Seems like he's an elite -fit forward (which will get him into solid scoring positions) but who also is just technically 'OK' in front of goal - which leads to a high miss chances record.
@RegzalTG saying he drops to the midfield is a stretch. He mostly stays forward. He'll fall back to link up if the team is building up deep but he's usually if bot always the highest player

Why would you call him wasteful while presenting a stat which shows that his goals are above xG? As long as Morata has more goals than expected Goals (which he had for the last 4 years) calling him wasteful means also calling at least half of the forwards wasteful.
True, but if Morata is acting like a poacher and getting into the penalty box more, then he should be performing way better than what xG says. He should have a better conversation rate is what I'm saying.
I think the main point is being missed here. Morata's worth as a striker is seen in the goals he scores in the crucial matches against the highest level of opponent ( as witnessed by the number of winning medals he has collected for clubs and country) rather than over-all goals he scores. He would be the first name on my team sheet every game.
I agree but then again, who is? Other than Messi and Cristiano, you have to go back to Ronaldo, Romario, Drogba or Etto to find someone world class. Every single 9 today is mid tier.

Im new to football just started watching as a culer 2023-2024 season. But i do kinda wanna see ferran play cf with nico and lamine on the wings. Ik ferran does well with spain as a rw and plays better for spain than barca. 25 goals already for spain i do wanna see if he can perfect his shooting and run ins behind. Hes linked uo decently as a cf and has good work rate pulling players. I can see him doing well as a team player like morata did alot this euro
Morata at Juventus was the most dangerous Super Sub I’d ever witnessed. But when he starts, he’s usually underwhelming. I’ve always seen him as the player who you call to win a clutch game, but never as a starter.
If he goes to Milan I think he’ll do well. We have many players who can score goals. If he can help link up play and force space behind the defense along with putting away some chances then I think he’ll do good
As a spanish, this is a trend that has been happening for decades, since we are so midfielder driven, strikers don´t have that much protagonism and such legends like Raúl, Torres or now Morata, have been abused by the spanish fans.... it´s a pity for them but also easy to jump in when you see him missing goal after goal and people making jokes about it
and in Euro 2024, he has officially been carried by 2 youngsters on each side of the flank to win Euro 2024, I don’t got to mention their names, ifykyk.

Too much do list as one striker in front. But now days everyone always talk based on number. Make comparation between him and other. Me personality hates this modern style of football which no longer player as number 10 (playmaker).
he is good but not what was promised of him. I think in transfer fees he is in the top 5 of all time yet he has never had a 20 goals season in the league. Back in 2015 he did incredible showings in the cl against top tier oppositions (made Hummels look average who was one of the best around). Back then you could see things that you don't see in other strikers: He had speed, agility, heading, technique, could strike and shield the ball, run at defenders and an eye for dangerous positions. Yet his consistency and finishing wasn't quite there. The bet of many clubs was that if he gets his finishing right and shows his talent more consistent than he could be the best number 9 on the planet. Sadly this never happened
He’s an average striker, never rated him. If Spain had a Villa/Torres type striker now who’d suit their new direct style, they’d be scoring all the time, unlike morata.

morata is world class player ...... no doubt about that but the only problem for him is the mental state ... he is weak mentally thats why he has so many bad moments

@@rasungo he was given a role to drop deep to allow the wingers space in Spain, he doesn't have to do that in club level that's why he's considered a good goal scorer
Torres, Suarez, Lewandowski, Kane, Benzema that's a true world class strikers. For all of them you can name a few qualities. What to say about Morata? Is he fast NO. Is he good dribbler NO. Is he a goal scorer NO. Is hi a good header player NO. Is he creative NO. Somebody will say ''ooo he is a team player'', yeah sure, in starting 11 at least 70% of them are team players. So Morata is one of the biggest scams in football. He was just lucky to be in Real Madrid from the beginning. If he started from lets say AZ Alkmaar, he would never be able to play for best clubs in the world. Imagine having teammates like in Madrid or Chelsea or Atletico and your record scoring season of career is 15 league goals hahahaha. He is just so bad.
