Despite all the negative comments...People love this show. And even those who say they don't like it still watch. Did any of you try to attempt to watch "Love is Blind" on Netflix? I did. I couldn't get past the idiocy after episode five. I watched half the final episode. Despite its flaws, and the fact that they've only found some trinkets and coconut fiber after seven years, "The Curse of Oak Island" is better than most programs on television today. I can't help but think that if eventually they do find a treasure, that everybody is going to die. Isn't that just the coolest ending ever?

Do not forget about the human bones from 2 different people 162ft below the surface. One European descent and the other Middle Eastern descent. Middle Eastern bone fragment was found to be from between 1682 and 1736, and the European one was from 1678 to 1764.

@@bassingaround3233 -Well they dug up wood from like 1652,so I'd say the trail is rather cold. It is amazing with their ultra primitive equipment whoever designed it? Knights of Templar,Spanish,British,French Army...I'd just like to know for sure.

Maybe the swamp was a emergency dry dock for ship repairs. Float in a damaged ship, brace it, open the flood gates to drain the area and make repairs to a ship?

*One of past excavations, triggered the booby trap which flooded the shaft with sea water. And (unless I'm mistaken) they drilled down into the money pit, and the drill bit came up with gold and "PARCHMENT". I'm worried that if there was a sea chest down there it's been drilled into, the sea water got in it, and the note or map that was in the box has been ruined. Even if they get the treasure, it will be incomplete.*

The swamp looked like old gold mining tailings. Makes me wonder if the reason the tunnels were even dug wash because they were gold mining back in the day. I mean if you look at some of the old maps you will see they even named the shore around Oak Island, Lode. That to me is only used when there is a lode mining being done in the area.

actually to laugh, a gang of madmen who are digging in a dry dock for ship repair, is full of wood and nails, they find drainage channels and think the treasure is in the tunnel, 😂😂 I would say keep digging until the money is used up , you will still find a lot of wood and nails and sometimes a coin! 😂😂😂😂

It is interesting that the “Free Masons” choice and use of Coconut Fiber was by no means an accident, as the coir fiber is relatively waterproof, and is one of the few natural fibers resistant to damage by saltwater. By bonding Coconut Fiber with clay and ash (from the burning of their ships), they produced a strong sealant which would last a very long time. I would like to call for a more recent carbon dating to be done on the found Coconut Fibers

They'll keep digging as long as the history channel fits the bill. Sorry but nothing is there what you find was put there so that treasure hunters wont look where really is. The perfect plan to keep the real treasure hidden. Some things aren't ment to be found .

Read the history books. No treasure. Coconut fibers are used for salt collection. It is all documented very well.

For the Lagina brothers THE SHOW is the money pit treasure.Hey Laginas are very good salesmen , to get an corporate entity to foot the bill for 7 years and have found really nothing!!! Someone said this series is confusing exactly , in my my mind this takes myself to be the boss and make decisions from the office about certain peoples to be working on this projects manually ,noy just somw clowns lolly gagging around destroying beams from 1700's i would havw these sites completly dried and worked by hand with less funding like they did in prior attempts the workers in fields of mexico would better be suited than these fools destroying with expensive wastes of money machines

The episodes follow each other without any logic or any guidelines. We advance and we go back in time allowing us to discover nails, pieces of pottery, wood and insignificant stuff. I stopped watching these eternal rehearsals in early January 2020.

Don't really care about the treasure any more. Want to know how and why it's there. Finding it is one thing. Extracting it should be a challenge as it would then be an archeological dig, and a much slower process..

@Sullyz World Whatever is deep within the Money Pit was never meant to be recovered and was placed there in such a fashion that nobody could get to it. It is probably an ancient religious tomb brought by ship to Oak Island from the Middle East. Evidence has pointed to that.

This show is nothing more than a night time soap opera! They keep you on the edge of your seat, wanting more! No you won't because there is a gag order in place while the show is running and initially they only have to report any findings to the Nova Scotia government before any information will be released to the public.
