Sinulog itself.

Pit comes from the word Sangpit (Call) Senyor for Señor Sto.Niño (Batang Hesus). Since it is his feast. We call out to him or pray to him. Thus the term Pit Senyor! :)

pit señor is a shortened version for "isangPIT ni SEÑOR" which means "plead it to the king." so if you have prayers/petitions, then you'd want to sangpit ni señor. over the years it became an iconic greeting among the locals. then viva señor santo niño means long live the holy child jesus :)
