Joker is such a great character, but the DCEU keeps making... sub-par movies while Marvel does much better. And Joker deserves better so please, lock him up in the MCU.
Joker sarcastically asked Harvey whether he looks like a guy with a plan, but ffs he is a fucking genius and he is a guy with brilliant planning. He put the explosives in that guy's stomach, then got himself captured, made Batman break the glass window so he can get the shard, bait the cop into attacking him then taking him a hostage and detonating the explosive. And not just here, basically everywhere he has brilliant plans. In the bank robbing, he organized the thugs to kill each other and in the end only him and the other guy remains, whom "accidentaly" got killed by the bus. In the chase, he knew that Batman will appear and they'll call in helicopters, so he put the cable guys at the getaway route to disable the helicopter. He perfectly planned killing the black mob boss too, just like switching the addresses, letting Dent escape before the hospital demolition, counting on the people on 2 ships not blowing each other up so having a backup detonator. Fucking genius.
I wouldn't say he was 'counting' on one of the ships not blowing the other up, because he seemed genuinely disappointed when he realised he had to do it himself (since they kind of proved him wrong by not killing each other). But yeah, he was clearly smart enough to have a plan B. One place where his plans seem a bit dodgy to me, though, is that he made a whole string of assumptions- which fortunately for him turned out to be correct- when it came to the whole thing about blowing up Rachel and Dent, but which could have easily gone wrong for him. He assumed that Batman would go to rescue Rachel first, so he switched the addresses to trick him into rescuing Harvey instead. He assumed that the cops would get to the address too late to save Rachel. He assumed that Batman would get there in time to save Harvey. He assumed that Batman wouldn't end up getting crippled/killed in the explosion and that Harvey would also survive. To be completely honest, I think half the time he really _was_ just winging it.
Do you wanna know why I use the replay button? One viewing is too quick... You can't savour all the little.. Emotions. You see, in their last movie... Actors show who they really are. So, in a way, I knew this cast; better than you ever did. Would you like to know who won the oscar?
omg i JUST realized... the reason the joker kept baiting batman to beat him in the interigation wasn't to get him to kill him at that moment.. but instead to get the glass shard to be used in this scene 0.0 .....or maybe im just tired and overthinking :3
Disembowell that answer was a maybe..not a true authentic answer because she was thinking that since she's a woman its obvious that she's the one whose going to get rescued and harvey is basically pleading for her love and trying to comfort her by not referring to say goodbye or I love you. Batman in my opinion fucked up bad here because it shows who he really is, if he had saved Rachel then he would've betrayed Harvey and since he let Rachel die and chose Harvey he's still being seen as a good guy by the people but harvey now knows that he is the motherfucker thats been fcking everything up
Actually I think the bomb killed none of the people in Joker's room, but what happened was that when the explosion occured, which was close enough to mess things up but not to burn stuff in the room, it distracted all the cops and the Joker went all knifey-slicy and killed them all by hand
Knowing how even though he says he doesn't use plans, his plan probably was detailed to the exact area that the bomb would explode, plus he probably slit the guys throat
I was watching this movie the other day! Gosh it still amazes me that Heath Ledger played the Joker! It also makes me wonder what would've happened to Heath's career if he was still alive!!
I always felt bad for Rachel in this part because she hears Harvey being rescued. She basically dies thinking they choose not to come for her. It's noble that she still tries to comfort him knowing it's about to be her ass though.
Joker: You wanna know why I use a knife? Guns are too quick.... you can't savor all the little..emotions You see.. in their last moments.. people show you who they really are So in a way.. I knew your friends better then you ever did Would you like to know which of them were cowards (*baits cop*)
***** Well it's realistic The seen depicts how people would act if they were on their own I prefer dark and realistic things but i don't mind watching things that are funny as well This seen was funny in my eyes lmaoo
Christopher Saracho i can't comment on the post before bout fairy tail so im gonna comment here : fairy tail use to have lotsa feelz and really good plot but now its meh
AlternativeGamer99 i think jared leto did good being a comic and video game version of the joker and heath legure did a good job at being a realistic version.
Brandon McLemore you keep what you think, but reality is I barely remember any comic or video game version of Joker like his, nor him doing a good job at the role.
You know Heath ledger locked him self in a hotel room practicing his lines and actually going a little nuts from staring at the same 4 walls for 2 weeks. He was that devoted to the part.
These scenes are so thrilling & amazing, the portrayal of emotion & switch of momentum from good to bad, the start of two-face, the escape of the Joker, explosion of two buildings even the music fits in so well! representing utter Chaos
i think jokers ultimate power is his intelligence, he just knows how humans work maybe because he looking from the outside in cus clearly he isnt human, he knows just how to taunt the cop into starting a fight, he knew wayne would go to rachel instead of dent so he switched the address, he knew how to play maroni, he knew how to compose the bank job, he knew how to corrupt dent. heath u owned this role, everything, 1:55 the way he held his posture here and the way he has little spasms just makes this soo believeable and his tone when he speaks is just twisted, demented its truly enthralling it is truly sad he is gone
Out of all the times that I've seen the movie, I never realized that Joker switched the addresses until now. I just assumed Batman made the decision to get Harvey instead because he was more important to have alive but only just realized that he purposely switched the addresses so that Batman would accidentally save Harvey and create the seething hatred for everyone that made him turn bad.
the most accepted history of the joker was that he fall in a tank with quimics and that stun his muscles into a permanent smille and those colors, the scars and makeup is just the movie
The last scene with him enjoying the breeze out the window, shaking his head in it, savoring it. It's just icing on the fucking cake. And the way it goes into a complete silence too.. damn that's good.
I believe with him telling multiple stories about his scars it comes from one of the comics (I don't remember which one) where he says if he is going to have a past he would prefer if it was multiple choice. He just makes up stories as he goes. It fits the character better to have such a mysterious past. I hope it always stays that way.
The acting in this movie was really phenomenal. Even down to Rachel just plain panicking after she realizes that Batman went for Harvey even though she thought Bruce would save her the entire time. It really makes what she says to Harvey a lot more nuanced - in a sense she's still holding out for Bruce but Harvey is about to die, so she tells him what he wants to hear.
I just want my phone call. omg I love it! I die every time!! I love Heath Ledger and wish he was still here for TDKR! But it was still amazing! RIP Heath❤
The joker tells two different stories because he has two different scars on his face. One was from his father, the longer, more precise cut from the knife, and it looks to be more like an extended-smile, and the other, from when he cut his mouth for his wife,
Do you wanna know why I use a real life talk? Facebook is too quick, you can't savor all the little emotions. You see, in a real life talk, people show you who they really are...
0:53 This guy is an amazing voice actor. He's played as Harbinger from Mass Effect, Joshua Graham from Fallout New Vegas, Herschel Biggs from LA Noire, the Didact from Halo 4, and most recently Cornelius Slate from Bioshock Infinite. Definitely one of my favorite voice actors of all time.
If they were keeping true to the comics at all, it's more likely that even he has no idea if what he's saying is true or not. He doesn't know his past all that well. He has a great quote saying that if he can't remember his past, it "may as well be multiple choice"
Wat made this Joker the GOAT....was it was always a method to his madness. It wasn't just "oh I'm crazy" and do something crazy at that moment. His craziness seemed planned. He was always ahead of the police with everything he did
He did know what he was doing. He wanted to prove that anyone can go mad the instance a situation triggers it. Harvey Dent becoming "Two-Face" represents how one can go from one side to another.
Duh Dah duh ! Joker is running around. Around Gotham city like his playground ♫ Then suddenly someone got mad. Then Joker placed a blade on neck♫ then Joker asked for a call... then he called just once and blew it all.♫ and batman couldn't save harvey dent at all.♫ and then Joker rode out like a party ani-mal! ♫
The suspense in this scene is brilliance. The jaw-dropping fact that Joker switched the addresses to where Batman went for Harvey instead of Rachel, how that one "phone call" wiped out everyone in that station except for Joker and Lau, and the image of Harvey's face on fire. Hell of a first night, Commissioner lol
