Time to get Reapered on the show, let him tell about his coachingstyle and the differences between the previous C9 team he coached, and the current one :)
Meatytoes has been talking about the bo2 double header a lot. I wasn't convinced at first but I think I am now. Single round robin feels really punishing to teams like Dignitas which have the potential to level up a lot during the regular season. Playing teams like C9 at the start hurt them more than playing them at the end of the season, I think. Double round robin bo2s with each team taking blue side sounds like a fantastic structure to me. Game count matters so even ties won't feel as bad because you can still see which teams are more competitive during the regular season.
best of 3s is the way but we need a double round robin if they can't figure out how to do 2 rounds of bo3s, try doing 1 round of bo1 and 1 round of bo3s.
I mean, the latter format sounds almost like the current LEC format - single round bo1 into an 8 team playoff of bo3s into a bo5 playoffs. Plus not entirely sure how feasible double round is going to look with the calendar being split into 3 splits next year around the 3 internationals. If anything, bo3 single round here is likely a litmus test for continuing it for all three splits next year, with the addition of fearless draft to it once this format is solidified.
@@Mrryn With 3 splits, I don't mind single round too much, but when there is 3 weeks off in the middle of a single round robin split.. what's the heckin' point?
@@KGCMX Blame Riot going for the blood money. EWC fucked things up. It was the reason they changed the days of the last games, so the teams going (FLY and TL) had extra time to prep, fly and adjust. One weekend to fly over and adjust and practice in SA, play in the actual event the next weekend, fly back and readjust to LA the next, and then settle back into scrims for the upcoming games which is where the teams are now. It sucks but at the very least, it was only two weekends worth of games missed. Which in a bo3 format only amounts to each time getting one extra series against 2 of the other teams. But if they didn't have to schedule around the event, I feel that a double round would have been workable. Needing to have to work that time in meant biting the bullet and settling for just the single round.
Lane swaps are only valid if the bot lane has a horrific matchup and it’s still not as effective as having winning lanes, unless you’re sacking for scaling. So, it’s not really that prevalent in LCK/LPL because those teams are better at punishing than LEC/LCS. SO, lane swaps only suck for viewers if each team knows every move to create a stalemate.
"it's too expensive, budget issues so there's not more games" well here's a novel idea, get out of California? Moves from Cali: Hmm. The amount of money we have somehow just doubled?! Who woulda thunk it! Not directed at Blaber, directed at riot*
