Holy Shit! This was my *13th* birthday. This is how to make me feel old. I'd already been a fan since Three Imaginary Boys, and was surrounded by genius bands. I loved Joy Division. Bauhaus, Echo & The Bunnymen, Teardrop Explodes, John Foxx, all had debut albums out in this year. *Bloody* good year for music. John Peel was *the man* back then. I would most likely have been in my bedroom listening to this on a little tranny, while I drew. (Should I make myself feel even older by trying to explain "tranny" to today's kids?)
