I had the opportunity to see them for the first in Bogotá, Colombia, on December 10th at the age of 52. Despite having followed their records since my teens, the live experience was nothing short of phenomenal. Every aspect, from the lights to the sound, and the music itself, was executed with perfection.
I love how genuine he seems to be walking the stage, seems very contemplative and just soaking the crowd in. And at the very end when he touches his heart. ♥️♥️
I was never really a big fan of The cure but I must say for a band that's been playing as long as they have, they still sound great especially Robert Smith who's pushing 65. Two thumbs up!! 👍👍
I had not listened to the Cure in 20 years, then I came upon this video. It stopped me cold. Alone, the opener, is such a perfect song, especially with Robert Smith looking out to the crowd. I am now a big fan! That’s the beauty of live music, captured and shared for all to see. Thank you!
I haven’t seen them in years, the last time was when they toured Bloodflowers. That show left such a lasting impression on me. I’ll never forget it. Were fortunate that these bands not only exist but exist in our time.
Robert smith is without a doubt one of the best front men ever , he never changes. So honest and charismatic. This is as good as the cure have ever performed and he is the glue that has held it together all this time . The ovation he got at the end is fully deserved. 10/10 👏
This is the best video out here. What a blessing to be able to sit in the best seats in the house and watch these talented men! I must have watched this at least 5 times🤗 I seen them live in Phoenix few weeks earlier. They sound A1 just like in the 80's. I had floor seats but not this close. Thank you for posting this GEM🤗👍♥️
Thank you so much for uploading this show!! For those of us who couldn’t be there, this was awesome to see! I had chills throughout and cried when it was over. Robert Smith’s voice was amazing as was the band. Thanks again!!! ❤
Suddenly I am transported back to the mid 1980s . . . the same feelings, tears run down my cheek. How is this happening? The brilliance and emotion of Robert is like no other. Thank you for posting.
So true,,it all started with boys don,t cry, then seventeen seconds and then still my fav album ,pornography, probably their darkest album but same as Joy Division,it goes straight to the heart,no bullshit just honesty, dark feelings or not,but we,re now in 2023 and i,m still so proud to be a Cure fan,The Cure still doing what they like,no matter what musicbusiness want,no they keep making music what they like and for their fans!Robert,Simon,Roger ,Perry,Jason,Reeves thank you so much for the fantastic moments&music and without knowing The Cure helped me through the darkest moments in my life, thank you xxx
Pretty impressive that his voice and the band can replicate those sounds from 35 years ago on stage in 2023, outside with tough acoustics. Show some respect to your elders :)
The BEST decade EVER- 80s were a magical time to grow up and these guys capture that time so perfectly. What great memories. Those of us that grew up in this era are so blessed- others truly missed out=)

Seriously Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this!!!! I wish I could hug you with joy. My sister went to this concert and wished I could of been there and with this video I felt like I was there. This video is just amazing!!! Great job. You the best!!
Wow, I would've LOVED to see them at Hollywood Bowl! I saw them in L.A. when I was in high school. That was in 1983! Can't believe they're still so amazing 40 years later.
thank you for uploading and it's like updating me one of the best danceable band during the 80's non stop new wave just the same voice as before a big shout-out from The Island Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
An amazing Treat! Thank You Morgan... It as 'if' I was there too... I am an old lady of almost 58, been watching Robert Smith since the 80's! Love me some Cure! Good Vibes from The Pacific NW.
I hear and see you Gloria! That’s exactly why I do this! You make sure everyone gets to see this great band with a front row experience! Someone did that for me at a concert that I was gutted I couldn’t go….just passing the kindness forward!
@Morgan King , is that young blonde hair lady next to you related to you? She is very pretty and seems to be having the time of her life. This is an amazing show you have experienced. For the most part, I'm a metal head, but I happen to like some of their stuff and the longer I listen to this, the better it sounds.
Thank you for sharing❤you were perfectly front and center!! I've been a fan since my high school days. The first time l saw them was for the Wish tour in 92' at the Rose Bowl. Back then we stood in line for tickets and we scored 5th row floor, but when the show started we rushed the stage and were 3rd row center! I was there with 7 other friends but l was immersed in the moment, feeling all by myself and took it all in (no cameras, no phones). Truly a magical night. Lullaby and my favorite, A Forest were my highlights. Saw them again 7 years ago there at the Hollywood Bowl. For this tour, saw them in Chula Vista and 3rd night at the Hollywood Bowl. It truly is a once in a lifetime experience to see one of best bands from our youth. I shared one of those nights with my 28 year old daughter again as we did 7 years ago.
OMG Love itttt! 🥰🥰🥰I grew up in the 80s with ThE CuRe's Boys Dont Cry, Love Cats, In Between Days, Friday I'm In Love, Fire in Cairo, Just Like Heaven etc. Sir Robert Smith's voice never changed, the way he moves didn't change -so Amazing!! Thank you for sharing this vid!! ♥♥♥
I saw them in 1984 when I was 16 years old. Loved them then and still a big fan. Back then my ticket was probably only about 12 bucks and I was standing right in front of the stage like you were here. Only a couple thousand fans there when I saw them. Cure fan forever, they are beautiful souls . Great video!
Hollywood Palladium, October 1984. $12. Is correct. 3rd person from the barrier, after the second song, watched part of the show , standing on the staircase to the balcony. Watched the rest of the show from the balcony, my friend and I leaned over and dismantled some of the red light bulbs that flanked the balcony rail. After the show, we waited on Sunset for my dad to pick us up. Some weird guys drove by, and shouted at us because they thought we were hookers ( Batcave attire) we threw the light bulbs at their car, they stop mid street, my friend and I ran up El Centro. I'm only sharing with this with you because some people in the comments are all like, "I saw them back in the day, on the Wish tour/ (or) Disenergration tour." I will give you a clove from whatever the time and distance. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Unreal. Feel like I'm there!!! Watching from Auckland, New Zealand and hoping like hell they tour here as well! 2016 was too long ago. Thank you for uploading this... glorious sound and photography 🎉
They were the soundtrack of my youth and I didnt even notice it at the time. Anytime I hear their songs Im transported back to the 80s and 90s. Time is cruel. But life is amazing.

I was lucky enough to see the cure supporting siouxsie and the banshees at Hammersmith Odeon 1978? Robert also played for the banshees that night i remember him saying this is our new single out soon called "jump on somebody else's train" lucky me ,he sounds amazing cracking footage 🇬🇧🍀🇮🇪
Watching this makes me realize the journey all of us went through when we were kids listening to this band. Seeing Robert Smith and The Cure reminds us of the time spent we had in this earth and to look ahead at what's left in our very limited time left on this earth.
Robert Smith is an example of how you don’t just get over something. He is still so shy and has been doing this for like 40 years? Amazing group, someone out there will always need a Cure song sometime
The Cure has been my absolute favorite band since the early 80s!!! I love Robert Smith's voice, the typical guitar sounds...everything!!! Thanks for the great video! I love it!!! 😍💜🖤❤🎸🎵🎙💞👍
Thank you so much for posting this video. I have a chronic illness, my friend invited me to the Seattle show tonight. I was not up for it. Instead of staying home sad to miss out. I'm getting to lay on the couch watching THIS show. Listen to Robert's dreamy voice, incredible musicians and feel a part of it. ❤😊 fanfuckingtastic Thank you
I don´t know you but THANK YOU Morgan King for having the patience to record the concert in a superb quality of video and sound without any flaws. I was at the PDX concert last week, and I´ve tried to record more than one song and at some point I say "screw this, i will watch the concert instead" Your video made me feel I was in the front row!
I just want to say, you made my year😊 That footage was unbelievable and as an Australian fan, i have been following the U S. Tour with envy, but you made it feel like i was right there. Thank you
Thank you so much for uploading this. The Cure are my favourite band in the world. one minute i'm 13 years old and buying pornography on vinyl and the next minute i'm 53! I've made so many friends from all over either from being at Cure gigs or through mutual friends online. Much love to all Cure fans everywhere!! 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Hey! 19 yr old fan here, what was it like to listen to the cure in ‘82, when pornography first came out?? I’d love to know! And love right back at you ❤xx
@@ChiB2004 I was 13 in 1983 and had just discovered The Cure. With my small allowance saved up for months I got my dad to drive me to a record shop and I had enough to get Faith and Pornography - my dad then also bought seventeen seconds for me. I was planning to use my parents record player, but when we got home it turned out they had bought a recordplayer with integrated cassette player/recorder to me and also headphones - for their own sake they said. I can't listen to those 3 albums today - way too many emotions connected to them. The times were different. Seen them live multiple times between 1985 and 2011. Can't any more.
And as an extra guest, you can see at 0:35 just in front of the stage next to the security guy, Richard Bellia, a famous french photographer who started his career in 1980 and who has taken many wonderful pictures of The Cure (and many, many other bands and artists) through the years. For the record, he still works on film and refuses to use a digital camera... Legend !
The only band to ever make me feel so happy and so sad at the same time. Their resolution always leaves you wanting more. Simple, yet complex. Quite literally the best vocals on the planet. I wish I could live inside their music.
It’s been 43 years since I discovered The Cure after hearing“Jumping someone else’s train” 😵💫 wtf? Nice to see Goth Elder Army cheering for this band. Thanks for uploading. Wish I was there that night at the Hollywood Bowl!
Same here! I first heard Jumping Someone Else's Train on a record I had in 1980: The Last Stiff Compilation. That turned me on to The Cure and I have been a fan ever since!
Simply put, one of the greatest, most impactful bands in the entire history of rock. Robert Smith is a messenger, perhaps without equal, in the genre. These present day live performances capture only partially the profound impact The Cure had on arguably the greatest musical decade, late 70's thru the 80's Britain.
Made it to Tears For Fears at the Hollywood Bowl a couple of weeks ago. It was as if their songs from the 80’s were new. The audience had such high energy as they would for the Cure as well. I don’t believe that, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Tears For Fears, The Pet Shop Boys or The Cure would have come to be as they are without the influence of one another. Maybe I’m wrong? Were the 80’s the greatest time for music? Did the. Beetles spearhead this movement and extraordinary talent the originated out of the U.K.? Let’s not forget The Clash! Or the Psychedelic Fur’s. Or Sting. God Bless the U.K. For the best music in the world! Including the Rolling Stones!!!
Absolutely incredible how good they sound! Of all the 80's Bands doing the 2020's resurgence thing., The Cure, by far, sounds the best! So Great! Thank you to the person that shot and uploaded this video!
