As someone who grew up on the books, then ditched school to go see the movie on release day, it's great to have James' commentary to listen along with. Just fantastic. Thanks for posting!
I want Paramount to care more for this movie than Forest Gump and Pulp Fiction. I want Paramount to release the 30th Anniversary Unrated Extended Cut, featuring over 11 minutes of never-before-seen footage and at least one scene of the Skull Cowboy, as well as explaining some plot holes such as why Eric had his arms and torso wrapped with black tape after killing Funboy and why Skank was limping after leaving the store. The unrated 30th Anniversary Cut could be released in select theaters in RealD 3D, IMAX, 4DX, Dolby Cinema, RPX, and Cinemark XD, complete with a special introduction by James O'Barr and a special Brandon Lee tribute.
James is awesome. Down to earth and very funny ,intelligent man. Had the privilege to hang out with him last may. Learned alot of great stuff. The new one is shit. They keep making these films so he wont get the rights back. So. If he's at a con go see him. He's as cool and as interesting as he is on this.
I’m so glad to hear the skill cowboy was not something he wrote in the comic or was needed. As soon as I saw/heard of that character it would have put this movie in a totally different view. It would have been way too “out there”. The story works way better without it and the audience doesn’t need the exposition. I was 7 when I saw this and I was not at all confused. Hollywood execs are sometimes so out of touch (some would say stupid). This was probably the most enlightening commentary I’ve listened to. Love this movie!
This commentary is absolutely brilliant! Loved it! Found out so much from James O’ Barr. What a tortured soul but really insightful. Thanks for this! 😉👍🏻
James is a cool guy. Met him at a book signing back in the mid to late 2000 at Dark Delicacies in Burbank ca. I told him the story that i saw his first print in 1989 San Jose ca at a local comic book store. I read the book and loved it and said to my girl friend at the time, this would make a great film starring Brandon Lee. I was a big Bruce Lee fan and I knew his son Brandon was an upcoming actor… So it was weird and cool for me when i heard Brandon was cast for the lead in the Crow… And tragic what happened to Brandon. The Crow film will always be the best. And the new 2024 film looks terrible. They should have just made the book exactly what was written by James O’Barr vision of the Crow. Which to me its a great story and better than the film. Thank you for sharing.
I've actually got a rough cut on VHS. The quality is not great, but a lot of the cut scenes were in it. I REALLY hope it gets one too! With the new revamp plus the anniversary coming, I'm crossing my fingers along with ya.
@@trueaspect5888 it's before any music was added and a lot of the ADR/ sound effects weren't done yet. Very rough cut, but it's interesting to see what got left out
@@Phil-ey6yh You would be doing a service to the Crow community if you got some of the footage transferred over to digital and some of the less know scenes uploaded to RU-vid.
hi my son was looking for the crow comic books at a comic book store but they didn't have any amazon Had some because it is an older comic maybe a friend and my son keep looking for the crow at comic book stores thanks for sharing your video
When talking about the cops after the shootout, their dialogue is bizarre, "what the crap, that's all she wrote, move and we shoot" never once heard a real police officer say that...
I agree, at least about "what the crap" That's shit you say in a TV movie since you can't swear. But The Crow was full of profanity, so it makes no sense and sounds lame tbh. The move and we shoot line is fine though I think
