Love both of these songs. late 70s and 80s Cure was the part of the band that I related to the most versus anything beyond those years. Now about to turn 55, still love these songs and they are ageless.

Incredible dark poetry set to this music. There's a moment towards the end of the set where all band members are in-close bringing the song to conclusion and its nearly hallucinatory. Like being in a dream. Maybe its this very dark and gloomy, rainy winter day in Portland OR, but this music seems more intense than ever. Winter Solstice.
I got the only noise complaint I ever had in my life from playing Pornography in my first, little apartment circa 89.. It's an intense experience. I couldn't wait to remove my stereo from my mother's house. But snap, mothers are everywhere.

This was 1996, so Jason was brand new. So yes this is way slower and you see Roger is doing fill-in percussion. It wasn’t until the 2008 tour that Jason was able to keep better time performing The Hanging Garden.
3' 36'' til 4' 33'' = one thing that really annoys me is when road crew come on-stage and fuck about with things in the middle of a really good song. When they get close to the lead singer and sorta loiter, twiddling and finessing shit, well, that's unforgivable! It's a performance, in the words of The Clash's Mick Jones, "get off the fucking stage!"
