Just stumbled upon your channel and I wanted to say you're a great teacher, very clear and direct. You've gained a new sub from me, thank you for the lessons!
I saw this lesson and decided to learn it to impress my fiance, who oddly enough is also named Allison. Your teaching made it very accessible to someone who's not normally into this type of playing, thank you so much!
Ms. Bennett!Thank you for the awesome lessons you provide! I am a 56 year old beginning guitarist. I have wanted to play all my life and grew up idolizing guitarists like Davey Johnstone, Ace Frehley, Keith Richards and Jimmy Page. I wasn't able to buy my first guitar until 2003, a MIM Strat but I never got too far on my own, and "relegated my guitar to the closet" for the next 13-14 years. I stumbled onto your Brown Eyed Girl Lesson, pulled the Strat out of the closet and have been hooked and devoted ever since. I haven't mastered Love Song yet, but I will, I promise. I'm writing because I happened upon something the other day that was an eye opener for me. Practicing falling onto the Bm, I tried moving to other chords from the Bm and back, and when I made it to G while doing the universal strum, it occurred to me I was playing a very familiar and dear song: The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen. I maybe right, maybe wrong, but it sounds pretty close to me. Might you consider doing a lesson for the Killing Moon? And like Love Song, maybe incorporate the keyboard solos into the guitar lesson? Pppppppllllllleeeeaaaaasssseeee!!!When is your group making it to Seattle???
You're a really good instructor - I was trying to figure out that intro synth line - your incorporation of both the synth and lead lines is perfect!!! My band is me on guitar, a ukulele player/vocalist , and a bass player/vocalist. That FMaj7/C voicing will sound great! Cheers!
Awesome lesson Allison! The most thorough Cure lesson I have found thus far. This 80s genre is way under represented so thank you so much for this lesson. More Cure lessons like this would be very welcomed..
Ha! I was watching your fingerling and then BAM! I realized how totally BADASS that blouse/dress/overshirt thing was. Nice! Thanks for the clearest lesson on this song I've seen.
Awesome Allison. you've inspired me to pick the guitar back up with your lessons after never really applying myself in the past. appreciate your musical choices. having more fun this time around.
Allison, I love your laid back and accurate approach to teaching. You are also beautiful, but then I am sure many people have told you that before. Can I request "Hay Jealousy" by the Gin Blossoms?
