This quest turned Furina from an eccentric dork of an archon into one of the most tragic characters in Genshin, and the writers actually managed to make the twist believable. The writing in this quest is just incredible, and Furina deserves a big hug after all she went through. Can't wait to see your reaction to her story quest!

That whole quest made furina my favourite character, i think she’s one of the best written

Just to make clear, gnosis and elemental authority is a different thing.

30:31 I like that if she had given in and told the Traveler, it actually could have ruined Focalors' plan. Either the people outside could have overheard what she would have said, or Traveler could have tried to stop the trial to discuss things with Neuvillette, thus preventing fate from doing its thing and possibly endangering everyone else in the process. You really have to give Furina more props for not accepting the offer even if she wasn't interrupted by the unboxing

God I love this archon quest and can’t wait to see how Natlans will emotionally destroy us! It’s amazing how Hoyo thinks of things years in advance like Childes last form that he used to fight the Narwhal is called “Foul Legacy” and Skirks master is Surtalogi the Foul. So Childe is Surtalogi legacy and they already knew this even before Genshin was released. Focalor plan was so big brain, like she knew the prophecy would happen so she needed the Hyrdo dragon to get back their authority over the primordial sea but also needed him to want to save Fontainians. And it worked, Neuvi forgave the sin and I think turned all fontainians from Oceanieds into actual humans. Can’t wait for the last part! And your first Summer event!

it took us 3 months before we got into this part of the quest. and a lot of people are hating on Furina back then. but after this quest everyone now loves furina. Neuvilette is now the heighest Authority in fontaine. there's no more Hydro archon. we only have Hydro Dragon now.

Egeria chose a smart successor (Focalors). She managed to deceive everyone. EVERYONE.

I feel so sad to furina finding every solution on her own without any response from focalors plus unable to share her pain for 500 years she put everyone life above her suffering ,even at her trial she put her hand into primordial water knowing it will dissolve her she willingly to put it in and when she screaming everyone to believe her it not a desperate to save her but it was for ALL OF THEM in that moment she thought she failed and everyone will die bc of her all her efforts and pain is now wasted. I believe Neuvillette feel furina pain and probably her closest coworkers though out 500 years while everyone age and die Neuvillette along with melusine is still there with her but she can’t even tell him about it either..

This Archon quest is the reason why i whaled for Furina C6 ✓ GOAT Character ✓ GOAT Gameplay ✓ GOAT Story ✓ GOAT VA

Most of the people that complain about genshin are often the losers that constantly spend money on it instead of just enjoying it, then they farther ruin their experience by paying their way to c6 and r5 weapons, then they complain about its not challenging enough. Just wait wuthering waves, is gonna be in the same position as genshin is when a new game comes out that's more difficult and challenging and flashy then it.

i dont know if you ever before playing this part did stand in the fontaine of lucine at night...you could hear furinas crying so lonely how much longer when doing so....the waters picked up her pain and crys and brought them there

seeing furina's resolve and her dedication to saving her people is what made the archon quest for me to be honest. instantly shot her up to one of my all-time favorite characters ever. acting as someone she wasn't for 500 years straight without once stopping would take an unbelievable amount of willpower, and seeing that she wouldn't take the traveler up on their offer even if she had the chance really made it set in. furina is such a strong character, i'm glad i managed to notice something was off about her when i first saw her. can't imagine what it would've been like if i hated her the entire time up until 4.2

my conclusion: the best plot, the best character development, a gorgeous voice actress Furina and Focalors (the magnificent Amber Lee Connors), incomparable music and the most epic ending. When will I stop crying over the death of Focalors? probably never.💔

19:09 I’m commenting while watching so I don’t know if you will say this in the video, but I wanted to add a fan fact. Focalors said to Furina that her act would have ended in a dramatic trial. Thinking back to the first meeting the traveler had with Furina, it now makes sense why she tried so hard to have arrest us and put us on trial. She knew who the traveler was and how his influence changed the other nations he visited, so she probably hoped that by putting him on trial, that would be the “magnificent, dramatic trial” that’d put an end to her suffering.

What a rollercoaster of a quest right? The frustration with Furina at first, then the sadness of her suffering then Foçalor's destroying the hydro archon's throne, meaning that it will never ever again be a hydro archon, Neuvillette regaining his full power absolving the people of Fontaine **chef's kiss** Can't wait for the final part. It's so heartbreaking to see Furina give up after Neuvillette pronounced her guilty. It's like she just broke and shut down. Didn't even react to the death sentence. Or the Narwhal. Or Focalor's message. Or the gigantic flood. She just accepted her death and was able to move again only when the water receded. Man it was so sad

This part was an absolute rollercoaster of Emotions. I cried so hard during the Execution it’s unbelievable. This was the first time I was crying from a game. I loved Furina since 4.0 and I adore her even more after the 4.2 Finale

The detail i really love that most don’t notice is how Lyney changes the profecy…instead of saying the hydro archon he changes it to Furina, indicating she isn’t the real hydro archon

I still have to do the Quest on my own, but i Always tear Up in the ending😢 Not Just the Scene where Furina sits on the Couch, listening to the Woman, while crying, with this eye Twitch and Just Fake Smile, but also again Ray Chase Performance. I am so glad that i switched to english audio. Nothing against the japanese va's, but Ray Chase is another Level. How His Voice and breathing Sounds shaky and raspy as If Neuvillette really is Holding Back His tears when He Talks to Focarlors. I Just want to hug him. And also the Image when Neuvillette floats above Fontaine to forgive the sin. It rains heavly because of His sadness. Than we See him from Behind, floating there with His head down before the scenes Cut. Its amazing. He Just got His Powers Back, that should be a good Thing for a Sovereign, he is probably one of the strongest beings in Teyvat at the Moment, but He Just looks at that Moment so tired, sad, defeated and vulnerbal. I really interested how They want to top that in Natlan

Pretty big twist for the character. I felt so bad for Furina in that life recap bit. I remember changing my theories every patch. I don't remember the last theory i had, but i know my thinking Neuvilett being the archon broke when we learned he's the dragon.

Ah, that was so fun! Even if I'm watching the quest for the second time, I still get emotional from it! This is truly one of the best archon quests to date! Now we're all on the same boat of seeing what Natlan has in store! I'll be looking forward to going through that path at the same time!

So quite a while ago I suggested that you should checked Fountain of Lucine after Act 2 (the one with Vacher) and mute the music. I am not sure if you did that, but you could hear a faint cry from Furina at the fountain: "So interminable, so lonely, just how much longer" like in 27:14. Since Act 2 was from 4.0 and Act 5 was in 4.2, we figured all sort of theories on this. Most people (like me) thought that this was from either past Furina or maybe from the other half or similar ideas but no one thought it's from the current Furina herself

like u said "this game man" i felt it its the only game that made me cry after red dead 1 in 2010 and this archon quest did it tbh somtimes i cant belive its a free game and i want skirk to be playable

The power of Pneuma and Ousia that you mentioned you didn't know how to use is only available to hydro traveler and Fontaine chars. It's a little gimmick that pops up in the overworld to solve puzzles and gives you an edge in battle like stunning enemies. Just like how Fontaine chars are the only ones that can dolphin dive out of the water when you sprint from underwater. It's a tactic to sell Fontaine chars, but I won't be surprised if they do something that only Natlan chars can do in Natlan too; HOWEVER, you get Lynette for free and having hydro Traveler allows you to freely use the pneuma and ousia mechanics (Furina can use both).

A few fun facts I wanted to share because you're one of the few creators I've see who loves this game as much as I do. 11:12 Focalors promised furina that a big, dramatic trial will end her role. So, when the traveler who has been dealing with many other archons comes to Fontaine, she tries to trap us into laws and have a trial about us in hopes that her role would end. 25:27 If you divide the scene number 182376 by 365 you get 499.66 so approximately 500. Meaning, in the last 500 years it has been that many days that she's playing this role 53:24 This one is my theory but skirk mentions Vedrfolnir who has the title "The Visionary". When we talk with mona about the prophecy, she says that if a person who can tell such a prophecy that tells about the fate of the whole world, then that person isn't just an astrologist but a visionary. Hinting to him being the one who made the prophecy. 55:21 The original prophecy said that "Only the hydro archon will remain, weeping on her throne". But here Lyney says that only Furina will remain weeping on her throne, because even the hydro archon died and only furina was left during the cutscene. We also hear the prophecy from Lyney first, so he speaks about it again.

Ive been waiting for that moment!!!

Here we go, the climax to it all hehe. Hmmm, yeah the Gnosis and the Divine Authority are 2 different things, KB. Just to remind you, the one called the "Usurper" by the dragons, that person took all of the Dragons' authority and gave it to the Archons. The Gnosis are just items that connect the archons to the Heavenly principals. I personally think that Focalors is the smartest char in the game up to this point. Also with Mage N, it wouldn't surprise me if she figured out how Fontaine could be saved too. The music that plays when Focalors dies, I did almost cry. The song itself reminds of music that plays during a Waltz. In a Waltz, you move in a circle, like a carousal, round and round. It's like what happened with Furina, and endless waltz with no end in sight. So yeah, I think the music is perfect. You know it's sad comparing this to Historical events. That huge sword reminded of a French Guillotine. And in the past, that device was used to kill the rulers of France during the French Revolution. Yeah, after that amazing cutscene, you shift back and remember, "Oh yeah we got a whale to stop." It was a little jarring for me lol. The boss fight for me was easy, but I've fought it again to get something to level up Cloud Retainer's talents and it's actually a bit harder, but it probably because of the level I fight it at too. Still I don't find the boss fight as intimidating as Scaramouche's boss fight if I am being honest. Only because it doesn't have an attack that can auto kill you. HAHAHAHAHA, yeah, Skirk just yeating Childe like that had me laughing so hard. Man the guy's had it rough lol. He goes from being an intimidating boss to just being sucker punched by a whale and manhandled by his master haha. Oh yeah Skirk is awesome, people are already hoping she'll be playable in the future. I saw if she does become playable, it won't be til closer to the end since it's obvious her powers aren't connected to Teyvat in some form or fashion. What she says I definitely tried to remember because since she's 'outside' of the Fontaine quest, it's easy to see she's connected to the overall plot. I was still trying to figure out how in the heck Focalors and Neuvillette manage to say the Fontainians. That was one thing I could never figure out until I heard the actual explanation, so I can understand your confusion too. *Sees the ending* Maybe you're the devious one, KB, ending it right there lol. Still I hope you're ready for that last part hehehe. After that I'll give my overall opinion of this quest and how I rank it against the other Regional Archon Quests.

Also fun fact : Neuvillette (or more accurately the Hydro Dragon) is the original God of Life in Teyvat, because all life come from the primordial sea. "Before any outside life forms were ever created, all life on this planet traced its origins to the Primordial Sea. Indeed, those placid waters were worthy of the title of "birthing waters" or "amniotic fluid" given by those who came after. And the Hydro Dragon could, in turn, be regarded as this planet's original "God of Life."" Then after the war, Primordial One created their own God of LIfe to replace him. "Neuvillette knows all this, of course, just like he knows that all rivers meet again in the great ocean. These birthing waters might not be of any special importance to humans, but for Neuvillette, he can differentiate every drop, every minute memory. Gnosis is unrelated to archon throne its symbol of his rule .. throne is supposed to empower archon by elemental power from followers venti use it to empower four winds Ei used it to empower puppet Nahida and zhongli claimed them for self but yes fatui will definitely get 7x gnosis and use themf or something needed in their crusader against celestia sadly we can only guess ... most people believe they are needed to acess celestia ... or ressurect primordial one / dark sister

36:50 i don't think it's that easy coz as focalors said she need to destroy the hydro archon's throne by killing herself to give his authority back meaning it's not the gnosis but the god's divitinity. example, raiden did not have her gnosis the whole inazuma archon quest yet she still is a divine entity/archon, as well as hongli and venti even nahida they are still archons even without their gnosis.

I don't think you have realised that Gnosis does not equal Dragon's Authority. I mean think about it, Gnosis got stolen from Venti, Zhongli, Raiden, Nahida but they haven't died and they are still archon. But Focalors had to die to destroy the 'Divine Throne' of Hydro Archon to return the 'Stolen Hydro Dragon's Authority' back to Neuvillete and as you will realise after completing this quest completely that gnosis are totally different thing. Also Fun Fact- Now that the Divine Throne itself has been destroyed; There will be no more Hydro Archon. The 7 have became the 6 and the Hydro Archon power foundation has been returned to Neuvillete. So he is functionally both an Archon and Dragon.

My guess about the gnosis is that Fatui wants to change "fate" or the "rules" of this world established by Celestia. That could be ressurect an archon, remove Celestia authority or whatever. As far as we know each gnosis has the power to alter the fate of the world: Geo gnosis: create mora that is used by the the entirety of Teyvat as currency and method of enhancing strength Dendro gnosis: create the akasha system to find a way to remove forbidden knowledge embedded in sumeru Electro gnosis: together with the dendro gnosis, permanently alter the history and timeline of the world's memories Hydro gnosis: collect sufficient energy to destroy one of the throne of the 7 seats in celestia.

That "Hydro dragon, hydro dragon, don't cry" really hits huh 🥲💔 Btw if you have time, you might want to check your namecard for "Elemental Specialist: Series I". It's been there since the beginning, but seeing the design after Fontaine quest just hits different now 🙃 I don't think i'll get over the fact that Scara was thrown away by his creator because he was deemed weak for crying in his sleep, for having emotions, for his humanity. And Furina is deemed perfect by Focalors because of her humanity. Seriously, Scara and Furina deserve this new beginning to finally live their lives and choose their own path after 400/500yrs of suffering 😭 I do love seeing them mingling with other people and making new friends now too 🥺 (or at least being dragged in by extroverts 🤣)
