We've hit Western Australia's stunning coastlines! We bask in the sun at Broome and take the journey North to explore the turquoise waters and red cliffs of the Dampier Peninsula. Shout out to Brian Lee, a Bardi local, who toured us around Cape Leveque and explained some traditional culture. Beachfront camping, beach fires, sea turtles, getting bogged (again) - the adventures continue!

Taught at the school in Beagle Bay a couple years ago. Great little culture/community there, the beaches/mangroves are definitely worth a visit if you can get a local to show you around.

Great video as always guys. Out of curiosity what pressure did you have in your caravan tyres? Looked like the van was really ploughing through the sand. On our 3.5t van we go down to 12 ish psi and it just floats along nicely. Remember, there’s very little chance of peeling a tyre on your van as they’re not driving or steering.

Hi there love the videos, quick questions we're doing a trip up from Adelaide to the top and around the NT NP, Gibb, and the down the coast of WA would you recommend going up to the Dampier or miss parts on the coast? not sure if we have a lot of time. We have only 3 months. Next question the coconut wells lagoon is it ok to swim in? You guys look like it was ok? thanks again long the winded questions just trying to plan Horizontal falls and swimming with the whale sharks, so some things we need to book up? 😊

Hey Louise. Ready for the novel lol…. Definitely doable in 3 months. Broome and the Dampier Peninsula were two of our favorite locations in Australia! Definitely head up the Dampier. Some of the most amazing beaches I’ve ever seen, esp Cape Leveque (however it is currently closed to tourists). We went there on a tag along tour with local indigenous man, Brian Lee - highly recommend. In the Dampier, we stayed at Pender Bay Escape for 3 nights and Quandong Point (free camp) for 3 nights. I reckon you need a week up in the Dampier. Yep, we swum at the Coconut Wells Lagoon, as it wasn’t the right tide for the rock pools. It was stunning and heaps of people swimming there. We swam many spots even up further North, eg Pender Bay. If it’s crocs you’re worried about, the water is super clear. Just keep on alert, don’t go out too far. Other hot spots in WA were Bullara Station, Exmouth (we only did 3 nights there) Ningaloo Station (Winerabandi, North and South Lefroy beach camps), Monkey Mia and the whole Francois Perron NP (we spent 4 nights around there) and definitely Karijini NP (3 nights). OMG make sure you go to Karijini! Stay tuned for episodes on all these locations coming out shortly 😉 We really didn’t book anything, although we are on the end of the peak season. We got into the whale sharks only 3 days prior. However, I will say that Ningaloo Station and the beach camps around Cape Range NP (Winderabandi, Osprey, Lefroy Bay etc) were mainly booked out. They all need to be booked online and we couldn’t get into many of them, even weeks out. We were lucky to jag 3 nights at North Lefroy, then 3 nights at South Lefroy - South is the better beach, as the snorkeling is amazing! We only booked those about 2 weeks out, but in peak season, you’d be lucky. If you can, and you know your dates, make sure you book those spots early. Hope this helps and definitely let me know if you want any further info. We’ve been up the centre before aswell and it’s also amazing. Happy planning 😁
