On "tell the truth!" -- I think the show covered this tumultuous period of their marriage as tastefully as possible, given the ambiguity/non-confirmation of the rumors of Philip's *alleged* infidelity. Given Liz/Phillip's advanced age/health complications when this season was in production and the fact infidelity hasn't ever been confirmed (contrary to Charles' affair with Camilla, which was very MUCH confirmed), I think the writers made a very deliberate choice to *not* have Phillip confess to cheating on Liz in that final confrontation scene. But I agree that at the end of the season, we see a Phillip who has recommitted himself to being Elizabeth's right hand man, and he seems to have filled that role consistently in real life through to the end.

You nailed it when you said maybe it was rumour, or the papers, or whatever, we'll never know. We never will know what went on behind those closed doors. The Profumo Affair *did* bring down the government, due to the positions of all those proved to be involved, and that in the earlier years of their marriage, there were many *rumours* about Prince Philip, but none were ever proven. Really, all we can know (and all it is our business to know) is that they remained married, and his death - aged 99 - was honestly mourned by most of the Commonwealth.

Regarding the last scene, Phillip in real life HATED to sit for photos. See below the RU-vid where, like in the last scene of the series, there were many people including Prince Charles and an adult Prince William. Phillip lost his cool and used the F word to the photographer. So I believe the last scene was realistic depiction of how Phillip was with sitting for a long time for photos. I don't believe for one second that Phillip did all the stuff that The Crown alleges. I believe that Phillip has always been faithful. Don't forget, the writers of this show want RATINGS! So they'll bash the Royal Family as much as possible to get those ratings

This scene was EVERYTHING. Brilliant ending to the first two seasons. I almost wanted to stop watching after this. Nothing can top this. I laughed and cried at the same time.

Philip was Elizabeth's rock, but more so after this period of strife. Faithfulness isn't always about not making mistakes, but about sticking it out. So please stop bashing him!! He was with her till his dying day!

That's a quite interesting way to look at faithfulness. I sure agree that mistakes will always be made, I'm just not sure I'd consider cheating one of those. Suddenly raising your voice and cussing in a moment of anger is a mistake, but having an affair is a _conscious choice._ I mean, a sexual intercourse is too long to be unconscious of, lmao. But I agree with the sticking with each other part. And The Crown is fiction, Philip was fully faithful to the Queen in real life.

The character Prince Philip was annoying beyond belief, even though he had his good sides too. But It's drama. I like to think the script writer made him dirty, for the drama of it. After all Elizabeth loved him, and it can't have been only for his looks and sass.

Hardly! Ward was a human trafficker. Not only was he married, and cheated and lied about the cheating, it’s like he had some weird operation set up (Epstein style but smaller)..Prince Phillip WAS involved (fact check) with two of the women- I have no idea how much but I don’t think they were having just a conversation.
