Im sad at how we all know there wont be a sequel to this movie seeing as how it did in the box office. They couldve done better with the movie starting with the script, the cast was excellent, such a shame. I am now reading book 2 and cant wait for the upcoming events, we just have to read the book and imagine with the movie cast in mind.

Honestly I prefer the books much better, I read them first (3 with an 2 additional books with short stories and a 5th book for Zu) and it went into much more scenes, I felt like the movie was rushed. I do expect there to be more than 1 movie because that movie was just based on the first book, And the end Was the end of the first book. Book #1 - The darkest minds Book #2 - Never fade Book #3 - In the After-light (My fav, and the last book of the series) Book #4 - Through the Dark (Short story on Gabe, 100 pages or so, Sam and someone else) Sam doesn't show up in the movie. Book #5 - The Darkest Legacy (About Zu, Why she doesn't Talk, What she went through)

There won't be. The movie flopped domestically, making $12 million against a production budget of $34 million. Even with worldwide gross it only made $41 million. So it barely covered production costs and that is not including the marketing costs. The movie didn't even breakeven.

The movie was horrible compared to the books..its why it flopped. They got to much wrong, which is why it failed..when you have a big novel following you need to give the people what they expect.

What a waste of telekinesis. If you can tear asphalt and throw trees around then just rip the engine block out of the car or push the brake with your mind. Tear the steering wheel out of the car. So many easier, more efficient ways to use your power.

And if he can move a tree that size, to intercept the van they are in and those two cars chasing them while traveling at that speed . . . honestly that is probably enough power to damage the car he he just decided to crush it or even push it off the road.

North Hype my recommendation since i was also going to watch the movie but seeing how the book is and the amount of money it did in the box office, i would give this movie a pass. But if you want to waste like 2 hours of your life, you could wait till its in red box or something.

I became aware of the books through the film, which I saw only a few weeks ago. I can't really understand some of the comments, especially those where people seem to have read the books but still think the movie is good. It is clear that there will never be a second film. Because of some of the things they did in the movie, the second movie couldn't really be like the book, or couldn't be done without it being confusing. A series adaptation would have made so much more sense, because you could have really gone into the details. A lot of things didn't make sense in the movie, at least I often felt like there was always a half hour that should have been there for the explanation of a situation. Really a pity. I really recommend that those who want to should read the books, they are really good.
