Movie's a solid 7.25/10, had a LOT of potential and could have been better-but it unfortunately missed the marks on some aspects. Visuals are probably the best thing along with the established world. Garreth Edwards did some solid work with the cinematography and delivering such stunning visuals with a "cheap" camera (in comparison to the standard Hollywood camera). His keen ability of "scale" benefited in making the NOMAD feel like a genuine threat (to an extent), and in part, making the world feel real. Having a small, manageable crew, traveling to 80 different locations to film on, utilizing a real, tangible set/environment rather than relying on a digitally generated set (green screens/blue screens), and using CGI and other digital effects to enhance an already grounded film serve as key characteristics that set this movie apart from other blockbusters. Oh, and using natural lighting, colour-grading, utilizing shadows, light contrasts-those definitely helped the film visually as well. However, the story/writing department of this movie needed more time and editing. The pacing felt strange and inconsitent, the world that they established felt under-utilized, the antagonist/threat of the movie needed a bit more fleshing out, characters that were important did not necessarily feel important, and not enough time or exposition was used to help establish key characters or plotlines of the story. At least 35% of the movie felt like it was a drawn-out chase scene where nothing too notable or significant was revealed to the audience. They could have devoted that time into expanding the world, honing more into the AI issue such as the Western vs Eastern perception of AI. Or maybe they could have done something small that could have added to the story. Maybe have a bonding moment between Alphie & Joshua, have them witness an altercation that challanges Joshua's morals-or any minute event so that we can _see_ and _feel_ their reaction, which makes the audience understand their character more and care for them. There's so many things they could have done to enrich the story-ascpet of this movie. Small, _minor_ things could have been done that would have made the tiniest-yet beneficial changes to better the story. It's really disappointing to see the potential that could have been there, but is not there. The music was solid, Hans Zimmer doesn't fail to deliver. The beach scene is probably my favourite in this movie just 'cause of the soundtrack that plays in the background; I am a sucker for strings, but that particular soundtrack gives me goosebumps. I was pleasantly surprised to hear "Everything In Its Right Place" by Radiohead in this movie. Songs that lean more into the "experimental" side of Radiohead don't get a lot of love in the spotlight, so it was nice to hear something else instead of "Creep" 😂 Once again, 7.25/10, may be biased because of the visual aspects/behind-the-scene strives of innovation this movie has made; I take into account _how_ the movie is made as well, not just the end product. Otherwise, I think that's a fair rating for the movie.

@@C-Crystal2002 Yeah I initially thought so to, but the nuke crater when you look at the video appears to be adjacent to the Santa Monica Freeway where the barrier is following. The destruction appears to be on the otherside. I thought it was the University and Museum area but its a little further down. Looking at the footage I can say the epicenter of the nuke was at Hoover and 27th street. Given the size of the crater I would say it was underground but still a sizable nuke explosion. Also those odd looking towers likely blocked much of the initial heat and blast wave on the tower.

Garbage and yet it had so much potential. If this movie would have been made in the 90s, (without all of today’s agendas) it could have been a classic.

Saw it in theatres and will be buying the streaming version! The behind the scenes also spawned my new video accessory product so thanks to Gareth Edwards / Greg Frazier & team 🤍 For those who say the movie is tanking they clearly don’t understand the dynamics of the industry nor appreciate the fact that this film was released during the actor’s strikes so they were not permitted to promote the movie.

The story could have been better; more exposition, better pacing, more attention to characters/character dynamics, etc etc. Visually? Well, it's obvious what that answer is. Stunning. Just stunning. I'm very much aware of nearly all the behind-the-scenes effort and achievements this movie made, which makes me appreciative of this movie moreso. But, this movie fell short from what it could have been. It had potential, but I'm not too mad with what we have, just a bit disappointed.

Refused to promote the movie you mean. A union that forces people to do something isn't using collective bargaining, it's using intimidation and force, and needs shutting down.
