The Darkest Episode Family Guy Ever Created 

This really isn’t as dark as when Stewie & Brian are trapped in the bank vault and Brian goes into why he keeps his piece there.

That is the most creative family guy episode ever made

This was a good episode but there are wayyy darker episodes in family guy than this. Here are some examples: 1. The episode where brian is getting killed and being replaced by another dog for couple of episodes, the change was so hard to watch that Seth literally got death threats for making it. 2. The episode where Brian and Stewie get stuck inside a vault and they start to go into dark conversations and acts about their relationship and their lives. 3. The episode where the entire Griffin family is stuck in their house because of the weather, and they start to lash out on Meg, which in return she lashes out on them and calling them for all of their bs and how they treat her like crap, making the entire family falling apart, while Brian is on mushrooms and halucinates some pretty hardcore stuff with animations techniques that made the whole thing scarier, and at the end of the episode they get to the conclusion that Meg must be bullied by her family in order to keep them from falling apart... (not a personal favourite) 4. The episode where Joe is finally losing it after realizing he's not appreaciated in his job and that his life is a mess, making him leave Bonnie and quit his job while all under the facade of a "new Joe" that takes life easy and cool. Afterwards he invites the guys to a trip with him to the Niagara Falls and he tried to kill himself in front of them there, and he keep trying to do so and only stops after he manages to save his friends.

I always assumed McFarlane was testing the waters, eliminating some characters in order to easily introduce others. It seemed to work, and seemed worth repeating, until a few years later when he axed Brian. Thus the "Fewer" episode didn't really have a long-lasting influence. I mean, he tried to expand the Guy universe with the Cleveland show. He's sorta tried to expand his own creativity by signing off on "American Dad!" - probably the best show under his umbrella, though it took a while to get good. But he was never heavily involved in the Dad show, other than some early animation. Dad is (or was, I think one of them left) really Barker and Weitzman's show. I think the stagnation comes from the medium: TV. I wish McFarlane - and heck, Matt Groening, for that matter - would've moved to streaming some years ago with new ideas. We might've had a whole series-worth of "Fewer"-type shows on a new Hulu program, or something.

I am surprised, you didn't mention "Agatha Christie: And then there were none" novel. Maybe you haven't heard about it. But when I first saw these episodes, I immediately knew it was a "parody" of that book. That novel is actually really interesting, and very similar to this, I think these episodes are still some sort of comedy, not some random genre-change. Family Guy is famous about making parodies of actual books, films, songs. However, it was a really beautiful end of these characters and it was a good memory.

And I even loved that unmistakable 80's soap opera/suspense music they played when "Diane" was explaining to Lois her homicidal bitterness.

Sorry, the season 10 episode 'Screams of Silence: The Story of Brenda Q' is way darker than this.

I watched those two when I was little. My parents didn't want me watching it so I'd wait until night and watch it on Netflix. I remember whenever they found the dead body (precila) in the ceiling tile it high-key scared me. I'm fine now though

the episode where brian takes shrooms due to the hurricane keeping everybody inside and the tv dying is also pretty dark, though the ending was disappointing imo but it was interesting nonetheless
