I had the older MTD snowblower attachment on my lgt1050 and it was a chore to install and also to remove. There was no spring assist so you were dealing with the full weight of the bucket. I was amazed at the newer style, as shown here. It is amazingly easy to install and remove and the spring assist makes lifting the bucket very easy. Looking forward to a winter with more snow than we had last season so I can work out with my new SLX 50.

After 4 years of owning a 3 stage snowblower I don't find it works any better than a 2 stage. Just my opinion. Thanks

The Cub Cadet Dealer in my area that I deal with a lot for Stihl items as well, told me to avoid the 3 Stage Snowblowers. I bought the 13hp 2 stage and I’m very happy with it. Now that being said, I’m not sure about the Lawn Tractor Model. Be careful, I trust my guy cause he knows I’d climb all over the vet him if it didn’t work correctly!

I own a 2018 Cub Cadet XT1 with a 3 stage, 42 inch snow blower. Worst snow blower I have ever owned. The two yellow blades are called accelerator and even in light snow, the back accelerator blade will snap the shear pin even if I drive very slowly. The manual gives one part number in the front of the manual (page 6) for the left and right spiral blades as 689-00356 and on page 22/23, the parts list shows all shear pins as 738-04124A. Cub Cadet informed me that the spiral blades should use p/n 738-05273 and the accelerator blades should use p/n 738-06654. Do not recommend anyone buy a 3 stage snow thrower.

Page 18 says to use 738-04124A otherwise your warranty is void. My unit broke the main shaft (717-05236) blowing 4" of fresh snow with factory pins. They're making me drive over an hour away and wait two weeks for warranty repair to fix it. Meanwhile I can't clear my driveway, can't recommend. It's a shame because it works well when it's working.

Thank you for sharing the vid. Would you know if it will operate with a John Deere?

John Deere likes to use their own proprietary junk so no it won't work with a John Deere.

Its a great idea, but the push tube technology is way outdated for what could be a simple quick installation and removal. Those push tubes are a horrible design, and you end up struggling to install and remove the blower unit. Looks like they no longer offer the blower which given its installation design I'm glad its gone. I now have a tractor that I can put a blower or a rear blade on so the snow blower for my XT1 might just get sold, its not worth the hassle.
