Following their arrest in the season 1 finale, Cuphead and Mugman attempt to break out of jail. However, for each attempt they make, they are caught by the guard dogs. Thinking they'll never get out, Mugman decides to give up, but Cuphead refuses to surrender, saying he has a foolproof plan. As Mugman gets accustomed to jail life, Cuphead attempts to escape on his own, but he ends up in the electric chair room instead. Because of this failed attempt, Cuphead decides to give up as well, but Mugman, knowing it's not usual for his brother to surrender, says that he has an idea on how to get out. They attempt to leave by taking the next laundry boat, but are discovered by Ms. Cyclops, the most feared prisoner in the jailhouse, who proceeds to help them escape by attaching them to her shackle and hurling them home. The second they arrive, Elder Kettle tells the boys that a friend of theirs (Ms. Chalice) stopped by to return his glasses, and that they're grounded for breaking them, to which they gladly accept, knowing it's better than being stuck in jail.
