Kris Dunn was the 5th overall pick of the 2016 NBA draft, but he did not have a great rookie season. Not many people know about Dunn's incredible journey - from his street gambling as a kid to becoming one of the best college players in the country. I went to New London High School with him. Never was too close but everyone in the city loves him. I remember being at his game where he scored his 2000th point and the game stopped as we gave him a standing ovation. I hope he has a breakthrough year he really works hard.

So your telling me the mum was so prideful she couldn't even call the dad, from jail, knowing her kids were alone, unbelievable, those boys are warriors, she must have been on drugs, its not rational behaviour. Kids have to fend for themselves a lot in developing countries where this story is even more familiar. I wish them all the best.

Really, a woman with two young kids ran away from a good father? Give me a break!! Notice Kris has her last name too and not his father’s. Plus why didn’t he try to find them before. He sure did once he put some effort into it. And while his boys were starving in VA he had a “nice living” in CT, how sweet! Well I’m glad he came around but Pia seems to be the hero here, doing what she had to do to take care of her boys. I hope Kris continue on a successful path.
