I was a senior in high school when this was released. I’m 49 now. My all time favorite movie! I just got through watching it. I know all the lines.

The kissing scene with the fire pixies in the background during New Years eve. That was the best.

It is, but if you are not listening closely you will miss something important: the sound of the fire pixies as they are passed around through the crowd shortly before that kiss sound like ice skate blades on ice.

I have 3 favorite love story movies and this is one of them. I just watched it for the millionth time 😆. I wish they made a 2nd one 😫

Fun fact - she did almost no skating because she broke her keg or foot just a couple of weeks into shooting, so ot was all her skafmte double. They, coincidentally, both got married to their partners in 2000 and have 2 kids. Two of most grounded actors of that generation. Adore her

So many great parts, scenes and lines that I can’t pick ONE favorite but top of the list are “toe pick”, the montage of them training/competing to be first, and Kate & Doug learning the Pamchenko (Doug: “and I catch her?” Coach: “ehhh sort of.” 😂) And of course the final skating scene. 😉
