I read this book in college and loved it. This play is on my top list of shows I want to see. I can relate to Christopher’s character since I have an autism spectrum disorder.

The after-calls maths question must be one heck of a monologue to learn! I am a theatre technician so I love the staging of the show, and the way the maths question is presented - and all that technology is definitely used the whole way through the show! (Apart from the headset radio mic and the very ending!)

So you have worked with others like me on the spectrum. That not something this semi young fox hears about very often. Warms my heart.

I saw it on the West End when it first ran -- remarkable theatre!

I first saw this show for my 14th birthday on tour and I’ve seen it three times in total (another tour and on the west end) and it is my all time favourite book! Loved the review and it reminded me of so many great moments and why I relate to the start so much! I will definitely have to try and see it on tour next year #MickeyJoGiveaway

I would like to say a few things here : First of all , I really like your videos. Also, English is not my first language so Im sorry if I make mistakes. Then, about the play: I am autistic and I have to say I just watched a few minutes of your video, I dont know if you will talk about it later, but I heard you say, you are a teacher and had may students who experience things similarly to what Christopher Boone does. Here is the problem in my opinion: The book though it never used the word autistic, was advertised as a book with an autistic main character. And I can see that: a lot of his actions are stereotypically autistic. But, the problem is that the author never did any research on autism. So a lot of neurotypical (non-autistic) people see their autistic relatives (often children) in the portrayal of Christopher Boone but rarely autistic people see themselves represented, because the reasons for their actions may be very very differently from what the book (and the play suggests). So to me (other autistics may have other opinions on it) this is one of the many portrayals that just sees the outward perspective of an autistic person and then fills the gaps with a lot of false assumptions and in that, gives autistic people no room to share their experiences. For me, there are some other problematic aspects, that somehow relate to this, for example focusing on the struggle of the parents rather than on how situations ( it has been a long time since I saw the show, but I think there was a meltdown in a supermarket) could have been prevented. All in all, its a very problematic show and I think even Mark Haddon has distanced himself from it (or at least he said, that completely making up a "disorder" (for the lack of a better word) and advertising it as autism/aspergers syndrome was not the best idea he had).

I really adored seeing it in 2017 - the effects absolutely wowed me (and still do) #MickeyJoGiveaway

#MickeyJoGiveaway I absolutely love The Curious Incident... - definitely one of my favourite plays. I may be the only one saying this but in my mind this is the perfect blend of "Everybody's Talking About Jamie" and "HP and the Cursed Child". I've seen it back at the Piccadilly Theatre when I was going through a low period of my life and this show really brought some joy to my life. I'm a huge dog person (golden retriever especially) so you can imagine there's a scene that really spoke to me
