I recently completed reading the direct translation of the Critical Edition of "Valmiki Ramayana".
This series is the direct translation of the oldest manuscript of the Ramayana in existence in the world today. It has been translated from Sanskrit to English by Dr. Bibek Debroy. The ancient Sanskrit manuscript itself is in the archives of the BORI (Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute) in Pune, India.
This work was highly rewarding for me, as I was able to read a manuscript that is many millennia old. Today's video is an impromptu talk, where I discuss this work and also the world of Ramayana interpretations throughout literary history.
