There wasn’t a specific genre so some could have been doing acro so it’s fine Giselles first one wasn’t it it didn’t go well with the music and just looked off

i loved giselles performance but they were all definitely amazing

Thats what I was thinking too. Most of the girls mostly just tried to show off their techniquw and flexibility

No, some we’re definitely very repetitive. But I didn’t see a single “trick” and only three girls with a single tumble each. Hardly “relying on tricks.” And flexibility is a part of dance.

@@geekchick4859 i get what she means tho. some girls didn’t really pause and just focused on tricks. it’s important to actually dance and go through the motions and feel the music. yk?

Yes there are definitely some that stick to their best tricks rather than feel the music but I suppose at 12/13 in one of the biggest competitions they just get nervous and want to do well so stick to what they know they’re good at, as the dancers get older you see a lot less tricks and more artistry it’s lovely to watch the growth 🥰

at this age the judges want to see flexibility and tricks but as they get older they want more mature dancing

I agree I thought she was amazing but can I ask what did she redeem herself from ? Did she make a mistake in a previous round x

@@laurenhurley2909 this is 100 percent my opinion!! But what I meant by she redeemed herself is that in the first round she looked(seem) as if she was extremely nervous and when it was her turn she looked as if she didn’t know exactly what she wanted to do hence her running (walking) on stage and her repeating the same skills over and over. Yes of course I know that it is called improv for a reason and you are to think off the top of your head but to me she just seemed lost. But when the second round came she seemed more comfortable and she looked like she knew exactly what is was going for and what she wanted to achieve and in my opinion she delivered more in the second round than the first. Once again this is just my opinion!!!

To give themselves a break because they had done Radix Nationals in Las Vegas and decided to take a week off before going to The Dance Awards. This is also not full studio but more people that wanted to compete.
