What a magnificent group The beauty of an entire generation Robert Smith's voice intact, his lyrics so beautiful I still get such a thrill from seeing and listening to them. ....Thank you The Cure 🌹
Excellent in all respects : a credit to the camera guy. If i cannot get to a concert in person , this is exactly how i like it to be filmed. Stable ; occasional zooming in to individual musicians , but keeping the same viewpoint for some 7 minutes as you would if you were there in reality. None of this flying about photography & short half second close ups from various angles : gives me a headache. Best watching on desktop unit , big screen , and loudspeakers with big bass drivers ; i know exactly what Keith Johnson means. I remember buying the 7inch single in 1981 . Thanks , Greg , for filming it like this.
I filmed the majority of that night. I was solo, had a damn good view. I also made sure the phone was never in anyone’s way. Now I can relive the tour at home. So glad I did it. Glad you enjoyed!!
My God Simon Gallup is digging the filthiest sound from his bass that I've ever heard That poor instrument must have been gutted at the end of this version of A Forest
They did 34 shows for this part of the tour. Highest grossing tour for their career. Robert called out Ticketmaster on their bs. He kept ticket prices super affordable. 25-135.
He always does The Forest in every single concert since at least 1991 when i started going to all of them. Its tradition. We caught this show in Denver June 6 2023 - encore ×2 which is half of his 2016 visit when he gave us 4 encores. But June 6 was rain delayed and everything ran later so he couldnt do 4 again. Im betting it was AMAZING in New York. We LOVE New York and cant wait to come visit again soon.
Hey. Alas I don’t. I didn’t want to be on the phone for the whole show. I have more of last night coming up tomorrow. Will be some from tonight as well
Sorry the Cure fans (and first one my big sister), unlike DM, "A Forest" and Pornography will remain in my soul for ever. Thank you The Cure, hopefully you entered Rockn'Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. Peace on you.
Saw them twice last winter and they were absolutely great. This band needs to be experienced live, so you are immersed in the atmosphere they create like noone else. It's great that these youTube clips exist, but it is no comparison to the live experience.
