Given that anything said or done inside Parliament cannot be called into question by any court of law of the land, the constitutionality i.e. the constitutional validity or otherwise however, of all that’s said or done within the precincts of either house of Parliament, which is the National Assembly and Senate in case of Pakistan, has of necessity, to be adjudicated upon and decided finally, by the country’s apex court i.e. The Supreme Court of Pakistan under both jurisdictions, Original Jurisdiction - whether suo moto, or Appellate Jurisdiction - in response/as a follow-up to a petition filed by whoever, to this effect. Notwithstanding, The Supreme Court simply, cannot wash their hands off/avoid/shy away from its constitutional obligation, by just saying that they don’t want to interfere with the parliamentary proceedings/procedures for, at the end of the day, the responsibility for the interpretation of the constitution, or the provisions thereof, ultimately lies with the Supreme Court fairly and squarely, I thought. For the present, Imran Khan, who at best, can only be described as an interim, lame duck PM, appears to have succeeded in precipitating a political/constitutional crisis in Pakistan that he always wanted to do, and has been mulling over for quite sometime, should the situation come to a crunch where he’s made to face the likely prospect/suffer the ignominy of losing the vote of no-confidence moved by a combined strength of a majority of the political entities in opposition, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) headed by the current president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman. Therefore, any inexplicable dithering, vacillation, procrastination or even circumvention of the rules or procedure for the sake of convenience or expedience, on the part of The Supreme Court of Pakistan whether done or resorted to, (un)wittingly, unusually, mischievously or even mysteriously, and for failing on whatever stated account or grounds, to deliver a clear, explicit, unambiguous or unequivocal verdict by a full bench either way, so as to address the issues at stake ernestly, has the potential to present the people of Pakistan, with a fait accompli instead of enforcing/upholding the rule of law as well as dispensing justice to the peoples that they deserve in an avowed democratic set-up. As far as India is concerned, she simply, can’t remain immune from, or impervious to the rather adverse/negative/detrimental effects, repercussions, and a possibly unintended political fall out for long, from the current goings-on/state of confusion, disorder, uncertainty, and the political turmoil in her immediate neighbourhood, I’m afraid. 😭😟

His government values close collaboration with China, and seek openings with all countries of the region including Russia and the maintenance of good relations with West . Imran Khan has in the past sought to normalize contacts with India subject to an honest dialogue on Kashmir recognizing UNSC resolutions and the will of Kashmiris. Religion is no obstacle necessarily, if minorities are treated as equal citizens in law and practice, these besides common challenges such as widespread poverty, environment and soluble issues of water allocation, Siachin and Creek. It's amazing to see that Najam Sethi states that Imran's popularity hasn't risen. Probably he didn't notice the biggest ever crowd in Islamabad on the 27th of March and didn't see the immediate effect of his speech in KPK local bodies election. If you keep on inviting such pre-disposed journalists, you will hear what you like to hear instead of what is the real situation on the ground. This is not what Karan Thapar's interviews are famous for.

Godi viewers are very large in numbers and Karan has to play to gallery. Sethi is a proven dakoo and pro nawaz for reasons STop crying sethi sahib, go for elections. Imran has become immensely popular among masses.

To your question, Karan, do Pakistanis buy the argument that US conspired with the Opposition to oust Imran Khan, the answer is YES. In case Supreme Court upholds dissolution of the National Assembly and ushers in a caretaker government pending elections in 3 moths, mark our word, Imran Khan would emerge a winner with higher numbers than before. Thapar Ji, Najam Sethi is a person know for his bias agains PM Imran Khan, he has predicted at least at 30 different occasion the end of Imran Khan's gouvernement. He didn't mention, why Speaker was not allowed to chair the session, because the Opposition filed a MNC against him as well. At least in theory his desire has been fulfilled, now why the Opposition is scared of facing Imran Khan in an election?

No 'crisis' in Pakistan Mr Karan Thapar.... Pls don't dramatise issues and accord avoidable significance to non issues. Such events are routine in Pakistan and nothing to get alarmed about... 'what next' kind of concern there is absolutely absurd, apart from perhaps your obsession about Pakistan... Please relax and don't get hyper/over involved.. Such events are quite routine, I repeat. So please chose better themes/subjects for coverage than Pakistan And if not, you may also kindly consider retirement.

The apex court cannot refute or revoke or hold upon the ruling of national Assembly 's speaker, period. Now you may mince words and juggle around "it's a historic moment for judiciary" or likes of that but at the end of the day judiciary can't overrule any ruling of speaker. So don't misguide the audience.

Unlike most other democracies, it's, infact, the army, which uses to call the shots in Pakistani politics - be it Islander Mirza, Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, Zia Ul Haque, Parvez Mussaraf, or the current incumbent - Qamar Bajwa - for instance - among others ! Whosoever is in power, army is required to be kept in good humour, so as to have a smooth sailing throughout, without any interruption, whatsoever ! The current political development In Pakistan is nothing other than a repetition of the history ! The sequence of events in the lndian History will amply testify to this historical fact !
