The whole, "New painting being Bloodborne" was super trippy to me, because my first character I ever beat the whole DS3 experience with was a female Dex build I named Yharnam. So when she asked me my name for the new painting, I kinda freaked out.

Im torn about pontiff not being the final boss, on one hand the Gwyn reference and aesthetic of the souls of cinder fight is great, but on the other, Pontiff was wayyyyyy tougher
lol pontiff has no reason to be the final boss. The lord of cinder is meant to be a manifestation of the flame and all the hero's who have kindled it. Plus difficulty is all subjective i find both bosses easy but lord of cinders is leagues better as a final boss then pontiff.
What if the untened graves is the present and when Gundyr waited forever and you never showed, you arrive in the way future. The firelink shrine is the future and you're traveling into the past. There's no portal to untended graves. No sign of transition. But you can't connect from the beginning of the game to anywhere without the bonfire.
I'm pretty sure Patches is immortal somehow, I think that's why he's in every single Dark Souls game, as well as Bloodborne somehow. I've heard he's in Demon's Souls too. Just a thought
The time is "convoluted" is misleading, but not incorrect. In the japanese version it refers to some sort of stagnation, implying that the there are no different time lines, but just one where the time works differently depending on how much stagnated it is, wich will depend on how far you are from the first flame and how many times it has been kindled.

I’d like to give some context on the whole pontiff deal. His model at one point was gonna be used for the final boss (not the same name though). Kaathe appearing in the Twin Princess boss room has been debunked now. This information came from a fake QA “leak” where it’s community made discoveries at that time mixed with fan-fiction. There’s zero evidence Kaathe would have ever made an appearance in DS3 in the past. The serpent statues in the grand archives didn’t even exist until after the network test. Which is well on its way to the retail story. Also Pontiff would have been fought in the DS1 Kiln not Firelink. Anything you hear about early DS3 I’d take with a grain of salt or not believe most of the time. Early DS3 is just concepts and ideas without a complete game. Maps weren’t done, no items/item descriptions, no character dialogue, or NPC’s in place. The retail story is the first time they ever had a full story complete in-game.

Only game I can compare the difficulty level to Dark/Demon Souls is Returnal on PS5 but that "it's the Dark Soul (game) of this year" is absolutely laughable. I'm just glad these companies keep at it and not subsiding to cry babies by lowering the challenge of an actual difficult game. I commend those creators.
Actually the dark firelink shrine is in the future not in the past. If you do not talk to the shrine handmade she will recognize you when you reach the dark firelink shrine. Edit: I was wrong read the response to my coment if you wanna know more
No, it's the opposite way around. If you do not talk to the shrine handmaiden once in the normal firelink shrine, talk to her for the first time in the dark firelink shrine, and then go back to the normal firelink shrine, the handmaiden in the normal shrine will have a secret piece of dialogue indicating that she recognises you. This proves that the dark firelink shrine is in the past, because interacting with the handmaiden there for the first time will cause her to remember her interaction with you in the present.
Ornstein and Smough ARE real! They drop their souls when u beat them, which u can actually use em to create boss weapons , ORIGINAL BOSS WEAPONS. So that's fake 👍🏻❤️
There’s evidence to suggest that the canon interaction in DS1 when meeting Ornstein and Smough is killing Ornstein first, who is an illusion created by Gwyndolin. Item descriptions suggest that Ornstein left Anor Londo to find the Nameless King, and that Smough was the last to “remain at his post.”
