The music from the end credits of The Dark Knight (2008). Music by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard. **This music is not my property, no copyright infringement intended.
totally! no doubt about it. my second fave is the Avengers. (i think TDK is actually, like, ONE of the best movies in a decade, not just when it comes to superhero movies. but when thinking about only superhero movies, then the Avengers is definitely second, then) too bad The Dark Knight Rises was nowhere near as good as this one...but eh, how could they make a sequel better than the perfection that is, The Dark Knight? lol
My parents generation was Star Wars and the MCU is our generation cause Star Wars was talked about back then like if it was the MCU but Star Wars is still hella popular more popular than before
He is the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he is not our hero, he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a dark knight.
Mau Jo Like all Zimmer soundtracks, it's a collaboration. I bet he is also going to hire a dozen of ghost writers for this one too. Well, whatever, the music is good, so I have nothing to complain about.
@@basedrei3529 endgame is the type of film that gets worse the more thought u put in to it Endgame is just fan service the movie The only good part is the last 30 minutes Almost an endless amount of plotholes
The Dark Knight did not have happy ending technically, but it left a great impression on me to this day. And the soundtrack really does help the story.
Neither did Terminator 2. Yeah T-1000 died but T-800 sacrificed himself and that shit just hurts to see but humanity in that world was saved cuz I would like that movie to end the franchise.
I find it a tragic, but still inspirational ending. It's about doing what's right, even if the very same people you're trying to protect will hunt you for it. Even if nobody ever knows about the ultimate sacrifice you've made. It's the kind of stuff that sets people in the right direction for their lives. It's the level of art that resonates throughout generations. Nolan's a fucking genius.
I have never in my life seen a movie with an ending as heroic and proud as this one. Any superhero can save the day by sacrificing their lives or giving up what they love, but something about how Batman sacrificed his self worth, his dignity, his reputation, and everything he stood for just to do what was right has my heart in swells EVERY FREAKING time I watch this masterpiece.
What really hits home for me, during that ending is when Bruce/Batman is saying to Gordon: “I killed those people. That’s what I can be.” And Gordon’s response was “No, no you can’t! You’re not!” because he knows exactly what the Batman stands for.. As do we all. But then Bruce’s “self-sacrifice” to say “I’m whatever Gotham needs me to be.” really hits the the nail on the head as to what he is willing to do/be for the city.
I don't think we'll ever get a Batman movie like this one. The score, with Nolan directing, the fantastic acting from the cast, and the dark tones make it the best superhero movie ever, never mind best DC film.
The Batman is definitely on the same level. Its a completely different take and style so hard to compare but when talking about great movies The Dark Knight and The Batman are both masterpieces.
Bruce: People are dying Alfred , what would you have me do ? Alfred: Endure it Master Wayne , take it, They'll hate you for it, but that's the point of batman, he can be the outcast , because he can make the choice no one else can make, the right choice. Bruce: today I learned what Batman can't do, he can't endure this , today you get to say i told you so. Alfred : Today....I don't want to. Both Men walk towards an elevator platform as lights go off in the makeshift batcave Alfred : *under breath * But i did bloody tell you...I suppose they'll lock me up as well as your accomplice. Bruce : * Chuckles*.. Accomplice ?...I'm telling them the whole thing was your idea.
The ending of The Dark Knight I think literally brought me to tears lol. It gave me chills and I still hold it in high regards as far as movie endings go.
You people have got to be fucking kidding me? TDK having one of the best endings ever? Yeah, sure. How about instead of Batman taking the blame for Harvey's murders, have Batman just use his only true superpower being his impeccable deceptive skills and pin all of Harvey's murders on Joker or his henchmen instead of playing the part of the sacrificial lamb? Bruce/Batman is suppose to be the world's greatest deceptive, which he never is in any of these movies!
@@LordMalice6d9 the joker was already captured when Harvey was killed, so it would LITERALLY be impossible for him to kill Harvey, or to order henchmen to do it for him.

+Ezio Auditore I hate saying that The Avengers is childish, although I can understand that it is unrealistic, but anyway, who cares. It is quite a fun film and I really enjoyed it and when I saw it, it became one of my favourite movies ever.
10 years ago today. I remember how much fun I had watching this at the midnight show. I left the theater so overwhelmed with what I had just seen I did not even know what to believe. It is a cinema experience for a generation and one that I will never forget.
5:30 to 6:30 - I walked up the stairs together with a completely silent audience after having watched this movie. It was a pretty depressing ending, but hearing this part in the end credits gave us some hope again for our beloved protagonist.
***** yea, DKR in hindsight, was such a lazy movie. I think 8 years is a little too much. Everyone really sucked, as in they're just not interesting to watch.
Especially in 2023, arguably the best movie ever made in cinematic history!! Saw this when I was 9 years old. The scenes, the plots, and theme songs are everything u need in that movie.
Watched all the superhero movies with my little sister: Iron Man, Hulk, Spiderman, Thor, Captain America, Avengers, Superman returns, Man of Steel. Saved The Dark Knight trilogy for last. Blew her mind expecting something simular to the other ones. You can never again go to a hero movie and measure it up to The Dark Knight. Never.
Newest comment as of yet on this, I will die on a hill saying this is some of the best casting, plot moving forward during screen time, and best characters ive ever seen. And the music is entirely too good!!! Easy 1 of the best 5 movies I've ever seen in my life. HANDS DOWN. Fight me..
If you ever get the chance to see a Hans Zimmer show..GO!!! They do the Dark Knight theme and it is absolutly STUNNING! You get taken to a different world!
+PARAMOTH I disagree. Although it would have been interesting to see the Joker alongside Scarecrow and Bane in the third movie (in the third movie Scarecrow becomes the judge at the mock tribunal)
This movie already belongs to the list of the master pieces in film's history. I do not think that any other film of some hero deserves to be in that lists; though spider man II (2004) is not so far but still is out of the list; but i think that a movie like TDK is totally unique and I am sure that in the next 100 years we will not see a film about a hero with the quality of TDK....that's all; I know that BB and TDKR are good but any of them reach the level from TDK...and probably any other movie will reach that level in our entire history!
marioalll u know what. These entire movies is all great. U should not divide these 3 kinda stuffs each other. The Series of Nolan's Batman movies should be estimated to be one thing. Then It becomes the greatest masterpiece When they are combined into one.
Ésta película es patrimonio del cine, literal está entre las 10 mejores películas de todos tiempos, y no solo lo digo yo, en todos los debates siempre aparece, y además es la tercera película mejor valuada en IMDB de todos los tiempos
@4:35 music goes deep in the heart and touches the soul. Deep down there..lots of pain. Pain that unable to heel and has its own mark. Sorrow , grief and guilt. But Hans Zimmer has touched the chord of life by making music which makes a simple human being to get inspire in life, dare and rise again to fight back.
@@redcapCHB Wow! 👌 👏 I am so surprised to have received a reply from you on a comment you posted 11 years ago & so quick too 😂😂 I hope you're doing well & all the best in life man !! 😆
@@redcapCHB Nice :-) for background context how old are you now & which country do you live in? I'm 24 & from the UK, so was only 13 when you posted that comment all those years ago 😉
Batman was the best super heroes movies ever awesome characters awesome actors and awesome soundtrack no movie of this kind can surpass batman..I hope we could see more like this one...
Just so some of you people know, heath ledger did not commit suicide. He was taking pills after finishing the dark knight because he grew to close to his portrayal of the joker and was too into it. He took the pills o relieve stress. Unfortunately, he overdosed and passed away. He had a wife and daughter to take care of. He would never turn on his family. RIP Heath
@@biggeek2256I agree, Best Batman Movie right now, but let's hope if Robert Pattinson's The Batman Movie is going to be great. Nice Ruby Rose profile picture you got there. :)
@@krtlkid Honestly I liked Spiderman 2 but its got stiff competition from Superman 2 which was the best Superman actor and I think had a better story and ending. Maybe the first Xmen, Thor Ragnarok make the next tier right above Guardians and Ant Man.
This was my first Batman movie as a kid man I still love this movie 10/10 Heath ledger as the joker was one of the best performances in history best Batman movie ever made
to be onest , what makes this trilogy so epic is not the hero named Batman , but the antagonists were the ones who made this trilogy so god damn good. I saw a lot of movies (and good ones not the low budget ones) in my life and i can tell you i've never seen a performance from an actor as best as Heath Ledger playing The Joker. And i'm not saying that because he died or anything like this. And we have to give some credits to Hans Zimmer!
agreed, heath ledger was the best phsychopath I have ever seen, a even beter phsychopath than christian bale. and hans zimmer? the dark knight? modern warfare 2? inception? he's the god of movie/video game music
I usually see a lot of criticism for The Dark Knight Rises mainly just because it wasn’t as good as The Dark Knight. Which in my opinion that is true but that doesn’t mean it’s a horrible movie. According to Rotten Tomatoes it’s actually the second best of the trilogy. So hope you’ll enjoy The Dark Knight Rises as I did
I saw tdkr when I was only 6. I remember so many little things about it but when I watched it again this year, it was almost watching a new movie but a sequel but one I already saw.
The Dark Knight is at the level of Avengers Endgame. Really. So good. I wish it would have a re-release. I never understand how Christopher Nolan makes such great movies. Shoutout to such directors
