The DANGERS of Flying Sky Lanterns 

Well you are right but because of the very reasons they are illegal in many countries for example in Germany where such a lantern actually caused a fire in a zoo last year where a chimpanzee died in it. Sadly the firework ban campaign gets more attraction for the wrong reasons. Look at my channel, you will see the evidence that I am a firework lover but Im definitely not a friend of those lanterns... The tradition on the other side need to be saved!

Wait until after it rains and send the lanterns up while the ground is still wet. A fire will be very unlikely after it rains

@ There's no point saving a tradition that causes harm to others. If my house catches fire I'd literally shove the lantern up in the a**s of the lantern owner and light a fire to make him feel how it feels. Dumb people, don't have brain who play with fire like that.

I learned the uneducated folk come see these videos and cry wolf .... Whining about how this would damage the environment.... considereing all evidence was presented to prevent such .... How many people do we have in this world that actually know what is going on? Very few. Hence, our predicament.

Perhaps its bad but through out the world that trashed the ocean polluted the rivers and nearly killing alot of fish there for making people hungry, here in asia its a common thing and its probably our problem. If you lived somewhere in asia your maybe familiar to the word poverty, and this insane thing that people dont really have money to feed them self's or there families they probably die from hunger or some diseases. I just wanted to point out that sky lanterns are nothing compared to pollution and world hunger.

@@TheYoungJuanderer When somebody points out what is wrong with your argument and you refuse to listen, what you're sharing is dogmatism, not awareness. As somebody else pointed out, and as one can see just by looking at the photos in the article that you linked to, the area where the fire took place was densely forested. To release a sky lantern there is not at all the same thing as releasing it in an open field.
