As a standard Andy the typical counter to ranged sledges I would typically go for is marksmen, or take to the air with boats, or production factories. That's why he's building marksmen to go with the sledges and not storms like you expected. Because the best answers to ranged sledges are typically answered by marksmen.
play standard, play standard, play standard... holymolly !!! Round 7 : Rhino lvl 7 flanking + 4 crawlers front line + 4 wasp becon straight line to the tower ! I'AM THE DANGER SKYLER !
the marksman thing was weird but i guess he was forestalling arclight and overlord which would've been my best non-aggro ideas heckin sledgies, bad on my side and too good on the opponent's side
Speaking of Standard, would you be interested in maybe doing a tutorial on the different playstyles and their usual starts/tactics? E.g. Standard, Aggro etc. I personally feel like I struggle knowing when to deploy in what way and how to transition from the starting deployment into the later stages of the game.
Wow, these are the games that show Rat is good and I am not. That's one crazy turn around and an even crazier composition to win a game that looked totally lost.
I think the debuff on the wraith is still ok. Best roll for it is support for melee units and defense against melee units(and steelballs). Second upgrade always range.
He had the front of his tower open to stormcaller on the line cheese for a long time I think if you stole a round with that you would have had an easy time of it. He leveled the tower so you can adjust the timing of the pop by choosing elite storm or regular.
If I can delay a bit, a little success with a transition of wraith into worms and then wasps against massed sledges. Which seems most doable if you are cost control/aerial/giant spec, or already have a high cost to sell. I think the rhinos did something similar. It immediately forces the game into a different stage.
Would you be able to do a vid on unit synergies? which sort of team comps work well? really enjoying your content and how you explain doing x because y, but I feel like I'm trying to counter opponent too often and need a steady group of units for late game
This is the sort of game where it feels like sandworms should be viable in. Have them arrive late and eat the sledgies then dive again. Strike seems like a decent tech for it. then maybe mech rage, armor and underground maintenance for the other techs.
@Fadeways agreed! Crawler timing would have needed to be later, so probably wouldn't work with the current board state. Rhinos probably wouldn't have worked as well either without the crawlers there. I just love the thematic feeling of final charge! Lol
i would have gone fortress shield or fang shield to pretect the fangs for a bit and more storms or scorpion artillery or range i like fortress shield because he went splash storms and the have less damage to take down fort shields
Well played, 4x wasp into 4 rhino was an insane play to start on the aggression! If you were defending that would something like lv2 emp hackers be good or do you think there was too much momentum?
The problem with hackers, would be the subsidized stormcallers and extended range tanks counters also the hackers, the only ways was close combat and aggresive. playing defensive will result in lose due to the improvements given
Thanks for the video. Slightly unrelated question, but I lost a game to a turn 1 scorpion + Mustang start (Quick supply). Is there a counter to this? Normally I go air against scorpions, but paired with Mustangs made it weird to deal with.
Yes if he did it early enough. It's bad in long range games. The reason why i did this was the mustang drop, he will 100% take it and the armor rhino will brick his whole board
I was probably talking about standard games. Like long range games. In those overlords and wraiths are never good, but phoenix and wasp are. In aggressive deployments / when defending wraiths are S tier and overlords are pretty good situationally
@@SurreyEZ haha thanks for your answer. I am only a new player with 1200mmr.And I trust you when you say that but i don't know exactly why/respectively it makes no sense for me as a starter (I struggle with enemy mass overlord for example when I got no farseer) But thx for the explanation.
