Loving this!! Haters of the video have no ability to see the point of the song, staring them straight in the face... Great song, and the guitar backing gives it so much energy! Let's go Warhols!
This band just keeps kicking out awesome tunes. They were great in the 1990s and the 2000s, and they still kick ass today. I never ever get tired of the Dandy Warhols.
I really enjoy it. This is a fun change from their recent stuff. I feel like the main reason I like the Dandies is their range, so it's nice to hear something getting into new territory. Their country tracks are probably my favorite but I am still down to hear a bit heavier stuff. Interesting collaboration too; I did not expect Slash at all.
I totally agree- for anyone familiar with their entire catalog, that DW range is pretty wide and wild. And on Slash, yeah like no one expected this! What I did HOPE for though was a bit more of his virtuoso signature riffs or solos.. unfortunately this feels more like he was a consultant making recommendations than walking in and ripping it in a Lenny Kravitz “Mama Said” grade collabo
Love, love, love, its stuck in my head, I can't stop singing it and it's fandabbydozie, another absolute belter guys, who gives a fart if the video is AI it's the music that I'm more interested in although the video was nice to watch while I listened intently. Brilliant work, guys, as always.
I guess I should read the comments below and but so I thought it had a great beat and was easy to dance to. Is each player the son of the man that plays the same position in Clutch?
People are thinking the Dandys are kinda winding down in their late career and Courtney and the band are like, what about this? What an amazing track-plus-video, just an insane, heavy, enchanting, wonderful, terrifying piece of artwork. Absolutely incredible.
A.I is here everywhere & this right now is only the absolute beginning. The raw rip of it crawling from the womb, just wait until A.I hits the terrible two's. I for one welcome our new A.I overlords, can't break a planet thats already broken so we Gucci.
Is anyone gonna comment on the actual tune this band have come up with here? Which, personally speaking, I think is awesome. And the video, whilst admittedly may be controversial in the name of art, is really quite something. I hate the whole idea of a.i. for most everything but let’s just enjoy the song 🤷🏻♂️
This is the comment! That tone is sooo damn good. Going to get long winded: it’s unsettling beautiful. I feel the dispair, and something animalistic in me wants to embrace it. Haven’t felt this way since watching the talk show scene in the Joker. I knew I was watching a deranged psychopath come undone and harming an innocent person and something very dark in me was relishing in it. Same visceral feeling
This is one of the few A.I. generated videos I've seen that accomplished some degree of narrative cohesion across scenes & told a story -- rather than just a series of short weird clips edited together. A perfect video for this moment.
I've never heard this band before today. This song is fantastic! And the video is brilliant too. It captures the creepy "wrongness" of AI in a way that so vividly compliments the song. I stumbled upon this trying to find my way OUT of the new Pearl Jam song (meh), and I'm excited to see what I've been missing. ✌
Very happy the Dandy's are touring Australia in April. Can't wait, this band have never lost their cool or their musical chops. Still putting out fine music when so many others have crashed and burned along the journey.
Man, this backlash to an AI video is getting brutal. I’d say to those people, have some perspective.. it’s new technology, not many bands have embraced it yet, and quite honestly the concept is one that personally I’ve thought about many times. Concert festivals happening while the earth is being devastated as if everything is fine.. I’m not joking, like I don’t think about oil spills, but I do think about the amount of electricity needed for the festivals and the resulting coal pollution for that electricity. Quite honestly I think the video is visionary and what, are people honestly saying “you should have used a real oil tanker with a real oil spill”?!?! I mean there are certain concepts that can only be done in AI & it’s far from just some lazy cheap option.
Just using the latest Tech isn't always a great idea. There is art and there is ugly & cheap. There are a huge number of creatives around with digital tools to compose stuff from scratch.
Yeah, having heard more than enough AI "music" already, this is doing no one any favors. What streaming has done to music royalties will seem like winning the lottery compared to what AI is about to do to artists everywhere - including the Dandy Warhols.
Musically, there is no signature elegance and mesmerizing rhythm of The Dandy music, not their musical territory - but probably this composition will appeal to more “heavy” new fans...
The New Carissa was a real ship that wrecked on the Oregon coast 25 years ago. The military set it on fire to try and burn up the oil, but just made things worse when the ship broke in two.
yeah for as much as ai is what it is... the visuals resonated all too much with me. being from just up the river and seeing the before and after effects of just a single tankers cargo upon the environment.... I guess nature has basically overcome the setbacks at least locally in general. so yeah cudos to the dandys for throwing an event straight out of my dreams. even if its only the electronic dream of an electronic dreamer @&^$
