The Dark Masters RANKED AND EXPLAINED! 

They did defeat the Sacred Beasts before they sealed them. Piemon beat and sealed away Qinglongmon all by himself as revealed in the novelization. As for the other 3 we don't know who faced who. As for Pinocchimon, Metalgarurumon defeated him so easily because of a power-up. It is specifically stated by the novel that Yamato's killing intent and hatred increased the power of Metalgarurumon's absolute zero blast. It wasn't a boost of power at all with Mugendramon. The novelization proves it. The only thing Homeostasis did was to allow the power of evolution that was depleted to come back to Agumon temporarily. AP and DC wise Mugendramon is the most powerful. Infinite amount of energy that he can destroy or alter the Digital World with and his fight with Breakdramon shook the Digital World to its core in Rearise.

Also worth mentioning that MetalSeadramon and Mugendramon were both oneshot by *weapons specifically made to counter them* while Puppetmon got oneshot by... MetalGarurumon when it comes to their durability.

I feel that Metalseadramon was done dirty in this video. It is true that he seemed to be just killed unimpressely by Wargreymon, but we are overlooking two huge pieces of information. The first one, Wargreymon was really motivated to finish him off, in a similar fasion with the digis that Mugendramon killed, MSeadramon dealt a letal blow to Whamon, giving a rageboost. Also, and MOST IMPORTANT, Wargreymon is blantantly equiped with the Dramon Killers, he had a huge and almost unfair advantage against MSeadramon that got killed with the move that uses the Dramon Killers the most.

It should be noted that Metalgarurumons attack that one shot puppetmon was absolute zero (and his strongest attack). His Garuru tomahawk was able to launch Piedmon so I imagine a direct hit from his breath would’ve done some damage

Mugendramon is definitely the most popular of the Dark Masters (at least in Japan ) He got an Amplified Figure for one thing.

In my opinion I still think piedmon is still the strongest and powerful darkmaster out of them all. Especially if Apocalymon created him that way. The digidestined said that they needed all the digidestined and their friends together to defeat him compared to the other dark masters and you saw how he took multiple attacks and got right back up within seconds without a scratch. He took WarGreymon terror force and Metalgarurumon giga missile at the same time screaming in pain but I bet if that gate of destiny wasn't there he would of gotten right back up and continue on fighting.I also remember that piedmon had a lot more attacks compared to machinedramon.Machinedramon mostly used his giga canon while Piedmon used: trump ⚔️,a fire ring,a big ball, keychains, dodge quite a few attacks, clown trick that tour WarGreymon to shreds, a wind attack, deflected Angelmon attack and sending it back at him and probably more. Again in my opinion I still think Piedmon is the strongest out of all the dark masters. Quoting a scene in Joe's battle episode at the beginning: (Tie must of defeated another bark master. There can't be too many of them left. We're almost home free. You think so huh well the toughest one is still out there.Piedmon worst of the worst. He's the darkest of the dark Masters)

It's been a minute since I watch Digimon but The Dark Masters were probably the first group in my childhood that actually made me love villains. I'm 28 now and I still just can't get enough of them. They're just so unique yet so mysterious in some ways I can't even explain. Also, love the fact that each of the members have their own distinct evil personalities. Metalseadramon is chaotic. He causes rampage and would just burn everything to the ground. The faster the kills, the better. Pinnochimon is a sadist. He likes to take his own time to play with his victims one by one. By actually torturing them physically and emotionally. Machinedramon is a literal unstoppable killing machine. He doesn't talk much but given the nature that he see all of this as a mission makes him the scariest of the group. Piedmon was a psychopathic clown who loves to create performance out of others misery. He make plans and strategies to be presentable to his enemies..which makes sense why he would lead the group. Ruthless. Corrupted. Arrogant. Evil.

I honestly find it hard to believe that Machinedramon could be the strongest of the dark masters, and I find it even more difficult to believe that the dramon destroyers wouldn't work on Machinedramon when he is set up to be among the dramon type and we see Wargreymon specifically use the dramon destroyers to defeat Machinedramon in the series. You may be right about the stats of the dark masters, and your assessment does seem sound, but I still think Piedmon has shown himself to be the strongest dark master and their overall leader. That's my two cents.

You know I kind of wonder how the Dark Masters came into existence, you could argue they were just made by Apocalamon but that's lazy. I like to think their existence mirrors the Holy Beasts.

actually, the dramon destroyers are effective on any dramon or Greymon (who are a dramon sub species) digimon, including mugendramon, it is oficial information, if you check oficial sources, you would know that, all the Dramon and Greymon species are descendentes of the pure dragon Dracomon

Each Dark Master had the power level a city individually yet all of them, Piedmon included, had a sudden drop in IQ whenever they could have won the battle: MetalSeadramon could have just burned 6 of the 8 alive while unconscious ... but he didn’t. Puppetmon could have killed TK and Matt while he had them alone ... but he didn’t. Machinedramon KNEW some of the kids were in his city but DIDN’T wreck the whole place as soon as he knew. And Piedmon? Well this King of the Dumbasses had ALL of the older kids and Digimon at his mercy turned into goddamned KEYCHAINS and hung on his belt ... but instead of killing them all he decided to play a creepy game of cat and mouse with Takeru and Hikari, giving Angemon the chance to Deus Ex Machinamon his ass My point is all of them were pretty strong, strong enough to end the heroes many times over ... but they all lost because they were smug pr*cks playing with their food ... I swear they must have gone to the same School for Anime Villainy as Myotismon who could have killed Gatomon easily as soon as he knew who she was then Hikari with everyone else 😒😒😒

I've been really enjoying your digimon video and this video i couldn't wait for because I've always liked the Dark Masters. The Dark Masters do something that a lot of people forget, they curb stomp the protagonist as a group and show why the plot has to have them be taken out individually. But please don't tell me you plan to make a video on the time and dimension paradox that is the Millenniummon story?

I think looking at they're supporting cast is also important, metalseadramon has an amphibian assault army that constantly hunts keeps the kids on the run on off focus. Puppetmon army hates him and abandoned post the first chance they get. His unpredictability seems to be a better boon at times than his use of followers Machinedramon is the best army most efficient most loyal most destructive and his tactics nearly beat the kids without him having to be around in person. Piedmon seems to only lead the dark masters as he isn't shown to have many allies during his one against the kids and could argue that he uses stealth and deception more effectively than an army could be.

I totally agree on this list! In the Japan Version of Original Adventures even during the introduction of Mugendramon it is defined as the "strongest Digimon". Unfortunately it is hinted that during production of Mugendramon arc there was some tiny drama between writing/production stuff that's why Mugendramon received the worst and shortest arc in comparison to other Dark Masters. And this caused many people thought Piedmon is stronger or something. WarGreymon did beat Mugendramon by miracle thanks to the huge boost both in original adventures and 2020 otherwise it would never stand a chance, 2020 also made this clear when Mugendramon easily put WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon in their places easily... until WarGreymon gets the boost again. And Remember 2020's WarGreymon is way more powerful than the one in the original series.

Dark masters > Devas> Evil Warriors from frontiers. The dark masters were ruthless and hilarious at the same time. But Grottemon/Grumblemon from frontier was always entertaining on screen.

There are some things you missed about metalseadramon. Wargreymon’s weapons are the dramon killers meaning they are used to slay dramon type digimon like metalseadramon, also wargreymon ran through metalseadramon from the inside of his body.

Pidemon comes off as the smartest in addition to having exceptionally broken hax, hence he's the leader. 2:00 technically you're wrong in this situation megidramon is stronger then dukemon and we seem them fight each other in the card BT5-083 of the digimon TCG were megidramon looks to have upper hand in this battle with little to no damage to himself were as for dukemon he looks way more damage with no shield and his lanze is damage and also I forgot to mention that this fight is a 2V1 dukemon has the help of omegamon(and we see omegamon in the right claw of megidramon) this could implies that this dukemon is The Royal Knight dukemon who is stronger than the normal version we see in the tamers anime

I personally would have said Piedmon, mainly because his evolution line is seen all throughout the series: DemiDevimon Devimon Myotismon While it can be stated Myotismon evolves to VenomMyotismon/MaloMyotismon, in the card game and in some video games, its stated Myotismon evolves to Piedmon. Then, there's also Phantomon, but I'm going with the line I mentioned, and we all saw how powerful those were...especially Myotismon, who was hurt by an Ultimate(WereGarurumon) and Champion(Angemon) I mean no offense, but Angewomon had to get a power-up boost to put Myotismon away.

All I know is that I like the dub of the Dark Masters a ton. MetalSeadramon’s Brooklyn accent gave him a lot more character than the original. 😅

Chaosdramon (maybe from machinedramon line) in Digimon Next is insanely strong. His red digizoid is crazy.

BTW I'm not discounting power boosts from the kids. I am just confused as to why people side eye power boosts from heroes but act like the bad guy having an entire army and infinitely more time and resources to prepare themselves is A-ok from a honor system (admit this is what ppl do). Not to mention, half the time the bad guy has power boosts too! Not the Dark Masters per se, though I'd argue being made from the ultimate dark energy could be argued as power boosting, but certainly Myotismon and Devimon.

I have a question... if puppetmon is as strong as you say, how strong is metal etemon? Considering he handled puppetmon.. but then gets destroyed by zudomon, who couldn't do anything to puppetmon.. 🤷‍♂️

Machinedramon was the easiest amongst the dark masters to be taken out there’s no way his above piedmon Wargreymon did not even do any of his signature attacks he only blitz’s him with his dramon killer gauntlet Piedmon needed to be defeated by two mega and holy Angemon hack powers And puppetmon clearly was the weakest, he only lasted the longest because the chosen children started to fight and separated

would clearly set puppetmon to 2. He could have defeated all of the Digiknights, but because he'd rather play with them, he let them all live and gave them a chance to escape. In addition to that, in the final fight, his hammer was destroyed. I'm sure that weakened him. In addition, he probably transformed his house, which also cost him strength. He was the typical Freezar. Very strong but too childlike in character and made mistakes as a result and finally summoned his defeat. Piedmon was clearly different in character and therefore much stronger. What Piedmon did, Puppetmon could easily have done. Machinedramon would never have been able to do that. He even fought together with a lot of other Digimon and made the Digi knights tired with his mass of armies. In a one vs one fight or one vs digital knight fight, he would have clearly lost.

Imagine needing to seal a puppetmon and metalseadramon away cause you couldn’t beat them 😂

I don't know what to think about their power, Puppetmon has a lot of hidden potential but his brute power is in the hammer, if he looses it he's limited, and he has been easily destroyed by a close shot; Metalseadramon -why a Data type?- has just destructive power; Piedmon seems still the strongest with his abilities, Machinedramon seem however more powerful than the others. P.S. Okay i admit i'm not a fan of Digimon designs but I think their appearences could have been more varied, just two armored draconic and two theatre characters humanoids. Also Seadramon line is eventually seen from the good side, i wonder if their Mega would be Metalseadramon as well

This feels like an uninteresting stretch mostly. Puppetmon was defeated by teamwork, he literally took a full power horn buster, had Garudamon destroy his hammer, and was forced to retreat. He was weakened physically and had his strongest weapon destroyed. Yes he was also unhinged from getting his ass handed to him, but I often feel like we mistake people being able to dodge attacks with being able to tank them. He finally took a full attack from a Mega and was destroyed. They don't seem to explain why the puppet strings don't work, but I feel its plausible that in his weakened state they weren't as strong AND MetalGarurumon had grown stronger in his time apart. Yeah the house thing was an issue for the Digidestined and Matt saved them. But you are way overplaying Puppetmon.

MetalSeaDramon only lost because he got distracted from using his full energy on his final attack by Whamon and WarGreyMon literally was left with 1hp just like vs. Machinedramon. Nearly sacrifing himself. Puppetmon is the weakest with Machinedramon and MetalSeaDramon being a tie and Piedmon being the most powerful

The Dramon Destroyers may not have an effect on Mugendramon but they do have an affect on MetalSeadramon, without WarGreymon, the Digidestined wouldn't have defeated MetalSeadramon as easily as Puppetmon

I kinda disagree with the placements... Mostly that Metalseadramon is too low and Machinedramon too high. Let me explain: I think Wargreymon was stronger in his fight against Machinedramon than Mtealseadramon, but... What killed Machinedramon was a normal claw swipe...no fancy names or powered move...a simple swipe... Against Metalseadramon it was "brave tornado" with the dramon destroyer bonus (him overpowering that blast is impressive i admit) On top of that If whamon didn't help Wargreymon would have being eaten, they received help against Machinedramon too but it was more of an distraction. Given that, i think that either Machinedramon should drop or Metalseadramon should rise. But that is just me...

I do not think that you understand how MSeadramon was defeated. Wargreymon has the weapon called "Dramon Claws or Dramon Killer" which specifically counters digimon with a "Dramon" on its name. MSeadramon was against a bad matchup, he was destined to lose against Wargreymon due to the Dramon Claws. Against other digimon, Mseadramon might have the upper hand, but his arrogance made him lose. Most of his fights were on the land where he tried to capture digidestined multiple times but failed. He is meant to fight in water as hr boasts the fastest speed in it. But kept fighting on land cause he wanted to flex too much. He deserved to lose imo

Piedmont strongest

Piedmon is by far the strongest and that is not even up for debate. Wargreymon solo’d Machindramon and Metalseadramon Metalgarurumon solo’d Puppetmon However, their COMBINED powers wasn’t enough to beat Piedmon. Like what is so hard to understand about this lol

Is it weird that I don’t see the dark masters being as strong as the four sacred beasts???? Don’t get me wrong as all three are megas and do show some good power or moves and abilities, there’s just something to them that just doesn’t come off as that kind of level of threat that could even defeat and trap the four sacred beasts with their own power. Kind of makes me wonder one of two things, one the dark masters were strengthened by the likes of apocalymon influence, something that I can understand as apocalymon does come off as that much of a threat and powerful, or two these aren’t necessarily the real dark masters per say, rather avatars for them in that world if we factor in different times and space, someone made a similar theory for this about the seven great demon lords, that each of the seven we see in certain games events or series is merely an avatar for the true demon lords who are far more powerful than what we originally viewed.

You, made a bit of a calc issue on metal seadramon. Wargreymon has a oddity advantage against him "Any Dragon" digimon is outright weak to the dramon cutters. Even Wargreymon carrier of a dragon line power is weak to his own weapon. Metal seadramon was going to be baned against as soon as "Great Tornado" slammed into him. And wargreymon's weapons are also equally the same metal type. It was the same issue as Machinedramon (Mugendramon) whom was 1 cut by wargreymon. It's likely Metalseadramon was indeed weakest though. He was quite lazy in comparison though River of power is his strongest move. Wargreymon's fire tornado is quite capable to generate repulsion against it flining the two energies away. It's prob cause the "Brave Shield" is on him as well. So he'll take small dose of damage but nothing really notable. But if River Of Power kept hitting him. Then yes...Metal Seadramon would have won out. Metal Seadramon also delt with Wargreymon in a "emotional rage" which prob pushed him over the edge. Since It seemed Piedmon explained it quite well. "Your not familiar with your megaforms compared to us" (They are not skilled as megas nor can maintain that form for extended periods.) The Digidestined legit lucked out. The problem of "Any" wargreymon species is those claws. Time and time again they have been mentioned to be the counter to dragon types. Cybersleuth even points out about the Dramon Killers. TBH...bit shocked you didn't know why he stripped metalseadramon to bits. On top of that...Metalseadramon is a "cyborg" so...his insides are still flesh to a degree. It's one of his weak points. Tanking a River Of Power...yes very plausable for him, it was a no win scenario and was just like metal garurumon 1 shotting Puppetmon. Puppetmon can only control digimon on what seems to be "emotions" so Metal Garurumon's resistance is pretty sturdy. WOudn't be out of the normal is wargreymon could eventually do the same. Since puppetmon is also outright weak to fire formed attacks on top of that. And was emotionally distraught and getting carried away. Even Cherrymon was right on the money about how Puppetmon was foolish and coudn't make real friends cause he was always abusive and destructive. Honestly the saddest part is. Puppetmon was most likely the most redeemable of the dark masters if he wasn't so broken from being created from his "portion" of Millennium. Even Metal Etamon gave him a pretty hard arse beating. AND Zudomon was able to break and destroy Metal Etamon. This also puts Zudomon on a potential scale to Harm Puppetmon too just cause of his hammer's direct strikes is also Digichrome. Anything with Digichrome is amped. Piedmon was just...upgraded Puppetmon anyways...cause Piedmon can do even higher up tricks. Has WAY more mobility and could beat down 2 megas and every ultimate in near moments. He seems to have allot of vantage on 1vs many fights instead of 1 on 1. cause he's very trick reliant and also a "sorcery" digimon. While Machinedramon is by that time a "Relic" digimon. That was the first "notable" mega digimon that ever came out other than Metal Etamon. It's even notable that Machinedramon is a "relative" species of the Greymon line cause most notably it directly forms from SKullgreymon & Metalgreymon. It's most likely that "Skullgreymon" is the central body form while the android digimon subparts that make him up around that core body which does put him even above typical megas. But reality is...he's slow for a mega. Not very fast in comparison to Piedmon, Wargreymon, Metalgarurumon etc. He's just a outrageously potent "tank" with enough "bang" to warrant a huge concern. But when comes to it. MetalSeadramon COULD beat him. And Piedmon outright. Cause they are faster. MetalSeadramon can fly and out move him enough. While Piedmon begiles a small frame but a HUGE strength potential along with magic and trickery. They just don't exactly rank to eachother well ...Puppetmon "MIGHT" have some okay vantages though cause his hammer is where most of his real power lays. and his control strings which would be very ineffective against most mega digimon. He does have a chrome digizoid hammer though. So that makes him able to "attack" but not defend well. He lacks "Piedmons" capacity of evasion and trickery. He's most likely still the weakest member, And only survives by abusing others around him and manipulation.

I think the only reason Wargraymon beat Metalseadramon and Machinedramon is simply because they were Dramon, not his own strength per se. Hence why he got manhandled by Puppetmon and Piedmon, they weren't dramon.
