The Cook Out Southern 500 starts the 2023 NASCAR Playoffs. What they will miss are some familiar faces, especially with the changing of the guard in terms of competitive drivers and teams. Chase Elliott, Ty Gibbs, Alex Bowman, Austin Cindric, and Daniel Suarez highlight this unconventional non playoff class. im near positive that after Briscoe got hit with the penalty, they were using his car as a test car and were giving him more inexperienced pit crew guys for training. He should be running that 10th-15th mark, its baffling his performance just vanished after the penalty.

I think an overlooked aspect of this whole playoff situation is that the next gen car has made more drivers competitive, in turn making the sport more entertaining to watch. It’s good to see a playoff cutoff battle and more winners, exactly what we needed

Makes me wonder if Chase is fully healed up, physically and mentally, from the snowboard accident though, and wonder if there's more going on than we know about either with Chase or HMS

I think he's still revovering. He missed six races to injury, one to suspension, and if not for two or three really bad races could have pointed into the playoffs. That's pretty stout. Now, I figure that there will be changes with the 9 team this offseason, I think Gustafson will be replaced because the team just always seemed slightly off. Yeah they usually managed decent results, but the car just lacked speed at the start... Then there is that debacle of running out of gas at Watkins Glen.

The entire 9 team has been slow this season and especially struggle at Gateway. Corey would've been better off in his usual ride.

Austin isn't just happy too be their or else he wouldn't be upset when he gets wrecked or wrecks himself he's just not as good as everyone else..it's austin Dillon in the slow lane..carson hocevar didn't outrun lajoie most of the race he crashed himself out a 4th of the race through so now everyone taughts him as a hot prospect when he just finally learned too win in a truck this year but still wrecks people when it's convenient, see what he does in the 42 if he finishes

Dale jr mentioned the price for a charter is too much. Right now there’s 1 charter that is willing to take offers but not willing to give it up. That was a few races ago. Spire -77 Live fast- 78 They need to really improve. Ty Dillon is not helping spire. He can improve Rick ware’s 2 cars and live fast. But not spire. Honestly I think Ty Dillon should join rwr or go to live fast. Have to wait and see what happens

Unpopular opinion: Aric was never good. Austin was never good. Preece and briscoe was never good. Idk why yall are surprised. You make these guys seem SOO talented because of where they were in the previous series. Tebow was amazing. But then he got in the big boy seat with no excuses and didn’t deliver 🤷🏻

I think after his injury and surgery he did some soul searching. I don’t see him racing more than a couple years or when his current contract expires.

Why would he retire!? He's 28 and has many years ahead of him! Just because he got hurt then had a bad season don't mean he should give up on racing! Kyle Busch didn't give up on racing when he broke his leg and came back an even better driver.
