I've been trying to figure this out for a while. This video is really close and sounds great (and better than BD played it live from what I can find on the net), but doesn't quite match the original recording to my ear. In the opening guitar riff I hear a 4 string B chord and I'm pretty sure it alternates between the 4 sting B and a 3-string A which is pretty tough to play cleanly. I think it's an ES 335 by the way. (The second guitar - Les Paul - plays the 3 string B dropping the low B to an A as shown in the video.)
Always said this was,a 2 geetar song... we always used 2. Timing is,every thing on this song...gotta b tight. Ps i like the 2,different E positions...i actually do that on rock n roll singer by acdc...lol.. Nice job by you and yiur self...
You play it better than Duffy himself. Listening to the Cult live, it seems like Duffy forgot how to play the riff. It grooves better the way you do it (with the two short/staccato/tight quarter notes ending the phrase)
