Such a beautiful lady. I had the pleasure of meeting her a number of times. She was also my big crush when I was 16. The first time I saw The Dooleys, I had no problem talking to the others, but when I got over to Kathy, uh ! ummm !!! I couldn't put any words together. :-)
Still play the Doolies while driving. Don't Let me be the last to know, Wanted, And I wish, A rose has to die.. Fond memories of a bygone era, when songs had words you could understand.
Thanks for confirming that. I was beginning to doubt that I'd ever actually seen it when I couldn't find it on RU-vid. Filmed in a dance studio with a mirrored wall and a wooden floor if I remember right. Strange it's never showed up anywhere.
Early '82, though they had both appeared on the studio version of this song. Ann and her husband Bob Walsh - the Dooleys' former bassist - emigrated to South Africa, taking Helen with them. The three of them still perform on Cape Town's cabaret circuit as members of a band called 'Shiraz'.
Elder sister Anne had recently given birth to her first child with husband and groups bass player Bob Walsh. They left the group and relocated to South Africa. Youngest Dooley sister Helen went over with them. Guitarist brother John has also relocated to SA too. Soon after this programme, the group introduced a couple of new members, Gaz Morgan on Bass, John Taggart (already their on stage Musical Director) took on all keyboards, a role he previously shared with Helen. Anne's vocal role was taken on by recent Miss Ireland Vicki Roe.
