NGC6888 The Crescent Nebula
Working in Collaboration with Joe and Russell we gathered 30hrs of HOO data on the Crescent Nebula and have in my opinion produced our best image to date.
It was great fun working as a team and I think the results are fantastic.
Please check out Joe and Russell's RU-vid channels as they both have great content.

ProLogik balance meter and tuning tool
www.prologik-a...
The meter is of a high quality and works really well. Not only is it great for helping to find perfect balance in stiff mounts but it is a fantastic aid to fine tuning your mount for the best guiding. It will assist you in adjusting your worm drive/gear mesh to the optimum setting and giving you great smooth tracking and excellent guiding numbers.

do the narrowband fliter makes the stars so pinpoint or sharp?or you did any post-process?
@Astrobloke
@Astrobloke 3 года назад
Good Narrowband filters will help with your stars . Cheaper ones can cause star bloat or halos. Good Guiding is also essential for tight stars.
@yangyunbo1
@yangyunbo1 3 года назад
@@Astrobloke yea i found my narrowband filters cause the halo 😭
@Astrobloke

How difficult was it to combine different fields of view?
@Astrobloke
@Astrobloke 3 года назад
Not difficult at all. I use astropixelprocessor to do all my stacking and the program integrates data from different scopes, cameras etc seamlessly. I then take those masters into Pixinsight as that is a more accomplished post editing suite.
@michaelclem3339

That's a great picture, but how do you get rid of all of the Milky Way stars? My color camera picture doesn't compare to yours, but it's full of stars! Where did yours go??? www.cloudynights.com/uploads/gallery/album_16496/gallery_356740_16496_1161839.jpg (Sorry if this is a duplicate post, it seems my first one didn't take...???)
@Astrobloke
@Astrobloke 3 года назад
The narrowband filters knock down the stars a lot. That region can be quite overpowered by the number of stars you can pick up. Our fov is quite tight as well which also helps
@Astrobloke
@Astrobloke 3 года назад
Did you use any filter?
@jasonmcintosh2632
@jasonmcintosh2632 3 года назад
@@Astrobloke No filter. Just straight QHY168C color camera (on a C9.25 edge w 0.7x reducer). I'm just learning this stuff. I struggle to collimate and track... But life's a struggle. I have a Ha and O-III filter that I can play around with. Which would you recommend trying first? I guess I could try an hour of each... but they'd be going onto my color camera. I don't have a mono. Maybe one day. Thank you for the reply! It sure seems like you had a lot of fun doing this. : )
@Astrobloke
@Astrobloke 3 года назад
@@jasonmcintosh2632 yes it was a lot of fun. You won’t quite get the same results with a osc but the filters would help you just pick out the gases in the nebula and tone down the stars. I have seen some good results with the L Extreme dual narrowband filter.
@jasonmcintosh2632
@jasonmcintosh2632 3 года назад
@@Astrobloke Doing my best to follow your advice, I used two low end 1.25" Ha and O-III filters on my color camera and added those images into my full color image of the nebula. With some heavy cropping I came up with this. It's a big improvement for me. Thank you! www.cloudynights.com/uploads/gallery/album_16496/gallery_356740_16496_544246.jpg
