“Politically incorrect” used to just mean you were cheeky and just poked fun in jest and at the end of the day, was never truly hurtful and all walked away with a good laugh or chuckle. Nowadays, people are using it to just be dicks and hurtful under a “protected” umbrella.

I can under stand how it makes you feel last year I went to a dentist who botched my teeth so bad they chipped several of teeth and they couldn’t even fix a bad tooth and root canal I had . I literally had a nice smile now it’s crooked and my jaw and gumline so low you can see my jaw bone

not just doctors but nurses too! there's a whole issue with high school bullies/mean girls going into the nursing field and keeping that same shitty energy when dealing with patients and coworkers. way too many assholes and bullies in the medical field, it's disgusting!

The casting couch joke grossed me out then he started joking about baby daddies… 🤢 as someone who has really bad teeth. Like REALLY bad bc of the medication I take for a disorder that affects my bones. Including my teeth. And I’d rather live with them as they are than go near someone like that. There’s joking and there’s being grossly unprofessional and that was the latter.

@@myliza700 YES. I have ectodermal dysplasia, I’m missing a LOT of teeth (I think like a total of 18) and had additional teeth ruined by a shitty dentist. My friends, nor any partner has ever seen me without a retainer/partial because it’s my biggest insecurity. You could not pay me to allow him to fix my shit.

@@daddy4967 The only thing I’m grateful for is that my top teeth are the worst and I have bigger lips so I just don’t smile with my teeth. I’d rather keep doing that than get them fixed by him. Even his original post was gross. I don’t believe it was someone else but him responding

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@Common-Senseium, yeah, it should. the phrase ‘healthcare is a human right’ definitely includes dental health care. any medical care in the US causes more financial and emotional stress on the individual rather than if we were on a national healthcare program. which i’m pretty sure is the underlying issue that OP was getting at. i’d want my money to go towards roads and healthcare for all rather than anything that wouldn’t improve a person’s quality of life, that feels like a given

Seriously. My teeth are fvcked. No drug use or anything like that (not that it matters tbh but not my story)... I got the shit end of the genetic gamble. I'm so so so insecure about them. When I was in the Army and we were getting ready to deploy, we had to go to a dentist in front of everyone else in a rotation of medical and dental people in this big gymnasium. No partition or anything. The dentist made so many awful comments, I got up out of the chair and walked out. I didn't even care if I would get in trouble. Thankfully the Command Sergeant Major was very kind and didn't make me go back. He also brought in a partition so no one else would have to deal with that. Not only can I not afford treatment, I'm afraid to go as I've gotten so many awful comments from dentists before. Idk what I'm gonna do but it's guys like him that make me very hesitant to even reach out for help. I even have ok dental insurance but what I need is not covered of course. I've added a rider to my policy to pay for more but embarrassment keeps me from finding a dentist to go to. Sorry to trauma dump and the long comment...I just know exactly what you're saying, personally.

Absolutely. Your smile can ultimately make or break your confidence. Dental care is so expensive and so many things can impact your mouth and teeth and a lot of the time, things out of your control. It’s definitely not an area to approach with the air of roasting someone or condescension. People have really lost the ability to truly, genuinely empathize or they function out of personal intentions while appearing altruistic. I used to have a beautiful smile and it was something everyone complimented and told me was my best feature; it’s now turned into something that can make me cry on a dime, and I refuse to do, no more beaming pictures, no more showing my teeth at all after many medical issues, chemo, medical steroids, etc. so not only did I lose my health but it took my smile with it. I’d probably never recover if I were roasted like this.

What about all the other women who became victims to this? Do we protect them too? Or ignore them because they aren’t “famous” like MamaTot. I think everyone deserves to be protected. Unless said person is a PoS
