Get over it with your tired cliches. They have often do small gigs for their true fans. Seen then at the 100 Club, a truly excellent gig better than any of the dozens of times I have seen them at larger venues.
Um show do The cult é um show do The cult!!! Só quem foi em pelo menos "um" show do The cult, sabe da atitude profissional e a arte poética de fazer música esses kras tem! Viva o rock N roll! Viva The cult e viva a boa música! Hello Nadira, my friend? Yes? No? 😎🤘 Di3go Kost3l@... 🤘😎🖤🎵🎸🎹
From the mid '90s to the begining of 2000s (where i have seen them in the like intimate show at Musique Plus Montreal with Matt Sorum) , they seem to have lost it. Ian had health problems due to years of abuse. But seing this video, they without doubt got it back.
I don't know why my expectations were low. I guess I expect the sound to be bad since it looked like a fan shot vid. But that was pretty good. I love the song. A college roommate gave me this album for Christmas the year it came out. Turned me on to The Cult for sure. Sweet Soul Sister, Fire Woman, and Edie (Ciao Baby) are all bangers too.
I never cared much for the Cult all through the different stages of the Ian + Billy creative thing ( from Southern Death Cult through the Death Cult and finally the godawful The Cult 90s rock band) But now I really like how they sound and move now - really kickass - pure gritty energy. The recent live versions of She sells sanctuary and Rain are epic.
Damn, that's a small stage... I hate playing on one but I'm glad that doesn't happen too often.... Would've been happy to play on that stage with these guys tho...
Wow it works well at low volume and well mixed, have they ever done an unplugged? Ian sounds very good at this level and he is really doing masterful vocal control to get the same dynamics. Been a fan since Love.
