Very nice to react to The Cure. Thnx. One of my favorite bands in the 80's. Seen them some ten times, starting in obscure small venues over Europe (100 to 500 people). Later in a tent and then at festivals, Torhout Werchter (famous Belgian double festival), 1981 and 1990 and Pinkpop (famous Dutch festival), 1986. Boys don't cry and The Forest are my favorites.
My twin sister (she had everything The Cure ever released) and I discovered The Cure, among other alternative artists on CFNY. That was the greatest radio station that existed in the 80s. We saw them in concert in Toronto in the 90s. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Never heard of The Cure, but then the 80's flew over my head. Liked the song. When I heard the voice and it sounded familiar. Good solid sound throughout the song..Nice choice :)
I remember seeing this video as a teenager and my mom saying ''the reason why that guy looks so cranky is because he is trying to come to terms with being gay. He began to embrace his sexuality later on''. And in my young mind, I was thinking of the video for ''Lullaby'' and wondering what sort of sexuality involves being eaten by a spider.
Mike please play A FOREST which was their absolute defining tune also from this LP SEVENTEEN SECONDS from 1980, band members were SMITH, GALLUP, HARTLEY, TOLHURST.
Fascination Street is the one for me (that bass line is a killer). But the entire Disintegration album is a sonic masterpiece. This was a nice early Cure song.
My favourites are A Forest and Charlotte Sometimes, but the versions from Concert 1984-album (or some other live versions as well). They are just about a 100 times better than the original studio versions.
I never got to see them in their heyday but did get to see them in 2007. Not quite the same but still enjoyable. Thanks for the react Mike and Ginger. Really enjoying your channel.
Wow... I mentioned The Cure a few days ago... and BAM ! Here they are ! OMG... they look so young ! Unsual to see Robert Smith with this look ! But the song is great ! Could you please react to "Bloodflowers" ? One of my favourite Cure songs ! I wonder when I'm finally going to see your reactibn to my requests from Aurora and Mylene Farmer... best wishes : Gerry
Suggestion: drowning man or lament. Thank you for not doing just like heaven like everyone else. Also: a different band called Ultra Vivid Scene. Maybe staring at the sun or mercy seat
weird choice! oh the 80's and the slapped together videos by major artists (thinking rolling stones here too). I was a huge cure fan, really only getting into them in '89 when i was 16. I wonder what you would think of "the figurehead" live in berlin.
my first gf constantly played a mix of the cure and a a guy called Niels Jensen, Niels Jensen gives you a headache in 30 seconds flat and somehow my brain mixed those two together so as soon as I hear the cure I get nauseous even if I like a bunch of bands that have similiar sound.
Could you possibly do a reaction to one of Robert's favourite bands:Cocteau Twins, the early twins not the later more commercial stuff they did like Heaven or Las Vegas, but Wax and Wane or From the Flagstones or Carolyn's fingers.
Hi folks, how about a reaction video to If you tolerate this your children will be next by Manic street preachers? original album version only please! I have their autographs amazingly enough too! lol huge fan of and seen them at LEAST 17 time's.
Robert was a fine looking guy. Who knows why he chose to make himself up like a monster from a bad low budget sci-fi movie. You should listen to their version of Purple Haze. Best version ever!
