I, on the contrary, had had this version for years until I discovered it wasn't the original one. The original song stroke me. It was more forthright, I was listening to it while reading a book, not paying much attention to the lyrics, but as the song went to "Your voice is DEAD. And old, and always empty..." I looked up. It was like a hit in my chest.
Catch me if I fall I’m losing hold I can’t just carry on this way And every time I turn away Lose another blind game The idea of perfection holds me… Suddenly I see you change Everything at once The same But the mountain never moves… Rape me like a child Christened in blood Painted like an unknown saint There’s nothing left but hope… Your voice is dead And old And always empty Trust in me through closing years Perfect moments wait… If only we could stay Please Say the right words Or cry like the stone white clown And stand Lost forever in a happy crowd… No one lifts their hands No one lifts their eyes Justified with empty words The party just gets better and better… I went away alone With nothing left But faith
This is an awsome version for Faith; lyrics just apply for my circumstance right now. ...I can't just carry on this way.... ....I went alone, with nothing left but faith.
this takes me back to when the streets where a war zone..i was dying..i couldnt cope with my drug abuse.i couldnt cope with death all around me..i was bleading to death on the ay to the hospital.^ this song remindes me of every thing.yet i went away alone with nothing left but faith.here i am

@MrDeviousPixie I read the auto bio-and robert said he looked up to Ian curtis..well said.c-moon,I could never imagine seeing joy div, or the cure play to a small club, but I seen the cure 2 times and its was powerful-and-stimulating...
...stll looking for that book: 'Faith:' by: Bowler, Dave; Dray, Bryan stellar version by the way; the Tienanmen Square version is'nt all that but still... Robert could give seminar speeches forever after...
the reverb makes it more intense. but i guess its more downbeat when its played much slower...in orange or leipzig 90 something like that...but strange lyrics in this one here...
