**I Think It Was Recorded At The Town & Country Club, Kentish Town, London 01.07.86? Was Broadcast At 3am As Part Of The Whistle Test Rock Around The Clock Programme on 21st September 1986**
Spot on. I recorded as much of that Rock Around The Clock as possible (a 3 hour tape on “long play” which I have as mp4 now. As someone that only knew Grimly Fiendish this was an eye opener 😂 but a punk band at 10 years seemed crazy 😛 I just remember the splat of gob running down Romans left arm for ages
Yes this is Town & Country...I was at both Finsbury Park shows and the stage is different, well it had these big stands/poles that held up the structure and they were wrapped in foam so no one banged their head! I took photos at the Sunday July 27th show from the pit as I had gotten an all access pass after meeting Dave on Carnaby Street and he hooked me up with the manager!!! And some appeared in their book 'Light at the End of the Tunnel'.... I made a video showing all of the photos. Great times hanging out with the Damned!! Those were my fave days!! Love them in all of their eras, including today!!
Not the same without sensible and his comic digs at the audience between songs and his unique guitar work, big respect to Roman though,Rip Brynn Merrick.
I was at this gig. When they kicked off, a young woman passed out in front of me and was getting trampled, and I carried her out of the Marquee to the St. Johns Ambulance staff just outside. The Fall were supporting- brilliant day!
Bringing back so many good happy memories ❤️👍❤️ they toured australia twice in the 1980’s so I was able to meet the guys, get my albums autographed and some photos and rat hit on me haha! I am smiling thanks for uploading, awesome content as always ❤️🕊👍
I remember watching this on the Whistle Test Rock Around the Clock (that I have some film of including Billy Bragg and the Bunnymen with Billy Bragg doing VU's Run Run Run!) I was 14!! This is their Phantasmagoria year so I had become proper aware of them the previous year via Grimly Fiendish and of course Eloise. No Captain, but Roman was fucking ace too. That opener is just brilliant.
