When I bought the Black Album when if was first released , it got played till the needle of my record player wore out. In my mind one of the most creative albums ever made. I would have loved to have been there when they made this album to see the thinking behind those complex arrangements. The beginning to Mr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is just beautiful and Curtain Call is just breathtaking. They are still around today to play their amazing music because their fans never get tired of listening to it.
had the Black album too ....until it got lost in my numerous relocations . I just got to find it again somewhere . They are on a 2022 Us / Uk Tour . They are playing in Manchester on my birthday - 3D November 2022 . I can't wait to cross the channel from France to see them once again
Just turned 59, I think my hearing is beginning to go. It's not because I played guitar in bands, although my old bassist claims I'm responsible for his hearing loss 😆, no, it's the three times I saw the Damned '79,80,81. Each time my ears whistled for 24 hours after, but hey, I remember those gigs, brilliant then, and haven't lost it. 👍
Same happened to me all the times I saw them. Damned & the Ramones were ear splitting but Motorhead went to 11, those are the top 3 loudest mothers I've ever seen.
It's always great to imagine the Doors not on 'Ludes and Ray having three legs for bass pedals ! If this lyric doesn't lay the foundation for goth, I don't know what does! LOL
There will be a major blackout in the future after 2020. Wake up you fools of the future. The Damned were brilliant so buy the vinyl, cd, dvd and holographic albums. Hahaha.
