Cleetus has mentioned this in previous events too. Anyone who has been to any race or sporting event knows that there is always tons of trash left behind and it takes a huge staff to clean it all up after it’s over.
Cleetus, the chick who was doing trash for the bleachers was there every 10 mins pulling bag after bag of garbage. She needs a gold star. It was a blessing watching people throw all their garbage away. And not leaving it.
Agreed. Good to see it go to a regular working dude who'll likely take good care of it and appreciate it. Just because he wasn't freaking out running in circles and screaming and acting like a fool doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate it, it's not every day you get a facetime from Cleeter telling you that you won a truck... It's fair to think he was probably still in a bit of shock over it all.
@@fast97z24 That video call wasn't the moment he knew he won it lmao. Cleetus specified that he had to contact the law offices who called him about it and after the background check is when Cleetus called him for the camera. RU-vid/TV really trains you to not know how a real human talks huh?
Hold up… nobody is analyzing Derek from vice grip garage? Listen. He may not have had a “big crash” but that would still be damn intense for ANYONE, and to handle it like the only pro out there, come back out and finish. Dude is hands down one of the best amateur drivers out there. Derek is just something else
I have rolled a real racecar during a heat race got it fixed and went back out for the feature in a legend car no big deal but I wish he would have full reg. Race nights for local cars like probtrucks modifieds latemodel sportsmen super stocks sprint cars and pure stocks we wanna cone race there again I have only race their once in the old orielly super truck series when I was 10 back in 2003.
I think a special shout-out should go to Black & Green Truck 57 because that’s his daily driver that he drove to the track, raced, and intended on driving home that evening. Absolute legend!
@@Kullioking it's not there anymore but it wasn't cause he was talking about his driving and he had other comments on other vids saying how cleet was a good drifter or they are getting good with the bot talk
A lot like the "Factory Stock Enduro's" of the '90's. Generally they were 150 laps in two 75 laps segments, started on a watered down track, and turned right on one segment and left in the other. We had bigger V-8 motor's but tires were limited to 7" wide DOT tires with max 15"x7" wheels. Too much fun, especially with a torquey big block. One race I won at Saugus Speedway started with over 110 cars on a wet 1/3 mile asphalt flat track in a rain shower. Total mayhem, it still makes me smile!
Props to the Manatee County Search and Rescue team! Great job as always being on top of things! Also that burnout by the VR-4 after winning spectator drags was WILD! I thought he was gonna take out the Marauder!
As a Ranger owner for the last 27 years, I've got to say, that was just about the coolest thing I've ever seen. Rangers may not be flashy, but they are hard to kill.
@@mcf3778 I've had the rattle of death for 2.5 years now on my Sport Trac. Even so, the damn thing has never given me any problems, except broken door handles 😂
Thank yall for such a great event. The family and I enjoyed it so much. I have to say that I was really impressed by the crowd at this event. Everyone was well mannered and polite. I honestly don't think I heard any foul language from any of the spectators either night. So you can safety say the freedom factory is also a Family Forum. We will 100% be back. Thank you to all people working the event.
4 heat races, 10 trucks a piece. A 20 lap shootout. Top 3 move on to the final. You'd be left with 12 trucks in the final race, which could be a 30 or 50 lap shootout. That would be a perfect format for doing races like this in the future
No 22 should have been disqualified. It socks to see the win given to a guy who repeatedly pit maneuvered multiple people and caused accidents. Thats a load of crap to reward that king of driving.
I thought it was a great race but could add a few things. 1. No jumping the start. Many racing series don’t allow passing until you crossed the finish line on the green flag. I think that would make for a smooth start. 2. Whoever brings the caution (or red) flag goes to the back. Only fair that if they dumped someone, they pay for it. These rules could and should apply to all the racing events that go on there
Ooh, I really like rule 2. I hadn't thought of or come across that before. It's sounds like a very simple way for races without a room full of stewards to police dirty driving.
I agree but you then run into the issue of the faster guys now being behind X amount of cars and passing more than is necessary. There does need to be some kind of penalty though.
@@unsafevelocities5687 yeah I don't love the hardcore rulebooks, stewards constantly watching the feeds for any mistake and all that crap. You act like a dick, you're at the back. The race goes on without much interruption but you ain't winning unless you win it fair. Good rule for sure
@@helplmchoking I don't know if you watch F1, but man have there been some terrible rulings as of late. I haven't a clue how the drivers keep racing hard under such a system. First thing that came to mind when you said "hardcore rulebooks" haha! On the other hand, I don't particularly like heavy contact in motor racing, but I accept that there's going to be bumps and nudges here and there. What I really can't stand is people intentionally gaining an advantage from pushing others off the track. I know Levi's Rule 2 doesn't distinguish intentional hits from those unintentional, but that just makes it more consistent and virtually indisputable.
"Thanks you guys for not cheating..." So wrecking dude on purpose isn't cheating? Don't get a guy wrong here, rubbing is racing. However this looked deliberate and it went on the entire race. I am all too familiar with the ole chrome horn, but this looked like an episode of cops where they pit the perp.... Dude should have been at minimum black flagged.
It looked to me like 22 was attempting to overtake on the apron on the turn, couldn't hold the line in the turn, and hit Derek on his way to the outside. Not illegal (especially since Cleetus has no problem racing on the apron and was directly behind 22 at the time of the wreck) but definitely an uncool thing to do.
@@swholliday1 This. Exactly this. People in the comments are screeching about the 22 running the apron, yet no criticism for Cleetus. These fanboys are straight up trash. Racing deal in clapped out ford rangers. But yeah, totally intentional pit maneuver... 🙄🙄🙄
Gotta say I wouldn’t be shocked if people like Derek started pulling out of future races if something isn’t done about marshalling/driver control. He seemed pretty genuinely shaken up and for good reason, if a truck had plowed into his roof it could have been lights out. At some point it becomes not worth engaging just for the novelty and views when there are safer venues out there, especially for a guy that’s got mouths to feed.
I was thinking the same thing with the roof so exposed on its side. The comforting thing was that it look liked the racers listened in the drivers meeting and stopped as quickly and safely where they were at without going around for another lap once the REDFLAG came out.
It would also help to make sure fatbodies like the one that decided to hit Derek, knowing he didnt have the room at the bottom to make the turn safely, didnt race at all.
the race was awesome, and it is supposed to be a rough race, but number 22 was trying to make sure that we never have another similar event there ever again and I don't appreciate that
Its like a GTA online lobby, pretty much crash everybody first to win cause actual racing skill doesnt matter cause theyll just throw their race away just to fuck up yours cause they figure you cant fight them about it afterwards
I feel like the previous owner of this track, can't remember his name, would be smiling from head to toe because this beloved track is bringing 1000s of people enjoyment once again. fantastic work guys. this track purchase and all of the following ones to get it to this stage, well worth it!!
Used to work at the local circle track in high school as part of the track maintenance crew. Part of our job was also cleaning the grandstand after the night was over. It’s truly impressive how much your fans respect you after hearing you say there wasn’t much trash left. It used to take 4 of us nearly an hour to clean a grandstand a third of the size 😂😂
James is a legend. Reminded me of Dale at talladega… Dale looked around the car, saw the tires were still up, and said hell, unhook it, I can finish this thing!
Daytona 97... He got out of the ambulance and fired up the car and drove to the pits so they could tape the back of the car back together to finish the race.
That was an all time moment. Wasn't the whole rear deck lid held on by nothing but duct tape? That car was all jacked up. Haha crazy stuff. Miss those days.
VGG had video clips of 22 hitting him from the inside I don’t see how anyone with a functional brain could blame him (VGG) unless they just plane don’t like him... 22 was driving dirty the whole race..
As someone who's flipped a ranger at 60mph I can confirm all I had to do was put new tires on it and I drove it home. A ranger is probably one of the most loyal vehicles you can find
There is no other RU-vid influencer that can compare to garret aka cleetus mecfarland.. these races abs events he puts on are wild and no one can compare to his level.. respect ✊🏻
@@Wolfhound. wasn't that the winner of the danger ranger as well that flipped him? So many people bent the rules or found "loopholes" I really think Derek wouldve had a shot to win it!
22 should of been disqualified or set back 10 laps. hope he gets took out ASAP in le mullets. Your brother, shouldn't race circle track if he's gunna drop lines and slam people like he did.
#22 Definitely gave Derek a pit... In the future Rangers should be lowered and be allowed to set up their front suspension specifically for circle track racing. That would make them handle better and make the race safer. You also might consider running two, 20-truck 20-lap heat races, with the top 10 of each going to a 40 lap main.
@@KaotikRC I dont mind a little chrome horn or bumpin but this dude was just beating his way through people, maybe the freedom 500 will get him served some justice! LOL
The danger ranger seemed more exciting than all other races! Much cleaner racing! 👍 I think the fancy paint jobs made it look like a real Nascar event.
They brought their own vehicles that they bought and worked on, instead of being seated in a ready made car. And they are not RU-vidrs with suddenly too much money on their hands. They made it a really fun and yet absolutely clean race.
One of the best moments of the night was watching James flip his truck, get flipped back over and continue to race, seeing Derek go back in with a banged up smoking truck was second, third was seeing that AWD VR4 come in and dominate.
Awesome event Cleet! Next race please incorporate a few more rules like not using other cars as brakes when going into corners! It sucked to see so many people taken out by someone not knowing how to pass correctly! Appreciate all your doing for the racing scene! 👍
Wasn't the danger ranger open to anyone to enter? I mean if it's a publicly open event to enter yourself and your truck into you can't expect the racing to be done in professional way, I agree it sucks when people get taken out early by someone else's carelessness but when its open to the public like I believe this event was, you gotta adjust your expectations of the actual quality of racing. I think this was more about the fun than the technical racing aspects!!
I was so glad to see Derek was okay. Dont much care for a Ranger, but a guy sure wouldnt like seeing anything happen to him. Cleets a close second, but VGG is still my favorite channel

Those FBK guys should have been penalized a lap for straight up PIT maneuvering Derek, and JH should have been put to the back on the restart for putting James in the infield... I don't think he meant to do that, but he did and maybe it's just inexperience, but that's crap regardless. You guys seriously need to start policing and penalizing people who drive like A-holes.
no shit, they didn't tap the back of Dereks truck, they ran into the side and turned him over, Derek had a sick truck that he dug too. its a race not a demolition derby
After further review you might question the fact that there was a pit maneuver used by FBK boys that caused Derrick to flip his truck early in the race which should in all fairness penalize him at least one lap and disqualify his win. Watch fbk video of the race
Agree.. I'd make sure he doesn't get an entry form next time.. Ban him.. People get killed or mamed for life from crap like what he pulled.. Derek has a family.. This guy #22 from Texas doesn't care.. Then lied.. said he was pushed.. Right..
Epic Race......Glad Derick and James were Ok. Loved the drum shuffle audio you ever so slightly mixed into the footage when you were driving ..... tastefully done!
@@tiffanieeakman8211 fyi, the "look into it/do your own research" BS response is not really valid in todays climate. edit: you've got 9 upvotes but no one has an answer to where these rumors are coming from.
Just a safety tip for the future… If a vehicle is in a serious accident (and you all can decide what precisely dictates “serious”), you should have a mandatory pit and medical evaluation even if the vehicle is still able to run and driver wants to keep going.. A concussed person will not be thinking clearly at all, and you could be releasing someone to continue driving who thinks they are okay but actually isn’t.. and then you’ve got potential for an even greater accident. That’s why people who have just been in car accidents are always told to just sit down, because they’ll think they are fine and the next thing you know they stumble into traffic and die. Just lookin out for y’all. Keep up the incredible content!!
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ri2WdFVPauA.htmlm There is no deliberate movement towards/into Derek, just both following their lines. It was just contact.
@@doubleT84 I somewhat agree. I've watched several videos and replayed the PPV. The 22 was dive-bombing the corners fully on the apron. I don't think Derek was expecting anyone to be there. As it's not the racing surface or line. They need to paint a line around the track to show the designated racing surface. Hell even Cleet went down there and was pushing the 22 when he hit Derek.
I remember the VR4 from Gran Turismo 3 and 4.. That car was THE second car to get after the Miata if memory serves me right. I have seen as many videos as I could on the Tube and this one by FAR is the best. Dude. Thank you
Clearly looks like Derek held his line and contact was made when the 22 car slid up into him. Appeared to be the technique that was used to win. Its not a short track race I would be willing to participate in. Could have been a life changing incident that should not be allowed / encouraged.
He took every corner sharp and swung out, demo race style. You can see cleet steer wide halfway thru the previous corner to avoid getting taken out. Only got away with it because it's a novelty race. Would've been kicked from any "real" race for that bs
Not sure what the driver of the 22 has for a background in racing but it appeared like it was not his first time on a track and knew how to move people. Number #1. that move was way too early in the race and I hope he did not mean to wreck just move Derek.
Watch 77's maneuver at 12:29. Like wtf this moron could cause some damage, he carved across the racing line occupied by 2 trucks side by side. Originally thought this was 22, but was actually 77. My comment stil stands lol.
I think you need at least basic rules for these races..did the dude who won the race have to go to the back after he helped roll vise grip? Usually that would be how that would work... same with JH helping James roll. Basic rules short track rules should be a thing. That may make it a better race. And it won't feel so chaotic.
@@tombrenes2411 I don't think he hit VGG on purpose, however I think he should have been penalized for flagrantly jumping the restart late, IIRC it was the second to last restart.
The 40 car field was amazing. So much better than the 20 car fields you’ve had. Action everywhere and no quiet spots. Reminded me on UK Stock Car racing where the track is totally full! And the live stream was absolutely spot on!! Would be good to see some fast cars racer there. No idea what spec of cars use these ovals, but faster the better 😂😂
Jackstand Jimmie did the most "DO IT FOR DALE" thing I have seen in long time. Never forget being at Daytona and Dale flipping is car several times on the back stretch and when he was walking to ambulance stop and was like "will it start? And got back in the car and drove away. 😂
I've watch a lot of motorsport in my day I mean a lot, and seeing jackstand while still in the car, getting turned back on all 4, start the engine and get back in line is something, I have never, ever seen before.
Because there are no rules at these events on purpose. They don't do bullshit rules like that nascar shit. They just race and anything is game. That's why these events are so awesome.
@@Sabrinahuskydog if everyone raced like him there would be no cars left. You can watch his perspective on RU-vid (FBK racing) and he pitted vgg and then hit him again as he was rolling. He didn't seem to have any control of his car
Even if it was against the 'rules', it gets views and is not punished so gets incentivised further. the races will keep getting dirtier until someone gets hurt or a serious change is made to punish it.
There needs to be punishment of racers who consistently bump into their opponents on corner entry. Yes, rubbing is racing, but using other cars as berms is not allowed in any form of racing beyond destruction derby. Look no further than the winner for an example.
Rubbin means fender to fender, scraping paint. Rubbin ain't pitting your opponent in a corner because you can't get by. That #22 should have been DQed absolutely after causing Derrick to flip
And that’s why I’m not paying money to watch any of these events until he comes out and says if it looks intentional your out. Until then it’ll always be a glorified demo derby and I’m sure as hell not paying to watch 5 min of people crashing cars.
“Thanks for not cheating” to the guy who almost killed two people in a RU-vid race. That loser should have been black flagged and If nobody puts him in the wall at lemullets I’d be pretty surprised. Awesome race, great PPV, totally undeserved victory for those New Pork boys.
Could you imagine being that guy and watching this video. It would still feel so unreal. Congrats dude and congrats to cleeter and the crew. Y’all do so much and it honestly blows me away. Thank you.
@@doubleT84 I don't even watch the RU-vidr he hit. I had to look up who he was. Also the hit shown in this video is one of many from the live stream. I have raced a lot of dirt track in my old age though. Rubbing is racing but ramming and pitting is dangerous. It's a fine line sure but there's a reason people care.
The 22 truck claimed he was pushed in to Derek's 1776, this video clearly shows 22 put the pit maneuver on 1776 without help from behind. Should've been DQ'd.
Clearly shows he drove in shallow and pushed up the track to me. Racing incident. Also if he really did claim he got pushed into him, Cleet does hit him from behind AFTER the initial contact was made so that may have not helped, but once again it was a racing incident. Not saying Cleet didnt anything wrong but to sit here and bash the driver of the 22 for an obvious mistake (over drove the corner for his shallow entry) is ridiculous. Arm chair quarter backs out here.
Go watch his video he does it to survival other people he just happens to wreck Derek. But yes the claim that he was hit from behind making him hit Derek to begin with is crap. In his comments he claims Cletus pushed him into Derek
Through the entire race you see Cleetus trying to get his truck to turn left, putting in a lot of left turn on the steering wheel, but the truck still sliding to the right. Look at the 22 vs 77 incident again, you'll see 22's front wheel pointing left while he slides to the right and into 77, same shit Cleeters truck does the entire race, it seems those ford rangers don't really like turning. Right after 22 hits 77 you see Cleetus bump into 22's tail, so with adrenaline rushing it's easy for 22 to mess up the timeline a bit and fell that he was bumped into the 77 car. All I see is a race incident of 22 understeering and sliding into 77, no foul.
@@dannypaulross9654 except I have watched HIS video and he hit 2 trucks the entire race. VGG where he over drove the corner and Kevin at the end where Kevin came down on him while he held his line.
