I’ve listened to every episode multiple times and Daniel is the guest I want back on the most. Daniel with sleep and Eric cutting the interruptions for definitions would be the dream combo.

First person I have seen who is talking about the root of the problem, which is the psychological health norms. Take one step further and include the medical model with its symptom focus and you see where the happiness or utopian myth originates. Radical change needs to begin here.

Absolutely spot-on. I been saying for some time that each generation needs to experience tragedy or extreme challenges: WWI, Great Depression, WWII, famine, in order to learn and grow. An analogy might be - you do not learn how fast you can ride a bicycle unless you fall and skin your knees.

“Real knowledge doesn’t know what social norms are” Hmmm… I’m sorry, that statement needs more layers of dissection . Because there’s a thin line between what we see as knowledge , wisdom and what we see as information retain through education and the people who remain an academic professional and those who study intelligence . The case I’m making is , if that statement were true would the philosophies we follow know be accurate seeing as how they are from the philosophers who understood society in details that are regarded even till today? Would plato’s allegory of the cave not be a representation of what happens in our social world ? Would every quote of discipline we obtained from demosthenes be inaccurate? I think he’s referring to academics scholars who refrain from leaving their labs of study
