I just admire the fact that when Siskel and Ebert first trade punches, they both don't look hurt, just mildly annoyed and angry, which makes it absolutely hilarious.
What makes this scene great is that their argument was not just a couple of jokes: Ebert really *DID* like BENJI THE HUNTED, and Siskel really *DID* like CARNOSAUR! LOL
Funny thing is _Benji the Hunted_ is a heartfelt Disney classic while _CARNOSAUR_ was just Corman's way to take advantage of Jurassic Park's popularity.

The best reviews were when they both didn't like a film, but disliked it for different reasons. "The movie was bad because of this and this!" "You're crazy, that was fine, this is the real reason the movie was terrible."

reminds me of the arguments that me and my big brother have from time to time. He once said that Blade Runner is very overrated and i am like "coming from the guy who liked the first transformers movie?" And he counters with "coming from the guy who liked Kingdom of the Crystal Skull?" Thankfully, there was never violence involved. I love my brother. :D

I had no idea Jay Sherman was from another series. I'd only seen him in the Simpsons before now and he stuck in my mind from the Wolfcastle scene. I guess The Critic wasn't a thing in the UK when I was growing up.
i don't care what anybody says. I had always thought that the critic was a great show when it first came and I enjoyed watching it as well. It was great while it lasted too. It's a shame, The critic should had went up to six season instead of only two. I was told the reason they took it off the air at the time because of very low ratings. I think they could have been wrong about that but it is what it is.
My reaction to The amazing Spider-man as it was a pointless reboot that didn't need to be made as it copy the same plot to the 2002 spider-man film the plot with peter parents made me feel of hey arnold and the lizard is just a doc ock like replacement
See, the real irony of this comment (apart from the fact that BR2049 is actually a great movie) is the fact that Ebert probably wouldn't care or be disappointed in 2049 either way, cuz he didn't care much for the original Blade Runner in the first place.
