I thought the same until I watched it multiple times. The first guy rhythm is genius and so is the second but the second guy was lost a few times as the music transitioned.
I was so impressed by Soraki’s dance! When I saw the whole video many many times, I have noticed that with Crown’s dance, Soraki’s dance became the next level. Crown did very well, too. However, yeah Crown fans on the stage are not really impressed 😅 although Crown himself seemed to enjoy the battle with Soraki very much!
I am a 70 year old lady so you know this is not my style of dancing but I love to watch different styles because I enjoy viewing the creativity. This young man from Japan is amazing! He dances to the music, the breaks in the music, the slowdowns, the increase of the speed, and he dances with a sense of humour. How he contorts his body in those positions just making it look so natural, never missing a beat.He has a gift and we all get to enjoy it.
"I'm Coming Out" is his all-time favorite song. In an interview, he did mention he prefers pop music and he also expressed that it was more difficult to dance to what can be considered more African rhythms which I thought was interesting. But you can see a lot of pop influence in his dance that many people will recognize upping his relatability✨
Soraki is DIFFERENT. Makes a lot more sense why he won after seeing this specific battle (which was good enough to be the finals). As much as I would have liked DaVinci to win or The Crown, Soraki was the cleanest dancer with the fewest flaws and never seemed to be tired. If anything I am surprised that the audience voted correctly so shoutouts to South Africa.
Yeah the d soraki deserved the champ title, he just mesmerize everybody and he really looks like he is just dancing and enjoying it as if he is not in a competition.
Glad he won; I watched all his rounds. He has great musicality and crowd appeal. He seems to use all his time wisely, has great floor work and footwork. His fluidity and flexibility are off the charts.
I felt like this - the Crown/DSoraki battle - was the real final. Both these dancers are amazing: musical, fluid, and fierce - and both exhibit so much joy in dancing. The whole World Finals was a pleasure to watch but this contest was intense. Also, Soraki dancing to "I'm coming out" was a highlight for me. He embodied that song.
That 1st round was SOO GOOD!!! I'd seen The Crown's performance circulating online, and I couldn't imagine how D Soraki could win over that. Now I see both their performances were insane! I love how they fed off of and challenged each other, and how D Soraki's 1st round performance seemed influenced and inspired by The Crown's before him for more of an answer-response. And not only that did they interact with each other but they both interacted with the crowd as well. This was a great match-up of skill, musicality, and performance. (Not to mention a great song to inspire it!)
Beautifully said: Susana Zhong and that part; "I love how they fed off of and challenged each other, and how D Soraki's 1st round performance seemed influenced and inspired by The Crown's."
soraki just has the moments that make me replay it over and over again while still being able to body the rest of his performance. it’s absolutely insane
I totally agree b/c this is what I have to do with is battles on Dancefeed Korea...his moves are liquid gold that I can't catch them ..if you haven't checked him out there I recommend he is a monster there and not to mention bending gravity
100% agree! I recently read his interview after his winning in RB. I didn't know but he was accepted as a backup candidate by Poppin C. If Poppin C didn't cancel, Soraki wouldn't have been able to join. Insane!
@@itanaka2800 do you have a link to that interview? So is that what a wild card means that you are back up? I swear he's so amazing I can't believe the judges
musicality, the problem I've seen is that as dancers get better, sometimes they try to do more than what the beat is asking, sometimes it the flair of timing, and the move can be simple, but it'll be magnified by following the beat instead of fighting against it.
nahhhhh, the crown wasen't forcing them. They was all vibing and it was like a highschool party. Soraki is just smooooooooth and SOME of the audience went on their feet 👀
finally the full thing i was so curious about soraki's version of say my name because I'd seen the crown and he lost despite being that good. I wish they didn't face off this early in the competition would've loved to see the crown more. Soraki's a deserving winner though his musicality and flow >>>>>
@@melaniesaechao1788 i don't think that the OP is suggesting the result would be any different. What they are saying is that they wanted to see more of the crown in other battles that would have happened if he hadn't been eliminated early.
@@fromthesesamestreets Exactly. These two were so damn good, and the crowd new it and was at their most energetic. This really was the final before the final.
Soraki's technicality and form are next level and unmatched. Soraki's start and transitional end is masterfully executed. He's outright a dance prodigy and master at storytelling. He's hypnotic, captivating, thrilling and riveting all at the same time that time becomes relative as I'm in his time machine...where time has stood still in my reality.
@@kathyking2515 check him out in Feedback Korea 2022 he ate all the beats up and left no crumps...this man is a monster at dance. Never ever has a dancer captivate me more than him
1:50 the best moment for me. Soraki, who had shown flawless movements till that, attractively stopped his body at the very moment of the last chorus, and it took a few seconds for the audience to understnad what was happening.
Crown's first round was dope, but D Soraki is just on another level physically. It's like his body has a hundred extra bones that bend, stretch, and retract in a hundred different directions.
My favorite part of this d soraki first round was 1:52-2:00. If u look at each person in the crowd, all you see is pure happiness and enjoyment of that dance move😊
Felt like the crown would have been in the semis or maybe finals if he didn’t have to go against D soraki early in the competition. They both killed that first song together🤯 hit every beat in their own respective style👌🏼
100%. The women that made the top 8 were not great dancers compared to Sarah from Brazil/Spain, and Zoe from the US. I think her name is Zoe, she had the long long small braids and she ripped her pants during one of her qualifying battles. Not sure how Yoshi and Inxi made it so far. Just my opinion. King DaVinci was AMAZING too! That final battle with D Soraki was close!!! I was surprised South Africa didn't home town vote in their 2nd round of battles. Much respect to their country and their energy!
So true. The first round is possibly the only time I've seen someone manage to dance good enough to win the entire competition, only to be immediately and emphatically outclassed. No matter how good he is, it shouldn't have been possible for D Soraki to win that first dance so overwhelmingly after the performance Crown did.
Oh God, what a performance both of them, The first round was intense. There's something about Dsoraki's dance, his flow and On beat-moves are just PERFECTION.
I think I came to the conclusion that Soraki is a real dancer. His competitors treat each performance like a sports event and they're like elite athletes ready to dish out all their moves, pulling one trick after another, which are all amazing. Soraki is obviously supremely gifted athletically.... does he have bones?! But he dances like he's expressing the joy of dancing more so than any of his peers and he's always in tune with the music. The man has an innate sense of body rhythm. Other people performs, Soraki dances. Another thing from my observation is that Soraki is always able to maximize the extension of his limps in movement that creates a more visually dynamic presentation. Every hop, every stretch, every twist, everything is more extended as if he's an octopus in shock therapy! In short the young man is sui generis. I don't know anything about dancing and I am a fan.
Thank you South Africa for voting correctly! Agreed Soraki bends gravity and just couldn't imagine how Soraki could reply with Crown's first song but now Yes never in my wildest imagination could Soraki's reply be so technical and effortless with such musicality. I have to say the second song killed the mood for me. Would have loved to see a reggae beat for them to compete.
What I love about Soraki in all the RB battles is that he's not dancing like a back up dancer nor is he overdoing...he's REALLY DANCING EFFORTLESSLY which is what I think makes it magic. When he finishes his response I can't believe the time went b/c he's just so captivating and mesmerizing and hypnotic all in one. He literally melts into the music and just floats defying the laws of gravity.
@@patrickmcphee770 you dont need to bag D Soraki to build The Crown up, you know that right? The Crown was awesome but D Soraki was better. He has accepted it i'm sure. Soraki is better. Build a bridge
You perfectly described every detail of Mr. Soraki’s performance which I agree to the max! There's something like a magic that captivates the audience. Maybe not all, but I'm one of the audience that genuinely inspired by how he danced like no one else.
I don't understand why people are not talking about 1:10 to 1:20. All the parts are moving on their own, it's called the The Detachment. It signifies moving as you like, without thinking about any other thing. He did it perfectly.
Well done to both and thank you for this incredible battle. Soraki was just insane during the entire event, he became the music and took the crowd with him, well done champion. Can't wait to see The Crown taking his revenge back against Soraki. Best battle of the event for me. 🙏
The faces in the crowd behind soraki is hilarious. One guy filming looks like he's gonna cry, guy with his head in his hands in disbelief, guy with earbuds jaw is on the floor. I love just scanning the crowd lmao.
Almost everyone enjoyed him except they girl with the bucket had and the girl with the backwards cap 😂 Especially with the “im coming out” round. did you notice them? They were not happy at all
Yeah and most of them are all dancers that competed in earlier rounds - making it pretty impressive that fellow competitors are in awe of him. I especially love the reactions of dancers Doma (@domafrr), Caine (@caine._o)
The way soraki got into the flow of the music at the start, then preceeded to hit every beat of the music then switching up at the end was hella perfect.👏
That move at 1:32 was sooo groovy and smooth 👏🔥. That foot work at 3:39 is soo fast and his balance at 3:43 was insane 👏👏. His musicality is just out of this world!!! The way he flows perfectly with the lyrics and transitions from one move to another is absolutely incredible and beautiful where it starts at 1:28 👏❤️.
Soraki battled all day and was consistent with his performances for every battled👋👋👋👋👋 now that's a man that doesn't breathe the same air as we do when he's dancing! He was born to battle and let's talk about his flexibility..totally outer worldly!!! I hope LV, Balman, Channel, Fendi, Gucci, Adidas, Nike, go knocking on his door for a contract. He's definitely Beyonce material for artistic videos.
I read an interview with D Soraki in The Red Bull website. If I remember correctly, he said he already had got a proposal but he refused because he doesn't want to dance for singers (like backup, sorry English not my first language and don't remember the exact wording). He said he wanted dancers to have more recognition, he wanted to make shows where dancers were the main attraction because well dancing is an art too.
I'm a 59 year old white chick, who trained classically, and danced professionally. The D Soraki is unlike anything I've ever seen. The universe moves through his bones. I'm not sure he's even aware of what he's doing.
That first round is probably the best that I've seen in this competition. The Crown killed it, but Soraki's response was crazy. Soraki's "I'm coming out" dance is probably the most viral, but this one, in my opinion, is just as good.
The Crown is great but there’s something about D’Soraki that brings out joy when you watch him. His rhythm, his flow and his move is a visual representation of the song. This guy is a natural dancer.
It’s Soraki doing the bounce in the lyric “saying you got to bounce”. It’s like he knew he was building to that and timed it perfectly. He might be the greatest dancer I have ever seen
From what I can tell with the Les Twins, they are choreographed. They are still amazing but what Soraki does in all of these clips is like jazz. He is thinking about his moves a split second before he does them
Watching Soraki dance is mesmerising! The music, the beats are in every cell of his body and the way he moves is incredible. His family must be so proud of him.
Repeat the replay button for god knows how many times specially when soraki made the fills that ends with a slide after the chorus going to the second verse of the song. His footwork is Outrageous 🎉🎉
Soraki became one of my fave dancer so fast because of these dance battles he’s moves are just so mesmerizing and refreshing, i really like his musicality and his dance style, he just goes with the flow 😫
I’ve been waiting for this battle to come out, just to see Soraki’s reply to The Crown’s first round. First round battle was LEGENDARY, energy from both parties was amazing not to mention the MUSICALITY. ❤ Great video because we get to see the crowd’s reactions too!
If I'm going to be honest I'll reveal that this Soraki's is so dam calm and fearless. What I respect is that he gives his opponent 100% respect by continuously giving eye contact yet playful at the same time. He's so dam fast that I don't know what to watch fist..my eyes are going at the hand-the foot-the face in the end to find out that I missed one thing or the other and then it's endless replay. No one on YT gets me so intrigued to replay especially a dance move. Soraki your every step and move is a masterclass. You are water and you manipulate the air and gravity at you whim..1000% genius! Thank you for not giving on and dreaming of this day and thank you for inspiring me!
Did anyone notice when Soraki invited Crown to dance with him on the first song. This guy is very amazing and very friendly to those he has to dance against. ❤❤❤❤
You mean at 0:34? That's the battle aggression/challenge move, not inviting :) Same happens at 02:00. It's normal and not considered bad manners in battles.
@1:51 Soraki is on fire !!!! I cannot count the number of time/replay I did for this battle and everytime I watch it, I can always feel the vibe of both D Crown and D Soraki. I bet everyone does. The battle is so fluid that it felt like I am seeing it for the first time - all the time. I think this battle is one of the greatest in the semi's other than Soraki's moves with I'm comming out.
Yeah the guy had to take a few seconds to get himself together after that. That's why also Crown's 2nd song was lots of "default" moves, he just dance cause he had to keep the show going, rather than actually trying to win. The dude was shocked from that 1st round response.
Soraki's body seems to turn into melodies and beats as if he metaphorically becomes a human instrument. Then, he changes with each musical chord as though his soul transforms to embrace different lyrics and touch emotions like notes on sheet music 🎶💕🎶
facts Janet well said!!! Check him out in Feedback Korea the semi with Stagger and the Finals ...mind blowing and on point to what you say..get your snack ready to watch that competition. He lost there but it was just a clear win for him and the judging was bias..it was so so clear
Ok so Crown killed that. Both of these guys showcased top tier musicality, technique, and control. However in my experience as a dancer to have control at the absolute limits if your body's extension and range of motion is remarkable difficult and to see Soraki do that in freestyle is what put him on top for in this battle. You can tell he really explores his movement at his greatest extensions and lengths and that makes his movement so much more dynamic to me. having that level of dynamic of control from micro movements to full on extensions is unreal. 🤯 🤯
This should be The Grand Finals damn The Crown put a good fight against D soraki specially that round 1 my God he just killed it🔥🔥🔥 and oh man that 2nd song choice is the worst thing they could ever done they ruined the mood 🤦♂️
How good is Soraki ?.. he won againts crown, humuzza & davinci; 3 of the best dancers in the competition. In the final he actually beat an African in Africa based on crowd voting !!! Thats how good is Soraki.
this should have been the finals. i've been looking for this battle because i was wondering how the hell you even recover from the crown's "say my name" - and he was genuinely great for both songs - and the D soraki was genuinely up to it.
I think the moment that really exemplifies Soraki's extraordinary musicality is when he's dancing to the silent beat towards the end of the second round here. A lot of dancers would choose to stop during the silence, but he keeps going.
I'm 90% sure he just forgot about the silence in that part and started dancing the chorus early, with the way he then stops the movement 2 secs later mid-move.
My thought in this battle is The Crown perform really good street dancing and definitely interact with audience so well, D soraki dancing is like music video choreography, perfect beat and looks awesome.
Let's not forget Soraki battled all day and kept up the high energy in every battle ...like that right there is supernatural-superhuman this man is a G.O.A.T. Soraki is a whole movie..you see intensity, explosion. thrills and comedy. If I have to say this is that Crown was amazing but I felt like I was at a strip club complete no offence or disrespect this is just how I feel. Thought with Soraki for me he was DANCING and he brought impeccable foot and body control he was bending air. I noticed every beat was precise to the beat with no sloppiness just sharp lines with a hint of softness.
I find your comment regarding The Crown offensive and disrespectful. It does not add value. Why didn't you just speak on The D Soraki and leave it at that? You will never regret an unkind word unsaid. And you were most unkind to The Crown.
It was ok....without the athletic moves he literally has no dance moves ....more like a pop locker who can move about the stage well.... Soraki is a GOD GIVEN PURE HEAVENLY TALENTED DANCER WHO CAN BRING ANY SONG TO LIFE WITH HIS DANCING:) THATS THE DIFFERENCE
@@hotmail305 totally disagree. Have you watched the Crown’s battles for Red Bull Dance Your Style in Chicago and especially the US Finals? He’s an overall amazing dancer and really gets the crowd going. He’s trained in 4-5 styles of dance. I do agree D Soraki deserved to win the final but this battle was close.
#Soraki is a professional Dancer. Well trained, he has a unique style in dance steps, and very creative in steps.and when he dance it has a story. that's what I saw him, and timing in music.. And he's a cheerful person, he's always smiling face on the stage I love the reaction of his face when he dance. Ohh I love it. Davinci is too much expectation of himself, lot of words ,its a competitation , dont expect too much, instead focus of what you doing on stage, what I have noticed to Davinci he's out of control on the stage and not timing in music, especially in final . You know , Im also a dancer for how many years. What i have noticed on him , from the first up to the end i cant imagine what is he doing that night ! he's out of control and NOT timing in music on the stage, he's not capable for that crown, you know ! when you are a contistant of any particular compitation , you have to do the best ,'coz its compitation and dont expect too much, because too much expectation Fail . #100% The D Soraki is for that winning crown .cheeerrsss
The Crown's dance is simply amazing. He easily involved crowds into his world. But I don't think he had to make crowds wave their hands. That may derive from his style against dance battle. But it might be a way too much this time. It's sure people are so hyped with his action, but Soraki obviously enchanted audiences without such kind of actions and would still be dancing like that even if there will be nobody watching his dance. Kings need people to be a king, but soraki just needs some music to be himself.
How about Crown is his own person and Soraki is his own person, and they each do what they do. Let's also look at culture, personality, charisma, and familiarity as elements of the dance.
Soraki is the dancer's dancer. That guy may not be most technical out here. But damn how out of this world his understanding of the musicality, rythm, space, feel, flow he has... He is always taking the music where you would not expect.
Hyper technical dancers are often stuck in their own construct, Soraki dances to feel the music and the technicality is complimentary which is very freeing.
He is the purest freestyle dancer I have ever seen in the 40 years of watching dancing in Vegas and new york....SORAKI IS DANCE....everyone else literally everyone else is trying to get to his type of understanding of dancing to music
That round one - speechless!!! Completely different styles yet dead even in R1. Both these guys showed the utter joy of dancing, comedic timing, showmanship. D Soraki - he's hip hop, he's a dancer in a wind tunnel, he's a mime -- he's an artist. Love that they ended to the lyrics, "everybody just have a good time..." That's what it's about.
Just when he thought he got Soraki with his sick moves..... Then Soraki came back with 100x better groove. High respect for the crown still, well fought battle!
thank you thank you thank you guys so muchhhhhhhh I've been founding this for a long time. thank you guys for posting this battle. now I know why D soraki win.
I haven’t followed dance comps in awhile and I thought THIS was the finals but I was wrong. Crown did so well on the first song but Soraki rebuttal’d even better. Soraki is just straight up vibes!
D Soraki had to BRING IT ON in the first round, because The Crown KILLED IT!!!!!! When someone dances that WELL, then the opponent raises the BAR.....that's when you get MAGIC!!!! That's why this video has done 1.9 million views in 8 months. This one will be FOREVER great in the archives!!
Soraki was awesome. Almost everyone enjoyed him except they girl with the bucket had and the girl with the backwards cap 😂 they were not happy. Especially with the “im coming out” round 😂
The 2 top dancers of this competition. I had seen a lot of Soraki, but watched a bunch of the best of videos, and the Crown was the only one who really stood out. Very very fluid and smooth. They both really compliment each other. Id love to see more of just them.
